After a long day, the Whole Foods on-site makes it convenient to nip down for groceries before making yourself some dinner in the well-equipped kitchen. Thoughtfully curated art, plants and a flat-screen television makes this cosy flat feel like a home away from home. And with Oak Street Beach, Michigan Avenue, and Gold Coast just a stroll away, you’ll still feel like you’re on holiday.

Work & Play

Start your engines, and drive back into a bygone era of soulful old music bars, low-key speakeasies and classic cars at this accessible apartment in Downtown Detroit. While the convenient location sets you up perfectly for all there is to eat, drink and do nearby, we especially love how the apartment recaptures some of the early sixties magic of Motor City with its retro-styled interiors and bold wallpaper prints. Mixing mid-century decor with elegant furniture, marble tabletops and hotel-quality bedding, the home will have you relaxing in style from the get-go. Watch over the city through the large windows, as you enjoy a home-cooked meal in the light-filled dining area. Better still, head downstairs to the handy 7-Eleven and stock up on a few naughty treats to devour in bed. Spend your days exploring lively Greektown, an eight-minute walk away, or head to the Detroit riverfront – our favourite place to stop with a bite to eat – around eleven minutes from home. 

Joy Ride

Dive right into life in Downtown Detroit at this conveniently located accessible apartment. It's a chic, contemporary space housed in a beautiful neoclassical building, with an on-site gym so you can keep up with your workout routine. The kitchen is kitted out with everything you might need to rustle up home-cooked cuisine, but if you'd rather head out for a bite to eat, there are plenty of nearby options. In addition, you're just blocks away from the Detroit River, perfect for a contemplative afternoon stroll. The riverfront also hosts events throughout the year, ranging from birdwatching to music festivals and everything in between. Spend your days exploring independent boutiques, low-key speakeasies, cool coffee shops, and delicious eateries along Woodward Avenue, around half a mile away. Or catch a show at Saint Andrew's Hall in nearby Bricktown, which is just under a fifteen-minute walk from your front door.

Dancing in the Street

From Motown records to Ford Mustang convertibles, Detroit is known for its grit, groove and charisma. You’ll find this accessible apartment in the heart of Downtown, a fifteen-minute walk from the riverfront and a six-minute stroll to Greektown, making it the perfect base to take in the best of Motor City. After exploring the speakeasies and boutiques along Woodward Avenue, return to your mid-century pad for a moment's rest and relaxation. While classic cars and soulful music are no longer the only reason to visit the city, we love how this apartment reclaims a bit of that early Sixties magic, with its stylish furnishings and bold wallpaper prints. Enjoy a sneaky afternoon snooze on the comfy, hotel-quality bed or set the dining table for a little grub knocked up in the handy kitchenette. This home offers all of the usual mod-cons needed for a long, stress-free stay – there's even a 7-Eleven downstairs. Later, take a leafy stroll in the tranquil surrounding area or head to Campus Martius Park (a four-minute walk) for a scenic green open space to wander. 

Cruisin'

Surrounded by green spaces and just a stone’s throw from the Mississippi River, this bright, elegant apartment is an ideal base from which to experience the city’s best sights. We love the simple sophistication of this home’s decor, from its wood floors to its soft, contemporary furnishings and large windows that let plenty of sunshine flow through. Thoughtful details like the fiddle-leaf tree, rocking chair and pieces of art add plenty of character to the space, while the industrial-style lighting above the sleek kitchen recalls the neighbourhood’s past as the city’s centre for flour milling. Factor in the on-site fitness centre, lounge with a roaring fire and communal courtyard with barbecues for grilled feasts aplenty (there's a Trader Joe's downstairs for fresh produce) and you’ve got everything you need for a relaxing stay. Outside of your home, you’re just a three-minute walk from the Guthrie Theater, a four-minute stroll from Mill Ruins Park and the Stone Arch Bridge, and the U.S. Bank Stadium – home of the Minnesota Vikings football team – is six minutes away on foot. 


Sweet Fig

Surrounded by Uptown Minneapolis’ restaurants, parks, and boutiques and with stunning lakes just a stone’s throw away, this modern apartment puts you in an ideal position to experience the city’s urban and natural wonders. Inside, wood floors, contemporary furnishings and floor-to-ceiling windows create an impressive welcome with a cool blue palette making the space feel like a calming retreat above the hustle and bustle of the streets below. The master bedroom is all set to give you a dreamy night’s sleep with its carefully curated decor and comfortable bed, while its private balcony is the ideal spot to enjoy your morning coffee as the city wakes up. If you need to catch up on work, there’s a handy desk space in your home to do so, while the twenty-four-hour fitness centre is ready to help you work up a sweat. There's also a shop on the building's ground floor should you need any extras during your stay. Outside of your home, Lake of the Isles and Bde Maka Ska are both a twelve-minute walk away where boating,  bike and walking trails await and Cedar Lake South Beach beckons a thirty-minute stroll from your door. After a day of exploring, come back home and make your way up to the communal rooftop terrace where a hot tub, fire pit lounge and glimmering city views wait to end your night on a magical note. 

Life On The Lakes

If you're staying in Minneapolis, it doesn't get much more central than the Downtown East neighbourhood. This contemporary building rises above the street, offering a short walk to the US Bank Stadium and access to miles of Skyway. Visit the iconic Stone Arch bridge and the ruins of old flour mills along the river, or walk to the nearby Guthrie Theatre. Inside, it's an unfussy, modern apartment with big windows, comfy furniture and all the equipment you could need for an easy stay. The building comes with some excellent communal amenities too – there's a guest lounge, a year-round rooftop spa and a Skyline viewing deck. Surrounded by great bars and eateries, you're right in the thick of things.

Better Together

Right in the heart of Downtown Detroit, close to the riverfront and Greektown, this two-bed apartment is a fantastic base for exploring the best of Motor City. While there might only be a couple of automotive companies standing in what was once the epicentre of US car manufacture, the apartment's decor harks back to the early Sixties, when Motown was rocking and cars were rolling off Detroit production lines at a record pace. Think elegant furnishings and retro artwork, all illuminated by plenty of natural light, thanks to the large windows looking out over the city. Downstairs there's a 7-Eleven to keep you stocked up on late-night snacks, and of course, Greektown isn't far away, with its fantastic restaurants and vibrant bars (helped along by neighbourhood-wide happy hours). Getting around on public transport is a breeze, and you can be exploring the Eastern Market or Detroit Institute of Arts in approximately twenty minutes, while the Motown Museum is just under a forty-minute bus ride away.


Good Golly Miss Molly

This modern home in Minneapolis' Downtown East neighbourhood is full of history. Located south of the Mississippi River, it features many former industrial buildings from when the city was known for flour milling. Go for a sunset stroll and see the atmospheric riverfront ruins at Mill Ruins Park, then take a walk across the historic Stone Arch Bridge (under ten minutes on foot) and admire the fantastic views of the city and Saint Anthony Falls. Culture vultures, on the other hand, can head to the Guthrie Theater, a three-minute saunter away, while the delights of downtown are a twenty-five-minute wander or a six-minute ride. There are plenty of bars and restaurants right on your doorstep, though – Washington Avenue is a mere two-minute amble and you're a block away from the US Bank Stadium. Back at this home, the first thing that grabs your attention is the eye-catching silver brickwork of this contemporary building. Soak up the Minnesota sunshine on a lounger by the pool, or clock up some miles in the communal gym before cooking a feast with produce from the grocery store right downstairs. Inside, blue and grey hues, silver birch wallpaper and large windows create a calming and relaxing space. Play some of your favourite music on the record player and unwind. 

East Side

Stay in one of Minneapolis' trendiest neighbourhoods, North Loop, with this stylish home. In this locale, you'll find award-winning restaurants, tempting coffee shops, plenty of bars and chic boutiques housed in old warehouses. Go for a stroll along the picturesque trails of the Mississippi River, or head to Minneapolis Farmers' Market (twenty-five minutes on foot) for beautiful flowers and seasonal organic produce. If sport is your thing – watch a Minnesota Twins game at Target Field, a ten-minute saunter away. Back at this apartment, head up to the rooftop to take in stunning views of the Twin Cities skyline. For dinner, grill some of the goodies from the farmers' market on the barbecue or sink into the cornflower blue sofa in this home's bright living room and have a movie night. We love the floor-to-ceiling windows here – they allow light to pour in, creating a convivial space.

Mini Apple

In the eclectic Uptown neighbourhood, this home is at the heart of the action – yet just a ten-minute walk from Bde Maka Ska and the Chain of Lakes. You'll find it easily enough – the striking contemporary building has a Target Express on the ground floor (perfect for grabbing everyday essentials) and once you've found your apartment there's nothing to do but unpack and start enjoying the sights and sounds of this exciting city. But you might just want to take a look around the building's amentities first. Up on the roof you'll find a hot tub and elsewhere there's a shared fitness room. With music venues and great places to eat and drink on your doorstep, you'll have plenty to do in the evenings and you'll be coming home each night to a comfortable little home with plenty of room for up to four of you. 

Lake Limelight

From soulful old music joints to a flourishing contemporary art and design scene, Detroit is gritty, creative and exciting. You’ll find this apartment in the heart of Downtown, a ten-minute walk from Comerica Park, seven minutes from the art deco Guardian Building, and twenty from the Detroit riverfront – our favourite place to stop with a bite to eat when the weather is fair. After a day spent exploring the speakeasies and boutiques along Woodward Avenue, arrive at your pad for a relaxed afternoon. The interior design is stylish yet functional. Recline on the sofa in the light-filled living space or set the glass dining table ready for a tasty supper whipped up in the kitchenette. If you can just about resist a cat nap in the hotel-quality beds, there’s a well-equipped, communal fitness room in the building to get your endorphins flowing.
