The Magic Flute is rich in history. Located just off lively Nyhavn, the building dates all the way back to 1658 (there’s a plaque at the entrance detailing all the owners throughout the years). With crooked, creaky floors, it’s oozing old charm – and paired with Matilde’s artwork, instruments, and personality, it becomes one of a kind. She’s an opera singer and works just down the road in the Royal Opera House, which only makes this home even more special.

The Magic Flute

Situated in Copenhagen’s bustling Amager district, this 17th-century trading house is home to one of the sleekest apartments this side of the Baltic. 

If you love Scandinavian design, you’ll love the interior here. Dreamt up by FABRK Studio, a team of local architects, its dark wood fixtures and Calacatta marble accents make this place feel more chic city hideout than typical hotel alternative. It’s not style over substance here though – boasting all the amenities you’d expect from a high-end holiday rental, this apartment has everything you need for a comfortable stay in the Capital. 

Wake up to refreshing views of Amalie Garden then head out to explore the city. You don’t need us to tell you that there’s plenty to do here but if you’re looking for recommendations, why not wander over to the terraces at Sankt Annæ for a light breakfast before making your way to Jægersborggade for a spot of boutique shopping? Whether you choose to spend all day sightseeing or sampling delicious food at one of Copenhagen’s many high-end restaurants, you’ll love coming home to your sleek apartment and enjoying a well-deserved glass of wine on the terrace before turning in for the night. We don't know about you but that sounds pretty perfect to us. 

Harbourside Chic

Just steps from Amalienborg Palace, this apartment is a fantastic choice of base in Copenhagen. You’ll have parks and top-tier restaurants nearby, though this home boasts a well-equipped, modern kitchen if you’d rather dine in. The colourful canals of Nyhavn are a fifteen-minute walk away. The apartment has been designed to blend the old and new, with bold splashes of colour juxtaposing the more traditional decor. There’s lots of space for you to spend time together, around the large dining table or in the cosy living room. Guests seven and eight will sleep on a sofa bed in the living space, which may be more suitable for shorter stays. 

Danish Days

Ideally located and only two minutes from Amalienborg Palace, this stylish and immaculate home with plenty of space. With four bedrooms, two living spaces and an open-plan kitchen/dining area, large groups will be very comfortable here. The glass-walled bedrooms might leave you feeling a little exposed, but they are a cool design feature that adds a unique feel. As well as being close to the Queen's winter residence, you're also only a five-minute walk from the iconic canalside district of Nyhavn. It's the perfect place to while away a long summer's evening. Either with a cold one on the quayside like the locals or at one of the many restaurants overlooking the old tall ships.

Order of the Elephant

Located in a quiet corner of Indre By but just a five-minute walk from the 17th century Nyhavn waterfront, this bright and welcoming apartment puts you right in the heart of Copenhagen’s action. We love the homey comforts on offer here, from the sheepskin throws to the inviting Scandi and vintage furnishings and the large windows proferring fourth-floor views over the city’s rooftops. Our favourite spot is the private balcony with its views of Christiansborg’s spire. Sit here with your morning coffee while soaking up the fresh air or gather at the elegant dining table with the French doors open to enjoy the warmth and cosiness of your home. With plenty of curios decking the shelves, original artwork, a record player to serenade your evenings and a beautiful antique bureau on which to catch up on work, you’re all set for a relaxing time here, whether for business or pleasure. Factor in the luxurious Hästens bed for a dreamy night’s sleep and you may never leave your comfortable home. When you do, however, you’ll be wowed by the countless sights within easy reach on foot, including the Kongens Nytorv (seven minutes), Strøget’s upscale shops and indie boutiques (twelve minutes) and the Tivoli Gardens (fifteen minutes).


Ballet Shoes

What a great location this studio has in Dronningegården. You’ll be situated a short stroll away from Kongens Have (The King’s Garden), while the city’s largest square, Kongens Nytor, is nearby too. This studio apartment is housed in a 1950s building, and the minimalist interiors are a nod to that era. We should also mention there’s free access to the local gym if you want to keep up your fitness regime while in Copenhagen. This home is just the ticket for a couple or solo traveller looking for an excellent address.

Queens Courtyard

Centrally located and chicly styled, this apartment ticks all of our boxes. You'll be based in lively Indre By, just a short walk from Nyhavn's colourful harbour and Strøget's many shops. But even better than the location is the private roof terrace back home. It's the perfect spot to enjoy a Danish beer and admire the city views. Indoors, the pared-back interiors feature natural elements and lots of light. The kitchen isn't the biggest and there is some adult-themed artwork, but otherwise, it's a cosy option in the heart of the city.

A Viking Hideaway

If you end up staying in Cloud Underground, you’ll be getting some very fancy neighbours. Amalienborg Palace (the Danish queen’s home) is just down the road – and it’s actually also located along the Crown Prince’s preferred biking route, so don’t be scared if he whizzes past you. With its Scandinavian-meets-industrial vibe, it’s the kind of place you look forward to coming home to at the end of a long day of sightseeing. Oh, and did we forget to mention that it’s within walking distance to everyone’s favourite statue, The Little Mermaid?

Cloud Underground

This stunning apartment is a real one-of-a-kind in the Danish capital. Not only is it in a wonderful location (the Little Mermaid and Amalienborg Palace are only ten minutes away), but it merges historic features with contemporary Danish design in the most elegant way possible. It's a rarity to find homes this large in Copenhagen – especially complete with modern bathrooms – so we were thrilled when this one came across our desk. The bedrooms are among the most stylish we're seen, with forest green feature walls, eye-catching artwork and headboards held by leather straps. While the Crittal-style glass partition walls of the second and third bedrooms are certainly a conversation starter. On long summer days, a couple of French doors open out onto Juliette balconies so you can let the fresh air and that city buzz inside. As a bonus, this three-bedroom home is located along the Crown Prince's preferred cycling route, so you might catch a glimpse of him as he whizzes past on his bike. So if you're set on exploring Copenhagen on foot, by bike, or on the water, this is the ideal choice for you.

The Design Show

Chic and stylish, this apartment makes for an excellent base in Copenhagen. You’ll have everything you need here for a city break, including a fully-equipped kitchen with a Nespresso machine. At full occupancy, two guests will sleep on a sofa bed in the living space – those planning long-term stays might be more comfortable with a guest count of four. The apartment is perfectly located for sightseeing, with Amalienborg Palace and Nyhavn just five minutes away. Those hoping for a spot of retail therapy will be delighted to be so close to Strøget. 

Curated Copenhagen

Set in one of the most sought-after parts of Copenhagen, this central spot in Indre By (downtown) encompasses the very best of what the city has to offer. With its great boutiques, eateries, coffee shops and bars to make the most of, you'll be in gourmet heaven here. Take a stroll along the harbour of Nyhavn for a more laid-back setting, or soak up some culture at the famed Little Mermaid statue, which perches on a rock near Slotsholmen, an island home to museums and the Danish Parliament – just ten minutes away on foot. 

Whether your days spent here are action-packed or laid-back and relaxed, enjoy returning to this beautifully serene apartment at the end of the day. Dressed in neutral hues, with soft furnishings and delicate styling details, the apartment presents a fabulous space to unwind with a glass of wine in hand. For meal times when you don't feel like eating out, the large dining area provides an idyllic setting to share your own homemade culinary delights. If you need to work from home, you can also set up a laptop and stay connected with ease. And with a secluded terrace space featuring outdoor furniture and a barbecue, you needn't miss out on the sunshine either, as you can spend sunny afternoons soaking up some vitamin D or taking in the stunning architecture of the street below.
