Making Waves is one of a kind. Situated just behind Berlin’s cluster of galleries, it’s also within walking distance to the architectural masterpiece that is Gleisdreieck Park. On top of being fully equipped (the kitchen is a particular favourite of ours), we also love how stylish it is. Much of the furniture is custom made for the space, and it has a tranquil atmosphere that we can’t get over. As a bonus, it has Sonos speakers in every single room – this includes the bathroom for all the people who enjoy a good sing along session in the shower.

Downstairs, there's a helpful concierge should you need anything – from booking a table at one of the city's most happening restaurants to organising for a continental breakfast to be delivered to your apartment each day. Upstairs, you'll love the bright, lofty feel of the home, thanks to the high ceilings and dual aspect windows, and the quiet courtyard-facing bedrooms to help bank a peaceful night's sleep. Over in the main living space, the massive dining table is the perfect spot to come together for lazy breakfasts as you hatch plans for the day ahead. And the daily housekeeping will keep things spick and span while you're out and about – which we suspect you'll be doing rather a lot of here. There's a myriad of great bistros, street food, and bakeries in the streets below, all within walking distance. Or hop on one of the city bikes, handily parked right outside the apartment building, for a morning's jaunt over the river to Tiergarten Park for picnicking and frisbee tossing - it's the local's favourite place to be.

If you're looking for a well-connected spot in the heart of Berlin, this comfortable apartment provides optimal space for a convenient stay. Contemporary in style, with sleek wooden furnishings, velvet accents and a colour palette of rich mahogany browns, the home balances hotel-like features with all the necessary home comforts perfectly. For example, the private minibar and the building's reception area provide all the convenience of a hotel, while the large wooden dining table and collection of books offer personalised touches and a more lived-in feel. Gather the whole group around the open-plan kitchen and dining area for an aperitif, after a day's action-packed adventures in Berlin. Since you are located only a seven-minute walk away from the canal, you'll be well-positioned for leisurely walks that combine views of the city's industrial-style architecture, with the lusciously green trees that bring life and colour to the walkways.

Linderhof oozes character with a regal touch. Even though we can’t quite seem to nail down its style (it’s a mix of everything, Hollywood Regency elements, Baroque accents, Farmhouse Style cabinetry), we absolutely loved the high ceilings, stucco detailing, and the gorgeous granite countertop. Located in wonderful Schöneberg, it’s in a charismatic part of Berlin with lots to do around the corner.

Marienburg taps into something that feels very majestic. The over-the-top style isn’t for everyone, but if you want to feel a little regal, this three-bedroom home is for you. A swanky mix of Hollywood Regency and rustic styles, it’s the kind of place that makes you think of German fairytale castles. Schöneberg is full of things to do, especially when it comes to local restaurants and shops.

Marienburg

Swanky in every way, Schwerin reminds us of German fairytale castles. While Schöneberg isn’t exactly located atop a hill with panoramic views of forests and mountains (like a real castle), it does offer a lot in terms of local Berlin restaurants and shops. We love the high ceilings, stucco details and luxurious materials, perfect for channelling your inner regal self.

Located in Tiergarten, an area famed for its art galleries and boutiques, this stylish serviced apartment is just a short walk from many of Berlin's must-sees like the National Gallery, the Kultur Forum, and Potsdamer Platz. Do like the locals and hop on a city bike (handily parked right outside the apartment building) to cruise about from one site to another. Or there's always the metro just a four-minute walk away from the apartment. When it's time for a pitstop, grab some picnic goodies from the many great bistros, street-food kiosks, and bakeries close by and make a beeline for the much-loved parks of Gleisdreieck and Tiergarten; they're both close by. Back at home, you'll find a stylish bolthole to put your feet up. Though compact (this is studio living), we think it's perfectly formed. The owners have kept the space pared-back and contemporary, letting the light stream in through those full-height windows. There's a dining area overlooking the quiet inner courtyard and a sleek kitchen that has all you need for rustling up breakfast. Or let the concierge take over and organise for continental breakfast or freshly baked rolls to be delivered to your room to speed up the morning routine. There's a city waiting to be discovered, after all.

If you’re looking to stay in a well-located and characterful neighbourhood of Berlin, this serviced apartment is just the ticket. Perched between the bustling districts of Mitte and Tiergarten, you have a number of museums, cafes, boutiques, and two much-loved parks and picnic hotspots, Gleisdreieck and Tiergarten, all close by. Do like the locals and hop on a city bike which is handily parked right outside the apartment building – there’s no better way to see the city. Or there's always the subway, just a four-minute walk away from the apartment, if cycling isn't your thing. And when it’s finally time to rest up at home, you’ll find a stylish bolthole waiting. Housed in a Beaux-Arts building dating back to 1900, we were particularly impressed by the high ceilings and hotel-like bathroom with a large bathtub for ultimate relaxation. The dining table bathed in natural light is perfect for lazy breakfasts - ask the concierge to deliver continental breakfast or fresh bread daily to your door each morning as an added treat. And with a daily housekeeping service keeping everything spick and span for you, there’s no need for you to lift a finger here. City breaks don’t come much easier than this.

Technically a studio, this home has been set up to make the most use of the little space there is. You’ll find surprises at every corner, like the hidden hob that pops up from under the kitchen counter. The host has also built USB ports into all the plugs, so you can charge your phone, or kindle without having to bring an adapter. The best part though is the Scandi-style bed, which is tucked away behind two asymmetrical walls, creating a minimalist, but cosy, sleeping area.

Visiting Berlin on business? This apartment has a sunny office ideal for working from home. Apart from the desk and speedy wi-fi, we think it's a stylish and comfortable pad to call home. Preparing tasty meals is a breeze in the kitchen – if you're not trying the international eateries on your doorstep, that is – and the living area is a cosy spot to unwind post-sightseeing. The layout is a tad snug in places (especially in the bedroom), but there's plenty of space for couples or solo travellers. You'll be based in Schöneberg, an eclectic neighbourhood with parks, cafes, and public transport a short walk away.

It’s recently renovated with a high-end kitchen and a gorgeous, bright terrace that’s great for escaping some of Berlin’s hustle and bustle. With a balcony that overlooks exclusive Kurfürstendamm (known as Ku’damm among locals), it doesn’t get more central than Cherry on Top. Tiergarten is moments away and exclusive KaDeWe is just across the street. It ticks all the boxes when it comes to location, as well as design. The host is an interior designer, so expect great attention to detail. We love the bio ethanol fireplace, and the soothing atmosphere combined with quirky artworks and cosy materials.

This jungle-inspired apartment offers a base in one of Berlin's greenest areas. While the Tiergarten Park and the city zoo sit nearby, there are eateries and a supermarket within strolling distance. It's ideal for romantic getaways and solo trips. We love that this home welcomes pets for an extra charge, too. The bottom of the king-sized bed sits against the wall, but there's a door on either side for easy access. Did we mention the small balcony for alfresco bites?

With its jungle-themed interior, this home is an ideal base among the leafy streets of Tiergarten. Great for two couples, the terrace overlooking a distinctive nearby church (the Church of the Twelve Apostles) is the perfect spot for a few twilight drinks. Inside, you'll find everything needed for a relaxed stay, including a dining table and a fully equipped kitchen for when you don't fancy eating out. When you do want to explore, though, you'll find plenty to do. We love the relaxing jungle-inspired interior, and the small balcony is a nice touch on warmer days. When it's colder, the underfloor heating helps make things cosy, and the well-equipped kitchenette means you can enjoy an extended morning at home with a cooked breakfast. When it's time to explore, the sprawling Tiergarten Park is just a short walk away, and you'll find plenty of beer gardens and eateries in the local area.

This apartment offers a cosy sanctuary amid the bohemian streets of Kreuzberg. Outside, you can stroll to local cafes and restaurants, and you’ll find it’s just a short walk to Viktoriapark. It’s worth noting there is no private parking here, but you will find great public transport links close by. Back at home, you can switch off with a movie in the living room. There is also a dedicated desk in the main bedroom and access to a small balcony – providing a sweet spot for evening drinks.

With neutral colours and leafy plants, the home itself is a relaxing space – perfect for unwinding after a busy day of business meetings or seeing the sights. You’ve also got a private terrace here if you want to soak up the sun or enjoy an alfresco meal.

This gorgeous apartment is the epitome of Berlin style. Located in the Schöneberg district of the city, it's ideal for guests traveling for business or for fun. 

You'll love the muted colour palette and chic furnishings, which create an elegant yet tranquil vibe throughout. Pop open a beer and get comfy on the sofa, then head into the kitchen to whip up your favourite home-cooked dishes when you get hungry. And, there's even a little balcony, so you can start each morning with an alfresco coffee before you go about your day. 

There are plenty of trendy cafés and boutiques in the surrounding streets, along with some locally run art galleries to explore. Berlin's zoo is within walking distance, and Großer Tiergarten, the city's largest public park is just a little further. And, if you want to visit iconic sights like the Brandenburg Gate or the East Side Gallery, you can easily get there using public transport. 

The Mission Statement

There are so many interesting aspects to this home, it’s hard to choose which to focus on. The building itself is clad with burnt wood and dark blue metal panels – there to reflect the site’s former space observatory. All the surfaces within the building are raw and honest, such as the exposed concrete, which shows the scars of construction. Sadly, this studio apartment is small, and the concrete columns within make it even more cramped. Nonetheless, this home is ideally located close to some of Berlin’s best attractions, such as the Jewish Museum and the Martin-Gropius-Bau. 

Relax, Take it Easy

The Big Easy is managed by the architecture company that designed the entire building, as well as the living units. This studio apartment is decked out with custom-made furniture, exposed concrete walls, and industrial flooring, to create an artistic loft-like space. We love the floor-to-ceiling windows and the private balcony is an added bonus. Overall, the minimalist approach might not appeal to all, but if you’re looking for a balance between home comforts and hotel-like luxuries, this is a great spot for you. 

The Big Easy

Minimalist vibes ooze from this chic Berlin apartment. The exposed concrete walls, high ceilings, custom-made furniture, and industrial-sized windows create a modern loft-like vibe. Unfortunately, the balcony is shared with the neighbouring apartment and the kitchenette offers minimal support for cooking, so it's not the kind of place where you cook up a storm. The lack of artwork on the walls might make it feel a little too minimalist to some, but if you're interested in architecture, we're sure you'll appreciate all the innovative and original features as much as we do.

Your host, Kitty, is an illustrator and this beautiful, luminescent apartment is her studio. We love how she’s transformed it into an elegant living space with more character than you can shake a paintbrush at. From her original art above the bed to her easels and paints sitting alongside an extraordinary collection of books and ornaments, this space is an art lover’s haven and a truly unique way in which to experience the city. The light here, too, is dazzling, pouring in through the floor-to-ceiling windows and French doors that lead out onto a private balcony. Sit here with your morning coffee and one of the many books, and relish the tranquillity of your inner courtyard setting. With a luxurious green-tiled tub (and the bathroom's underfloor heating) to retreat to after a day of exploring Berlin by foot, this home truly offers a canvas for a blissfully relaxing time. Outside of your home, you’ve got the Prenzlauer Berg neighbourhood on your doorstep packed with independent eateries, design boutiques, bike rentals, supermarkets, public parks and cosy coffee shops. Visit Mauerpark’s Sunday flea market (a twenty-five-minute walk), check out the KulturBrauerei for hip shops and music clubs (a fifteen-minute walk) or indulge in some retail therapy along trendy Kastanienallee and Alte Schönhauser Allee (both a twenty-minute stroll). Further afield, Museum Island – a UNESCO World Heritage Site – is a thirty-minute walk, while Alexanderplatz is ten minutes away on the subway.

Set in a building that used to be a space observatory, Easy Like A Sunday Morning is one for the architecture aficionados. It’s minimalist in the coolest way possible, with high ceilings, the raw and honest surfaces, as well as the concrete columns. And it’s managed by the same architecture firm that designed the building and living units, so expect lots of attention to detail. Sadly, the kitchen isn’t the biggest, but we like to think of that as an opportunity to explore the nearby area, which is full of both restaurants and museums.

Easy Like A Sunday Morning

The epitome of industrial chic, Easy Breezy comes with raw, exposed concrete walls and huge windows for panoramic city views, any time of the day. For architecture connoisseurs, this is the dream – not only is it surrounded by many important housing developments of the 1980s, but much of the furniture is also custom made by the architect’s office that owns the building. It’s set against the backdrop of lively Kreuzberg, so you’re also in good hands when it comes to great places to eat and drink.

Boasting breathtaking views across Berlin's rooftops, this lavish home in the beating heart of Friedrichshain provides an idyllic base for exploring the city. You'll find it in the lively Boxhagener Kiez neighbourhood, nestled in a leafy corner of Altbau architecture and surrounded by public transport links. Here, you're a four-minute stroll from Boxhagener Platz, famed for its weekly markets and trendy tangle of independent cafes, eateries, bars and boutiques. 

We love this home's thoughtful design aesthetic. Perched on the top floor, its open-plan layout boasts a loft-style charm adorned with vibrant artwork, stylish decor and high-end appliances. Every aspect of this home promises a want-for-nothing stay, from the fully-fitted kitchen and rooftop dining terrace to the high-end entertainment set-up, complete with a projector and sound system for those cosy movie nights in.

Throughout, it's a timeless canvas of white walls, oak parquet floors and large south-facing windows, ushering sunlight to flood the space. Spend mornings roosted on one of the four terraces and balconies, sipping coffee before slipping out to grab brunch - we recommend Silo, a two-minute walk away.

Here, you're a four-minute stroll from Rosenthaler Platz, with its bustling array of cafes, art galleries, eateries and bars, and handy public transport links.

You'll find this home tucked away in a leafy row of elegant, pastel-hued architecture. Inside, it's a timeless combination of high ceilings and parquet flooring, adorned with contemporary decor and a vibrant colour pallete. We love the open-plan living space, with its fully-equipped kitchen, dining table and cosy corners for relaxation, including a plush l-shaped sofa and little reading nook. 

Slide open the floor-to-ceiling glass doors and discover the sleek private balcony. Offering pretty views of the courtyard below, this is your very own secluded sanctuary from Mitte's hustle and bustle. After a restful slumber, spend mornings perched here, coffee cup in hand, enjoying the peace and quiet, before slipping out for breakfast. For baked goods and coffee, we recommend Zeit für Brot, five minutes away on foot and conveniently located next to Weinberg Park, a beautiful spot for picnics.

At the exact point where Kreuzberg meets Neukölln, we find The Blue Angel. Kreuzkölln, as the locals call it, is a blend of multiple identities - there’s the multicultural atmosphere, the hipster bars, and a mix of both expensive abodes and rundown buildings. The Blue Angel embodies all of it with its high ceilings and original plaster details paired with contemporary photo prints and vintage furniture in the kitchen.

Those who are particular about their design will fall head over heels for this penthouse apartment. For a start, the exterior is rather unique, as it's a new wooden development adapted respectfully on top of an industrial building dating back to 1905. The interior is a shining beacon of clean minimalism, in which every item has been selected carefully for maximum impact. The artwork on the walls, for example, is curated by different galleries and artists, and, as such, changes quite regularly. The kitchen, too, has been hidden away in a cabinet, so there's nothing but sleek white walls when it's not in use, and the linens are made from pure organic cotton. Sustainability is at the core of every piece of furniture and fixture within this home, with each piece carefully selected to have minimal environmental impact. Out through the glass doors — which are nothing but generous when it comes to natural light — you'll find the roof terrace, on which there's plenty of seating and a range of plants chosen for their fragrances, from bedstraw and thyme to wall pepper. Located in the quieter north of the Mitte district, there are lots of green spaces and historical curiosities to be found nearby, including the Silent Green Kulturquartier three minutes' walk away and Humbolthain state park only a quarter of an hour away.

Joie de Vivre oozes old-school elegance. It’s an old Altbau with high ceilings, herringbone floors, and striking crown moulding. It has everything you need for a good time – a projector for movie nights, bar accessories for making delicious cocktails, and a huge dining room with space for entertaining. Kurfürstendamm is only a stone’s throw away, so no need to hop onto the U-Bahn if you want to go shopping or have dinner in a glamorous restaurant.

It’s managed by the architecture company that designed the entire building, as well as the living units, so expect lots of little touches and hotel-like amenities. While the kitchen isn’t well-equipped (it’s definitely not suitable for cooking up a storm), we love the minimalist approach and artistic flair. Located in Kreuzberg, you’re close to attractions such as the Jewish Museum and the Martin-Gropius-Bau.

Easy Street

Show and Tell is one of those homes that’s brimming with charisma. From the high ceilings to the vintage mid-century furniture and Moroccan style tiles, small treasures are hiding around every corner waiting to be found. A family home to the bone, it also houses a piano (great for playing cheery tunes) and a stylish children’s bedroom with bunk beds. Moments away from Volkspark Friedrichshain, you’re in an attractive part of Berlin that’s full of soul.

Sexy with an edge of Hollywood Regency, this home couldn’t be better suited for a cosy couple in need of some glamour and luxury. Starting their journey in a restored elevator from the 1920s, guests will have an idyllic adventure before even stepping into the moody apartment underneath the gabled roof. Besides the plush bed linen, we love the light-projector show by photographer Kalstuht and the free-standing bath – this is an amorous space from top to bottom. 

The Roaring Twenties

Dry Humour is one of a kind. Located inside what used to be a brewery, the building is steeped in history. We adore the high ceilings and arched windows, both of which remind us of a different time. It also comes with a kitchen that’s very clearly made for cooking – the butcher’s block countertop is as cool as it is practical. The immediate area is on the more peaceful side, but you’re only a ten-minute walk from some of Berlin’s most charming hangouts – including Viktoriapark (one of our favourite parks in the city).

Dry Humour

Avocado might be small, but it’s well-suited for a stay in Berlin. It’s within walking distance to Rosenthaler Platz – one of our favourite spots in Mitte, filled with coffee shops, restaurants, and boutiques. Prenzlauer Berg is also not too far away. While it’s definitely not the kind of place you host a dinner party, it makes for a great, comfy, and cosy Berlin base.
