It’s a 500m stroll to the waterfront, where you can follow the promenade straight to the soft-sanded beach. The apartment itself is a charming medley of sleek modernism and boho touches. The monochrome kitchen has everything you need for self-catering and the cosy living area has raw wood touches and throws adding a bit of character. But it was the view that was our favourite part. Spend mornings exploring your locale – you’re a ten-minute walk from the Dénia Castle and eighteen minutes from the Marineta Casiana Beach. If you’re feeling curious, take the twenty-minute drive to Parc Natural del Montgó for stunning hiking routes or catch the ferry from the port to the dazzling Balearic Islands.

Situated in Jávea, you’ll be just five kilometres from sandy beaches and the Medieval streets of the old town. Situated high up in the hills, you’ll have plenty of peace, privacy and incredible views over the mountains and valley, but bear in mind that a car is necessary to reach the villa. If you’d rather not venture out, three levels offer plenty of space to relax, plus a garden containing a private pool and Jacuzzi for those alfresco evenings.

Just a three minute walk to the nearest sandy beach of Arenal, you'll be spoilt for choice when it comes to choosing somewhere for dinner, a morning coffee, or a glass of sangria as you watch the world go by. There is also a rocky beach just a stone's throw from the apartment, where you can enjoy excellent snorkelling, scuba diving and fishing. The pretty port and historic old town of Javea is just three kilometres away, and you'll find two prestigious golf courses within around a twenty minute radius.

Whether you've spent that day playing a few holes, soaking up the southern Spanish sunshine on your favourite local beach, or exploring the beguiling backstreets of Javea – unmistakably Spanish with their whitewashed houses adorned with bright swathes of bougainvillea – you can always return to the comfort and calm of this home away from home. Cook up something tasty in the kitchen (we especially love preparing a steam pan of Arroz a la Banda, Alicante’s take on typical paella), before heading out onto the balcony that overlooks the communal swimming pool, perhaps breaking out the board games to while away the evening as dusk turns into a star-speckled night.

This is a villa that will have even the most hard-to-please guests grinning. A lot of that is down to its fabulous views of the glistening Mediterranean and Isla del Portitxol, but special praise also goes to the peaceful swimming pool surrounded by treetops and the covered terrace complete with an alfresco dining table. Although some of the bathrooms are a little dated, we've only got kind words for the three-level layout – we particularly love the main bedroom with a sea-facing balcony. To top it all off, you don't have far to venture for beautiful gold-sand beaches, either.

With sea views and plenty of spots to soak up the rays, this villa makes an ideal Costa Blanca retreat. Everyone will enjoy the swimming pool, while the covered terrace and sun-kissed sitting area are perfect for dinner and drinks in the coastal breeze. Sure, the design isn't the most modern, but there's a lot of room to spread out inside – not to mention it's kitted out with everything you need for a fuss-free stay. A car is a must here, as this home is located in the hills above the town. Still, it's just a short drive to Jávea's beaches, restaurants, and buzzing centre.

Marina Alta is a coastal region that can please just about everyone  – from history buffs to beach bums, and hikers to urbanites, this region of Spain isn’t just all about waterside delights. Just a ten-minute drive inland from the picturesque town of Altea (and don’t worry, you will pass beaches en route), you’ll love unwinding in this zen-like villa. 

Traditional whitewashed walls and a terracotta roof are right on par with what you might expect in the area. But as you step inside, passing interesting shrubbery and succulents outside, the vibe is altogether more modern. We love the fresh and bright living space, with a cherry-red sofa suite and an ornately carved, wooden cabinet. Oversized bamboo canes and a woven lampshade complete the look as you move to the sunroom – a striking cylindrical structure that really sets the architecture apart from rustic traditions.

From here, peer out to your secluded gardens. Lush, green, and shaded by palms, the immaculate lawn surrounds a private, heated pool. Wander around to find orange trees popping up in the grass, and terracotta tiles leading up a staircase to the roof terrace – it's much easier to survey your kingdom from up here.

There’s a playful charm to this peach-pink villa on the outskirts of the northern port city of Dénia. We love the pretty curved archways shading the patio terrace – the perfect spot for morning coffees and sunny views of the surrounding villas and palm-lined swimming pool below. Head inside for an open-plan living room and dining area with tiled-flooring, comfy furnishings and homely rugs creating a sociable yet homely ambience. Back outside, you’ll revel in your private al fresco dining area or late-afternoon snoozing spot, with the turquoise pool water beckoning you in for a cooling dip. This villa sits in a tranquil residential area where you’ll be a twenty-minute walk from Costa Blanca’s warm golden sand beaches. While the decor isn’t the most exciting in our collection, the home nonetheless benefits from a communal pool area – as well as a children’s pool for little ones – and beautifully manicured gardens with sea views. You’ll also find bars and the promenade within 500 metres, Altea within 2 kilometres, not to mention plenty of outdoor activities on hand nearby, including hiking, cycling, kayaking, fishing, diving, snorkelling and waterskiing.

Immediately, this home is a sight to behold. An impressive contemporary design of sharp edges and white stone stands bold against pine-clad hillside. Location-wise, you’ll find the beach is just a short walk away, while restaurants and shops are also within easy reach.

On the fifth floor with lift access, this home is a great base for exploring the promenade, beach, and cultural sights. There's always the chance of hearing some noise from neighbours, so if you're a light sleeper it may be worth packing earplugs. With a communal garden, the sea right on your doorstep and the whole of Altea to explore by car, you can't get much closer to the action.

Being situated on a resort, this home is tailor-made for the family. When you're not lounging on the beach you'll likely be splashing around in the communal pool. The kids even have their own children's pool to enjoy. But when you don't want to get wet, why not admire from afar? With two balconies to utilise at this home, you'll always have wonderful views of turqoise waters and swaying palm trees to look at. We particularly like the master bedroom's private balcony, which will definitely be your go-to for a romantic sangria after the kids have gone to bed.

Designed around leisure, the apartment complex features an indoor and outdoor pool, a fitness room and a hammam and sauna room - all for guests to use at their own disposal. 

Situated in Benitachell, just a ten-minute drive away from Moraig Beach, you'll be in a prime position for exploring the sandy shores of the Alicante coastline – with plenty of shops, bars and waterfront restaurants waiting to be discovered.

Situated just a short drive from the coastal town of Moraira, this modern villa is a great base for a family stay on the Costa Blanca. You’ll need a car to reach the beach and explore the local area, but you’ll also have fabulous sea views to take advantage of back home. Our eye was immediately drawn to the outdoor areas – hello, private pool – and the villa's stylish and light-filled interiors are the icing on the cake. There are some steep stairs to climb inside, though – it may not suit guests with reduced mobility.

Just a hop, skip and jump from Jávea’s old town lined with cafes and restaurants, you’re never far away from authentic Spanish cuisine when you stay at this villa. If dining out’s not top of your wishlist though, a trip to one of the town’s two blue flag beaches is sure to be. Within easy reach, you just need to choose between pebbled La Grava, lined by a promenade, or the golden sands of Arenal Bay. Time to relax? Head home to the private pool, sun-kissed terraces and Mediterranean Sea views for a serene evening.

Just a short stroll from the centre of Moraira, this home invites you to slow down and experience the magic of coastal living. It’s also family-friendly with children’s amenities available on request and plenty of socialising space both inside and out. Private parking is available here and your host is on hand to help organise airport transfers and excursions. 


Glory of the Sun

An ideal setting for large family gatherings, this sprawling homestead is made up of four separate buildings. Alongside the main house, there's a casita ideal for kids and a wooden lodge for those wanting extra privacy – though some people will sleep on sofa beds. Our favourite is the summer kitchen, where all twenty-three guests can tuck into tapas together. The pool will also be a big hit, even if there are only eight loungers. Location-wise, you'll be 22 kilometres from the beach in Guardamar del Segura. Also within driving distance is Alicante if you want to explore further afield.

Alicante Enchantress

Nestled in a quiet spot in Altea, this villa has a private pool, three floors and two terraces to stretch your legs on. While some of the furnishings might be a little dated, the views from the bedrooms' balconies are fantastic.  The outdoor amenities make this home shine, with a lush garden to tire out the kids, sunbeds for the grown-ups, and alfresco dining facilities. Altea la Vieja is a brisk twenty-minute walk from your doorstep, known for its restaurants and golf course.

Swimming in the Shade

There’s much people-watching and sea-admiring to be done from the veranda of this chic beachside apartment, perched just five metres from the golden shores and impossibly blue sea of Levante Beach.

Housed in a towering high-rise (that’s where the Benidorm clichés end), inside this swish apartment dazzles in crisp white and marble-clad finishes with natural daylight pouring in through the floor-to-ceiling windows. And you’ll love the luxurious feel of the bedrooms bringing boutique-hotel vibes and a hydro massage shower to kick start your day.

When thoughts turn to food, cooking is a joy in that made-for-action designer kitchen with a breakfast bar for guests to perch and keep the nominated chef of your crew company. Or get your glad rags on and stroll along the seafront for dinner in Benidorm’s pretty Old Town. Time it right, and you’ll be rewarded with the most magnificent sunsets from the Mirador, where the castle once stood.

The Lady in Gold

This villa caught our eye for its incredible sea views – and with five terraces and three balconies, there are plenty of spots to enjoy them from. You’ve also got a private pool and the use of a fitness centre and sauna to make your stay even more enjoyable. Inside, the contemporary living spaces offer ocean vistas and all of the bedrooms are ensuite for added privacy. The historic town of Javea, with its many shops, restaurants and tapas bars, is a 10km drive away and if you fancy eating in, your host can help arrange a cooking service so you won’t have to lift a finger.

Ocean Vistas

This spacious and well-located villa is a good option for a family or group of friends wanting to holiday in Denia, Costa Blanca. There's a fully equipped kitchen and comfortable living room area to relax in – albeit a little dated in terms of decor. Equipped for all seasons, there's a fireplace for cooler evenings and air conditioning for the summer months. We love the lawned gardens surrounding this family-friendly home – they boast superb sea and mountain views and include a large private pool and BBQ area too. While you can explore the local area on foot, we suggest a car for ease – Parc Natural del Montgó is less than 2km from the villa.

The green vistas and pretty enclosed gardens of this traditional villa perched on the hillsides of Javea are charming. Well-geared for family holidays close to the sea, kids will love you for that outdoor playground and trampoline, and you'll all appreciate those shady terraces and private pool when it's time to beat the heat. Location-wise, you're just a five-kilometre drive to the horseshoe-shaped El Arenal Beach. With shallow waters and gently shelving sands, it's perfect for little ones.
