You're in for a treat with a stay at this contemporary apartment perched along a handsome leafy avenue of the well-heeled Eixample district. Home to Gaudí's architectural gems, haute couture shops, and Michelin star restaurants, they call this neck of the woods Quadrat d'Or (Golden Square) for a good reason.

Back at home, the pristine, uncluttered interiors will appeal to all you minimalists out there. Flooded with natural daylight thanks to those floor-to-ceiling Juliet balcony windows, it feels like a breath of fresh air to return to after a day soaking up all that Gaudi extravagance in the streets below.

Drop your bags in the spacious hallway, grab a glass of something crisp (the complimentary chilled wine will help with that), then fling the balcony doors open wide to watch the grand avenue of Gran Via bustle below. One of Barcelona's longest boulevards crossing right through the city, it's an impressive sight to behold. And thanks to its elevated position on the fifth floor, the spacious bedrooms feel surprisingly quiet at night with the windows closed and the black-out blinds drawn.

How Transparent

An outdoor terrace is always a nice addition to a home regardless of the location, but in a sunny city like Barcelona, it's even more welcome. This apartment's large alfresco space complete with a shady pergola and a couple of loungers is sure to be appreciated during the height of summer.

We're happy to report that this address is far from a one-trick pony, however. There's a wealth of space inside and bountiful amounts of natural light from the large windows, which is allowed to flow through the interior thanks to the clever use of internal glass panels. Although the design is largely pared-back, there are a few characterful touches that caught our eye, including the patterned tiled flooring in the kitchen and the hanging egg chair in one of the bedrooms.

What's perhaps most impressive is that this large home isn't on the outskirts of the city, but a mere three minutes' walk from Plaça de Catalunya and the start of La Rambla. With Eixample just to the north here as well, you're never going to be short of galleries, restaurants or historic attractions within strolling distance of the front door.

Ramble Down La Rambla

This elegant apartment is in the centre of Barcelona, 100 metres from Las Ramblas and a short walk from Plaza de Catalunya. Bars, restaurants and shops are all on your doorstep. Apart from a full kitchen and delightful dining room inside, there’s a private terrace for evening cocktails outside. In the living room, you’ve got a dedicated laptop desk for those that need to work remotely. Despite the central location, it’s pretty quiet as the rooms look out over the terrace rather than the busy street. 

When the City Sleeps

With its trendy colour palette and sleek modern design, this Eixample apartment offers first-class urban living. The marine blue accent wall makes the open-plan living space feel connected and cosy, while boiserie and marble-effect details add a touch of elegance. You’ll begin your mornings at the dining table with a traditional Catalan breakfast before nipping onto the balcony to bask in the glorious sunshine. 

Spend afternoons ticking off Barcelona’s cultural hot spots – Gaudí’s Casa Batlló is a mere 160 metres from your building and La Sagrada Família is a leisurely twenty-five-minute walk away. Weave through the Gothic Quarter’s charming streets – stop for a coffee on La Rambla and pore over the masterpieces in the Picasso Museum. And when the day draws to a close, take the twenty-four-minute bus trip to Barceloneta Beach to watch the sun set over the glittering Mediterranean. 

La Modernista

This apartment offers a rustic sanctuary in the heart of Eixample. Inspired by the tones of nature, the owners have designed this home to bring ease to city living. It’s also a great option for remote workers with a dedicated office and plenty of space across the open-plan living room. You will need to bring your own essentials, but it’s a short walk to the nearest shops. Plus, you’ll find the iconic landmarks of Passeig de Gràcia are also within easy walking distance. 

The Spanish Serenade 

High above Plaça de Catalunya, this penthouse is one we love for its spectacular views of Barcelona's skyline. The large, private terrace is the star of the show in this home – it's the perfect place to top up the tan or enjoy evening drinks. For lunch, prepare some tapas in the modern kitchen and enjoy at the dining table, or take a seat on the comfy sofa and plan the rest of your day. Out and about, have a stroll around Plaça de Catalunya, right on your doorstep, with its pretty fountains. Or, it's around a fifteen-minute walk to one of Antoni Gaudi's most iconic works, Casa Milà. Just over a ten-minute stroll, you'll find the charming Gothic Quarter with its medieval streets filled with trendy bars, while flower stalls line busy avenue La Rambla. To get the most out of your vacation, your host can organise tours or even food experiences. There's so much to do and see here – you'll probably need to come back for another stay.

Ciutat Vella

Orange Moon has been renovated recently with a bright, modern look in mind, with the greenery, the terrace and the bohemian-inspired furniture keeping it warm, inviting and cosy. You can look out over the Sagrada Familia and the brilliant Mediterranean sea while sipping your morning coffee. Though you’re only a few steps from the Passeo de Gracia, Avenida Diagonal, and Rambla de Catalunya, the private balcony and views to the sea make it seem a world away from the busy city. With a metro stop one block away, you’re also very well-placed to explore all parts of Barcelona and its surroundings.

L'Artiste

This stylish city centre home is perfectly nestled within short walking distance of some of Barcelona's best-loved sights and sounds. The ideal spot for tourists with a busy itinerary, this place has a luxury feel that's softened by a selection of beloved home comforts. From the super soft bed linen to the fully-equipped kitchen and lavish roll top bath, if you're hoping to experience Barcelona at its finest, take it from us, this spacious apartment is where you need to be.

With beautiful decor throughout, sensational city views and a selection of shops, cafes, restaurants and bars all less than a stone's throw away, this place really does have it all. 

Immerse yourself in Barcelona's rich cultural history as you visit the city's famed Casa Batlló. Proudly sat just a one-minute stroll from your new home from home, this must-see structure was designed by Antoni Gaudí in 1904 and has since become one of the city's most iconic landmarks.

Just a further four-minutes away, you can find yet another of Gaudi's masterpieces - La Pedrera. Here you can take some snap shots and soak up Barcelona's spectacular sights before heading to the city's most famous shopping mall, El Corte Inglés, for a much-needed spot of retail therapy.



Gaudi's Guesthouse

The Epicurean Spirit

Built with respect for the environment, this bright home is an ideal base for eco-conscious guests looking for a comfortable, central stay in the city. While the home dates back to 1900, it’s been brought into sparkling 21st-style with an interior that reflects eco-design principles and respects Catalan Modernism. Outside of your home, you’re just a five-minute walk from the Arc de Triomf, a nine-minute stroll from both Plaça de Catalunya and Ciutadella Park, while La Sagrada Familia is twenty-four minutes away on foot.
