It's a blend of different styles, yet it works – vintage antiques mix with minimalist furniture, wooden countertops sit on stainless steel cabinets and, in the heart of it all, are the huge windows showing off the mammoth trees of Arkonaplatz Square across the street. On sunny days, enjoy your morning cup of coffee and breakfast roll on the balcony, watching as Berlin comes to life. Location-wise, you won't have to travel far to experience the authentic flea markets, buzzing restaurant scene and trendy galleries in this lively part of Mitte. Instead of walking to the main attractions, make like the locals and rent a bike from the cycle hire stations in the Kulturbrauerei or hop on the tram and be in the city centre in no time.

At the exact point where Kreuzberg meets Neukölln, we find The Blue Angel. Kreuzkölln, as the locals call it, is a blend of multiple identities - there’s the multicultural atmosphere, the hipster bars, and a mix of both expensive abodes and rundown buildings. Masterfully designed by the owners, some of its unique features include a photo wall by a Chicago artist who stayed in the apartment and classical sculptures – most of which the host bought from Italian film director, Franco Zeffirelli. In an attractive Jugendstil building in trendy Prenzlauer Berg, there's fabulous architecture, art and culture all around. Inside, period features and quirky artistic touches make for a real experience, above and beyond your usual rentals. Cook your meals in the smart, modern kitchen and eat either in the charming little dining nook or out on the home's balcony. But it's not a problem if you don't feel like eating at home, with literally hundreds of restaurants within easy walking distance. In a quiet spot, but close to public transport, it's a breeze to explore the city from this little gem. Finish off the night with a drink from the minibar in the home's bedroom.

Located right on the border between Kreuzberg and Neukölln in a neighbourhood the locals call Kreuzkölln, this five-bedroom home is in a place where hipster coffee shops meet multicultural Berlin.

Float Away is about as unique as they come, and while it might look like a boat, it’s actually a floating home with no motor. Moored in a beautiful part of Berlin's Citymarina, it’s perfect for guests looking to experience an alternative side of the city – or to escape the hustle and bustle of places like Mitte and Kreuzberg. In asheltered spot overlooking the calm waters of the Spree, we think this one is pretty special.

Needless to say, it’s on the smaller side, but we only think that adds to its charm. Perfect for a couple, it's got everything you could need onboard for a quiet weekend away. If you're lucky with the weather you can even eat outside on the small deck. Or take the short walk to the harbourside restaurant.

This minimalist apartment sure makes a statement. It's on the top floor of a building dating back to 1905, and the wooden beams, skylights, and glass-walled bedrooms give the whole place an industrial ambience. There's a dappled dining nook where you can enjoy breakfast – better yet, visit the coffee shop downstairs for a morning brew. We love the large skylights, too. Location-wise, Wedding is a lively neighbourhood with a hodge podge of restaurants, shops, and bars to discover. Keen to explore further afield? Hop on the subway, just a five-minute walk away, and set off on an adventure.

Wedding Waltz

There’s a lot to like about Fruitful. Bright (courtesy of the huge windows), modern, and characterful, it’s a charming Prenzlauer Berg escape. Best of all? It’s super close to Volkspark Friedrichshain, one of Berlin’s most beloved parks. As it faces an inner courtyard, it’s pretty tranquil. But it’s still a studio, so don’t expect lots and lots of space (the bedroom is only separated from the living space by a partitioning wall).

Those who are particular about their design will fall head over heels for this penthouse apartment. For a start, the exterior is rather unique, as it's a new wooden development adapted respectfully on top of an industrial building dating back to 1905. The interior is a shining beacon of clean minimalism, in which every item has been selected carefully for maximum impact. The artwork on the walls, for example, is curated by different galleries and artists, and, as such, changes quite regularly. The kitchen, too, has been hidden away in a cabinet, so there's nothing but sleek white walls when it's not in use, and the linens are made from pure organic cotton. Sustainability is at the core of every piece of furniture and fixture within this home, with each piece carefully selected to have minimal environmental impact. Out through the glass doors — which are nothing but generous when it comes to natural light — you'll find the roof terrace, on which there's plenty of seating and a range of plants chosen for their fragrances, from bedstraw and thyme to wall pepper. Located in the quieter north of the Mitte district, there are lots of green spaces and historical curiosities to be found nearby, including the Silent Green Kulturquartier three minutes' walk away and Humbolthain state park only a quarter of an hour away.

Located far from the hustle and bustle but still in Berlin, this suburban home is ideal for families with lots of kids looking to spend time together but less so for those looking to be close to the city's central spots. There is a wide range of things to do, with a sauna, whirlpool, swimming pool, trampoline and more, although restrictions apply unfortunately. Despite the home's location, central Berlin is less than 30 minutes away on public transport, and the local area offers some lovely cycle routes.

To find a serviced apartment this chic in Mitte - Berlin’s most central and historic district - is special. But to bag a bolt hole with a balcony and jaw-dropping views to boot? Now you’re onto a winner.

Inside, this place reads like a masterclass in bohemian style – with rattan elements, structural houseplants, and curated photography staging the perfect scene for those Instagram pics.

But that balcony off both the bedroom and living space is the clincher for us. Set on the sixteenth floor, the views are sensational from way up here. And just imagine these postcard-worthy panoramas at night as the lights of Berlin start to flicker on – that’s a memory made right there.

Curled up on the sofa feathered by cushions and with the record player spinning a few tunes (there’s even a vinyl collection to sift through), we wouldn’t blame you for staying precisely where you are. But really you must explore. 

In Mitte’s wide avenues below, you’ll find all the city’s must-see sights. Take your pick from the Reichstag, the Brandenburg Gate, the Holocaust Memorial, and Checkpoint Charlie  – all within walking distance. Or follow the hipsters down to Mitte’s cafes, boutiques, and much-loved park, Am Köllnischen (just minutes from your door). There’s no better way to soak up the cool street vibes of this mesmerising city.

Mitte may be Berlin's historic centre with cultural gems to discover, but this pet-friendly apartment invites you to unwind in a modern space. Here, on the seventh floor, we love that the large roof terrace boasts cityscape views for your outdoor hangouts. Business travellers will benefit from the workstation. Plus, this home's open-plan living area offers a sofa bed for guests three and four. While excellent transport links are a stone's throw away, lively Oranienburger Street lines your doorstep with restaurants and landmarks.

Sweet Memories

This tranquil studio apartment lies in Berlin's trendy and historic Prenzlauer Berg neighbourhood. The Juliet balcony lets in the sunlight and fresh air during the day, making it ideal for remote working. Privacy is limited here due to the bed sharing space with the living and dining area, and the bathroom here is very narrow with a couple of steps. That said, for a couple or solo traveller looking for a comfortable and central stay, we think this home ticks all the boxes. Pets are welcome to join you here, and in the immediate area, you'll find shops, restaurants, and public transport.

Embrace Berlin's famous cool with a stay at this apartment in Kreuzberg, one of the city's most vibrant neighbourhoods. Street art coats the surrounding industrial buildings which have been transformed into art spaces and trendy bars and restaurants. The living room is a calm space in the city and a door leads out to a private, furnished balcony for a breath of fresh air. If you're in Berlin for work, the dedicated laptop desk in the living room has you covered, making this an ideal spot for business or leisure.

Visiting Berlin on business? This apartment has a sunny office ideal for working from home. Apart from the desk and speedy wi-fi, we think it's a stylish and comfortable pad to call home. Preparing tasty meals is a breeze in the kitchen – if you're not trying the international eateries on your doorstep, that is – and the living area is a cosy spot to unwind post-sightseeing. The layout is a tad snug in places (especially in the bedroom), but there's plenty of space for couples or solo travellers. You'll be based in Schöneberg, an eclectic neighbourhood with parks, cafes, and public transport a short walk away.

This home in upmarket Wilmersdorf offers everything you need for a comfortable Berlin sojourn. Inside, thought has gone into giving the apartment a grassland theme, and the French doors opening onto the balcony let in plenty of sunlight. With a fully equipped kitchen, it's easy to rustle up a quick bite. That said, it would be a shame not to visit some of the many local eateries. When you want to head farther afield, Uhlandstraße Station is a short walk away.

At Balances, you’ll find industrial-inspired exposed brick and pipework, which the host has lovingly combined with minimalist furnishings that give this home a New York-like appeal. It is situated on the lower ground floor, but with plenty of natural light and its location on a quiet street, we’re willing to look past this minor detail. More importantly, Balances sits smack dab between some of Berlin’s most famous, and most important, sites. You can easily walk around this part of town visiting modern art galleries, historic museums or the Berlin Wall Memorial.

This apartment is in Berlin’s Schoneberg neighbourhood, where you’ll find the perfect balance of quiet residential streets, pockets of lively nightlife, huge green spaces and a world-famous luxury department store. It’s a stylish apartment to spend time in with a big living room where a dedicated laptop desk offers a spot to work remotely. The separate, dine-in kitchen has you covered for meals at home and there’s a small, protected balcony for morning coffees alfresco. Should you need it, two extra guests can be accommodated on the sofa bed.

In the trendy neighbourhood of Prenzlauer Berg, this stylish central apartment lends itself well to couples and solo travellers. Pets are welcome to join you here for an additional fee, the kitchen is well-equipped for home cooking, and there's a dedicated desk for remote work. The bathroom is very small and parking outside will be tricky, but we think the location is what sets this home apart. You'll be within easy reach of shops, eateries, parks, and public transport, making it a breeze to explore Berlin.

Curated with a keen eye for design and looking to the lush forests of the Congo for decorative inspiration, this comfortable apartment puts you in a prime position from which to explore the best of Berlin’s sights. 

Step into the open-plan living area to be met with an abundance of textures and ample natural light. From the wood floors to the leafy houseplants and soft, boho throws, you’ll immediately feel welcome. Catch up o work at the handy desk space here or perch by the breakfast bar for some coffee and locally bought pastries. The dining table beckons sociable meals when you’re not out sampling the local food scene, while the bedroom – an equally calm space – invites a seamless night’s sleep. 

When you’re ready to venture out for some sightseeing, make a beeline for the River Spree and amble along its banks, or head to one of the many surrounding green spaces for a stroll and a sunny picnic. With Museum Island, Alexanderplatz and the East Side Gallery all reachable either on foot or by public transport, there’s no end to the adventures in store.

Designed in a modern Japandi style, this centrally located apartment is ideal for those looking for a calm stay within easy reach of the city’s most notable sights. While one guest will need to sleep on the sofa bed at full capacity, a Sonos sound system, a coffee and matcha station and a courtyard-facing bedroom are nice touches here that caught our eye. And the dedicated desk space makes this quiet home perfect for those needing to work remotely. You won’t find a TV here, but you’ll hardly notice given the countless things to see and do nearby, including Mauerpark, the Wasserturm Prenzlauer Berg and plenty of public transport options to take you to all corners of the city. 


The Zen Tree

Located in a residential building overlooking the Spree River in Friedrichshain, this apartment is ideal for solo weekends, romantic getaways and even business trips. It's boho, modern and well-kept, with plenty of space for two. And if you're working from home, you can do so from the laptop-friendly desk in the bedroom. Though the balcony's view of the water is slightly obscured by other apartment buildings, we still appreciate the extra breathing room. We think it's a great spot for early morning coffee and contemplation. Plus, there are cafes and bars within walking distance.

The White Currant

Within walking distance of the Checkpoint Charlie and lesser-known museums, this apartment invites groups of four to make themselves at home in trendy Mitte. There are coffee shops and public transport links a stone's throw away, thanks to its central location. Whatever brings you to Berlin, the open-plan living space lets you relax, dine, and work at the handy desk. We love that you have a balcony, a bonus for fresh-air hangouts since there's no air conditioning for the warmer months.

In the Mitte With You

This jungle-inspired apartment offers a base in one of Berlin's greenest areas. While the Tiergarten Park and the city zoo sit nearby, there are eateries and a supermarket within strolling distance. It's ideal for romantic getaways and solo trips. We love that this home welcomes pets for an extra charge, too. The bottom of the king-sized bed sits against the wall, but there's a door on either side for easy access. Did we mention the small balcony for alfresco bites?

There’s not one balcony here, but two – start the day with breakfast on one and post-sightseeing drinks on the second. While we hope you’ll spend most of your time exploring, there’s a handy desk for remote workers. This spot is in a young and alternative neighbourhood, though if you want to see the inner city’s famous landmarks, you can hop on the U-Bahn from Berlin Ostkreuz – it’s a ten-minute walk away.

Tucked away in the bohemian streets of Kreuzberg, this apartment provides the ideal base for an inspiring city stay. From here, you can stroll to cafes, shops and restaurants. Plus, it’s within easy reach of the Landwehr Canal – perfect for leisurely afternoon strolls. You'll enjoy easy access to public transport and an array of restaurants right on your doorstep, with the location lending itself well to exploring the city.

Modern, practical and well-located, this home definitely ticks all three boxes.

Tucked away in between some of Berlin’s most famous, and most important, sites, it’s great for travellers looking to explore the city’s historic side. You’ll find lots of art galleries, museums, and the Berlin Wall Memorial within walking distance.

It’s also worth noting there’s only one bathroom, so be prepared for some waiting around in the morning. Though with a sunny balcony for coffees and free-flowing living spaces to spill out into for lazy brunches, what’s the big rush anyway?
