This coastal pet-friendly apartment has a balcony overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, with one of Guardamar's golden sandy beaches right on your doorstep. The furnishings are a little dated, and we think the place could do with an update, but being on the fifth floor ensures you'll have lovely views. We recommend having a car here for day trips up to the cities of Alicante or Elche, but Centre Beach, as well as Guardamar's local shops, cafes and restaurants, are all within walking distance.

With its perfectly pitched and elevated position, overlooking the fauna-studded landscape and out across the Mediterranean, this home invites you to experience the height of relaxation. 

You'll likely find yourselves stretched out by the infinity pool much of the time. And with sleek sun loungers, a sumptuous outdoor lounge and a barbecue, as well as an outdoor fireplace that glows into the dark hours of the evening – we can see exactly why you'd want to spend the majority of your stay out here.  

The interior, however, is just as sublime, as minimalist designs showcase a laid-back space packed with style and amenities. This villa covers all bases – there’s a basement kitted out with a playroom and plenty of space for the little ones to run around, a pool table for the teens of the group to keep entertained, and private pockets for adult socialisation – we think the terrace chairs are an idyllic spot to share sangrias at sunset. And when the whole group wants to come together, there’s a huge living room for games nights, though we expect the infinity pool takes the top spot.

When you can tear yourselves away from this slice of paradise here, you'll be located a short drive away from the pristine sands of Platja del Mocayo and an array of bars and restaurants. And if you’re here to practice your swing, you’re just moments away from La Marquesa Golf Course.

If you're looking for your own tropical paradise to take the family to, then look no further than this gorgeous Spanish home. Set on a huge plot of land, you'll have the freedom to roam around the beautifully tranquil patio and garden areas surrounding the villa. Wake up early and take in the golden morning sunshine on the terracotta tiled patio before serving up a family continental breakfast with café con leches in the garden. You will feel surrounded by nature here, with plenty of lush green spaces to enjoy. The star of the show is the swimming pool area though, which has palm trees dotted all around looking like they're part of a tropical chess board. We guarantee you'll be spending your afternoons here splashing around and making memories under the swaying palms.

The inside of the home itself is a lovely blend of modern furnishings mixed with traditional features. You probably won't be spending much of your time inside on the hot days, but during the cold nights, you can look forward to snuggling up around the lounge woodburner while sharing stories. When looking to venture outside of this wonderful home, you'll be glad to know you're in a prime location to take advantage of the area. It won't take you long to be swimming in the Meditteranean – Guardamar del Segura beach is only 13km away. Trips into the city of Murcia are a must too. It's not too far by car, and when you're there, you'll be able to wander its historic streets and admire its beautiful architecture. Murcia is a great day out for the whole family.

An ideal setting for large family gatherings, this sprawling homestead is made up of four separate buildings. Alongside the main house, there's a casita ideal for kids and a wooden lodge for those wanting extra privacy – though some people will sleep on sofa beds. Our favourite is the summer kitchen, where all twenty-three guests can tuck into tapas together. The pool will also be a big hit, even if there are only eight loungers. Location-wise, you'll be 22 kilometres from the beach in Guardamar del Segura. Also within driving distance is Alicante if you want to explore further afield.

This modern villa boasts an incredible location with an infinity swimming pool and stunning views of the Mediterranean coastline below. Spend your days soaking up the sun on one of the loungers, or bag a retro stripy deckchair in the shade and dive into the pool when the heat gets to you. Or, with the beach just a five-minute drive away, perhaps you'd rather relax on the sand. Have a light lunch at home or head to the town for some tapas, with everything from traditional Valencian restaurants to quirky eateries on your doorstep. Return home to catch those spectacular sunsets and cook a barbecue as the sun sets over the sea, turning the sky pink and silhouetting the rugged islands off the coast. A huge sliding wall of glass separates the indoor living space with the outdoors, so there’s plenty of opportunity to cook in the sleek, modern kitchen and serve under the parasols on the pool terrace. This extends to the garden, where you'll find a swimming pool hidden among the trees. Surrounded by the Sierra Espuña, you're unlikely to encounter anyone else in this remote spot, but if you're missing the bustle of the coast, it's a 45-minute drive to Puerto de Mazarrón. Nearer your home, the village of Aledo is home to an impressive Moorish castle worth exploring, or you might walk the hiking trails in the Sierra Espuña. After a long day, cook dinner in the kitchen – which despite retaining its traditional style, contains modern amenities such as a microwave, dishwasher, and freezer – and dine outside on the terrace. As the night draws in, settle back in front of the fireplace with a glass of wine.

This modern villa is the perfect retreat for those looking for a restful break. You’re a little further removed from the touristy areas here, which means you can really unwind. We recommend hiring a car or two to make the most of your time here – there are golf courses and beaches to discover. There’s plenty of room for you to spend time together at the villa, though two guests will be sleeping on a sofa bed in the living room – it’s still a comfy spot. We love the terrace for alfresco dining, and the private pool is sure to please.

Smack bang in the heart of delightful Dénia, this no-fuss apartment is perfect for couples or solo travellers looking for some rest and relaxation on the Costa Blanca. Inside, the place strikes a balance between comfort and function. There’s a compact kitchen equipped for quick meals and a quiet bedroom to ensure a peaceful sleep night after night. But it was the view that was our favourite part. We could’ve spent hours on that modular chair, watching the palm trees sway and the boats to and fro from the harbour, only breaking our gaze to open a bottle of Rioja as the sun sets. Spend mornings exploring your locale – you’re a ten-minute walk from the Dénia Castle and eighteen minutes from the Marineta Casiana Beach. If you’re feeling curious, take the twenty-minute drive to Parc Natural del Montgó for stunning hiking routes or catch the ferry from the port to the dazzling Balearic Islands. 

Where The Boats Go By

If you’ve always hoped to hear the ocean’s roar from your bedroom, this beachfront Benidorm home might be your new favourite location. Leading right onto the golden sands of Playa de Levante, stroll out onto the beach, where you can position yourself for a morning of Mediterranean sun and fresh air. 

Meander back to your apartment, grab a takeaway pizza at a local restaurant, and enjoy lunch at the dining table with the salty air breezing through the gaping doors. Maintain your view of the oceanfront as you pour wine in the kitchen and sit around the table, socialising long after the last crust is gone.

Set far enough back from Arenal beachfront to avoid the hustle and bustle, yet with the sandy shores a mere five-minute walk away, this apartment treats you to the best of both worlds. While the view from the private balcony is out onto the road and apartments opposite, you can still enjoy a peek of the sea. It’s also a nice spot for an evening glass of sangria. And if you need to cool off but don’t fancy the beach, the communal pool is just the ticket for a refreshing dip.

This is a villa that will have even the most hard-to-please guests grinning. A lot of that is down to its fabulous views of the glistening Mediterranean and Isla del Portitxol, but special praise also goes to the peaceful swimming pool surrounded by treetops and the covered terrace complete with an alfresco dining table. Although some of the bathrooms are a little dated, we've only got kind words for the three-level layout – we particularly love the main bedroom with a sea-facing balcony. To top it all off, you don't have far to venture for beautiful gold-sand beaches, either.

On the fifth floor with lift access, this home is a great base for exploring the promenade, beach, and cultural sights. There's always the chance of hearing some noise from neighbours, so if you're a light sleeper it may be worth packing earplugs. With a communal garden, the sea right on your doorstep and the whole of Altea to explore by car, you can't get much closer to the action.

This holiday villa has its own heated pool and great views of the sea from its balcony. Spread over two floors, it might not be the best choice for less mobile guests. With bikes available for free and a range of children's equipment available to rent, we think this home is great for families with young children. Within a twenty-minute walk, you'll reach the nearest beaches and central Moraira, known for its historic castle and great restaurants.

Where Montgo Natural Park meets the marine reserve of Cap de Sant Antoni, you are truly in the heart of it all at this three-level mountain mansion here in Valencia. Panoramic views wrap around the whole villa, surrounding you with stunning scenery that stretches right from the valley down to the sea. From sofa seating on the balcony to pool loungers and cushioned benches down in the garden, there are no cheap seats here. Swap a view of the mountainside for proximity to the grand swimming pool, with plenty of spots to relax. With an outdoor shower, barbecue and multiple dining areas, you can spend your days basking in the Spanish sunshine. Local activities include golf at the local course, a surf-and-sailing school and tennis, as well as boat trips out to nearby islands. We love the lawned gardens surrounding this family-friendly home – they boast superb sea and mountain views and include a large private pool and BBQ area too. While you can explore the local area on foot, we suggest a car for ease – Parc Natural del Montgó is less than 2km from the villa.

This charming villa with views of the Montgó, otherwise known as the Elephant, is a great setting to spend quality time with your loved ones. With mostly ensuite bedrooms, a private pool and a room to work out in, it has a lot going for it. We like the various sunny and shaded outdoor seating areas – with the poolside marquis being our favourite spot. The centre of Beniarbeig, with its shops and restaurants, is within walking distance of the villa and the nearest beach of Denia is only a short drive away.

This quintessentially Spanish villa makes a great home to spend a happy summer holiday in. It is based in the beautiful region of Javea in Alicante, just a short drive from the stunning Parc Natural del Montgó, ideal for those looking to explore some Spanish nature. Inside, the home is charming and characterful, with a mix of traditional touches and modern flair – the outside is where this home truly shines, however. Here, you'll find a stunning private pool, as well as a hot tub for resting weary muscles after long hikes in the hills. Not far from the golden sand beaches and secret coves of Costa Blanca, this home is a slice of serenity on the Spanish coast. Thick wooden oak beams, white arched walls, and pastoral paintings give the space a traditional feel. There are some quirky stylings too: the candy pink bathroom with its jet tub feels very 50s, as do the cream sofas in the large living space. There's oodles of space for groups, though we suspect most of your time will be spent outside. Nab your spot on a sun lounger by the long pool or wander through the verdant gardens to find a stone pergola – perfect for siestas. There are several good restaurants within easy walking distance, but with such a peaceful location, we prefer to stock up on local goodies and feast while seated on the wrought-iron furniture back at the home.

It's plain to see that somebody with a real eye for design has worked their magic on this townhouse found in the coastal town of Calp. Everywhere you look inside, there are tasteful touches, from the dining table made from a repurposed door and the unashamedly bright colours on the walls to the sheer range of objets d'art dotted about the home.

We're also happy to say that there's plenty of substance behind this style. The sleek black kitchen not only looks the part, but it's also well-equipped for whipping up a feast. We're also fond of the terrace, which has views out over the rooftops and verdant hillsides beyond.

When you're ready to get to know the locale a little better, you'll be surprised at how much there is to see. All of three minutes' walk from the home is Torreó de la Peça, the centuries-old defensive walls built to protect the town from marauders. Arena-Bol beach is a ten-minute walk, while further along the coastline, it's possible to head up to the top of Penyal d'Ifac in just over an hour on foot for some incredible views.

There’s also a covered terrace that makes a great spot for alfresco dining, or sundowners with loved ones.

Wake up on sunny mornings and head outside to lay on a lounger with a freshly squeezed orange juice and a good book. As the heat rises, get some shade under one of the leafy trees, or cool off with a swim and a splash in the pool. If you want to venture out, head to Arenal beach for sunbathing and sea-swimming, or tee off at Javea’s golf course, based just 5km away. Head home and fire up the barbecue to grill some Spanish chicken and dine all together around your alfresco table. In the evenings, gather on your shaded terrace and toast to your beautiful getaway.

This villa caught our eye for its incredible sea views – and with five terraces and three balconies, there are plenty of spots to enjoy them from. You’ve also got a private pool and the use of a fitness centre and sauna to make your stay even more enjoyable. Inside, the contemporary living spaces offer ocean vistas and all of the bedrooms are ensuite for added privacy. The historic town of Javea, with its many shops, restaurants and tapas bars, is a 10km drive away and if you fancy eating in, your host can help arrange a cooking service so you won’t have to lift a finger.

Lying back on a sunlounger on the stone terrace of this typically Mediterrannean villa, gaze out over the hills that surround Villajoyosa and allow yourself to completely unwind. The villa is ideal for a chilled-out holiday on the Costa Blanca, thanks to its sea views, and terrace perfect for drawn-out lunches. Wander into the traditional town of Villajoyosa to pick up some fresh fish from the daily market for a relaxed barbecued dinner. Luckily, it’s also within easy reach of Benidorm, meaning nightlife and attractions are only a short journey away.

Just 5 kilometres from the sandy Playa s'Arenal and surf school, the outdoor hangouts don't have to stop at this home. There's a sprawling garden and a private pool to enjoy in your downtime. Overlooking the countryside, the upstairs terrace is the go-to dining spot. You won't have access to the unoccupied parts of this villa. But it's best suited to families of up to six, as long as one guest doesn't mind sleeping on a pull-out bed. With an open-hearth fireplace, cosy winter getaways are on the cards, too.

Artwork, in stark contrast, is bold with huge colourful prints hung in each room. We won't be surprised if you miss all those details, however, as it's the views that will have you enraptured. Looking out over the Mediterranean ocean, the home has floor-to-ceiling windows for uninterrupted panoramas – from the master bed when you wake up to your mid-afternoon soak in the standalone bathtub. Head out for a closer inspection, with a blue infinity pool to make you feel like you're floating, while the upstairs balcony is unbeatable for watching the sunset.

Enjoying an enviable position on Spain’s Costa Blanca, this vibrant home is within easy walking distance of Calpe’s best beaches. Cala La Calalga’s the closest, but the others are worth a visit too – not to mention, you’re just a short drive from Penyal d'Ifac Natural Park, one of the most scenic hiking spots this side of the Balearic. There’s nothing noteworthy about this home’s interior, but there’s plenty of space for a large group to spread out. And although not every room benefits from air conditioning, there’s a private pool at your disposal if you need to cool down when temperatures reach their peak.

Dreams of Amarillo

This spacious and well-located villa is split across two floors, creating two separate apartments – each with its own entrance. Both levels have their own bedrooms, kitchen, living room, dining area, and swimming pool – one on each side of the property. We think it's an excellent option for two families or a large group of friends holidaying together in Calp. The interiors are quite basic and the decor is dated – but there's plenty of room here and the home has all of the necessary amenities you need for a comfortable self-catered stay. We recommend a car for ease – some beautiful sandy beaches are just a short drive away.
