This charming villa with views of the Montgó, otherwise known as the Elephant, is a great setting to spend quality time with your loved ones. With mostly ensuite bedrooms, a private pool and a room to work out in, it has a lot going for it. We like the various sunny and shaded outdoor seating areas – with the poolside marquis being our favourite spot. The centre of Beniarbeig, with its shops and restaurants, is within walking distance of the villa and the nearest beach of Denia is only a short drive away.

Smack bang in the heart of delightful Dénia, this no-fuss apartment is perfect for couples or solo travellers looking for some rest and relaxation on the Costa Blanca. Inside, the place strikes a balance between comfort and function. There’s a compact kitchen equipped for quick meals and a quiet bedroom to ensure a peaceful sleep night after night. But it was the view that was our favourite part. We could’ve spent hours on that modular chair, watching the palm trees sway and the boats to and fro from the harbour, only breaking our gaze to open a bottle of Rioja as the sun sets. Spend mornings exploring your locale – you’re a ten-minute walk from the Dénia Castle and eighteen minutes from the Marineta Casiana Beach. If you’re feeling curious, take the twenty-minute drive to Parc Natural del Montgó for stunning hiking routes or catch the ferry from the port to the dazzling Balearic Islands.

Set far enough back from Arenal beachfront to avoid the hustle and bustle, yet with the sandy shores a mere five-minute walk away, this apartment treats you to the best of both worlds. While the view from the private balcony is out onto the road and apartments opposite, you can still enjoy a peek of the sea. It’s also a nice spot for an evening glass of sangria. And if you need to cool off but don’t fancy the beach, the communal pool is just the ticket for a refreshing dip.

This is a villa that will have even the most hard-to-please guests grinning. A lot of that is down to its fabulous views of the glistening Mediterranean and Isla del Portitxol, but special praise also goes to the peaceful swimming pool surrounded by treetops and the covered terrace complete with an alfresco dining table. Although some of the bathrooms are a little dated, we've only got kind words for the three-level layout – we particularly love the main bedroom with a sea-facing balcony. To top it all off, you don't have far to venture for beautiful gold-sand beaches, either.

Where Montgo Natural Park meets the marine reserve of Cap de Sant Antoni, you are truly in the heart of it all at this three-level mountain mansion here in Valencia. Panoramic views wrap around the whole villa, surrounding you with stunning scenery that stretches right from the valley down to the sea. From sofa seating on the balcony to pool loungers and cushioned benches down in the garden, there are no cheap seats here. Swap a view of the mountainside for proximity to the grand swimming pool, with plenty of spots to relax. With an outdoor shower, barbecue and multiple dining areas, you can spend your days basking in the Spanish sunshine. Local activities include golf at the local course, a surf-and-sailing school and tennis, as well as boat trips out to nearby islands. This spacious and well-located villa is a good option for a family or group of friends wanting to holiday in Denia, Costa Blanca. There's a fully equipped kitchen and comfortable living room area to relax in – albeit a little dated in terms of decor. Equipped for all seasons, there's a fireplace for cooler evenings and air conditioning for the summer months. We love the lawned gardens surrounding this family-friendly home – they boast superb sea and mountain views and include a large private pool and BBQ area too. While you can explore the local area on foot, we suggest a car for ease – Parc Natural del Montgó is less than 2km from the villa.

It's plain to see that somebody with a real eye for design has worked their magic on this townhouse found in the coastal town of Calp. Everywhere you look inside, there are tasteful touches, from the dining table made from a repurposed door and the unashamedly bright colours on the walls to the sheer range of objets d'art dotted about the home.

We're also happy to say that there's plenty of substance behind this style. The sleek black kitchen not only looks the part, but it's also well-equipped for whipping up a feast. We're also fond of the terrace, which has views out over the rooftops and verdant hillsides beyond.

When you're ready to get to know the locale a little better, you'll be surprised at how much there is to see. All of three minutes' walk from the home is Torreó de la Peça, the centuries-old defensive walls built to protect the town from marauders. Arena-Bol beach is a ten-minute walk, while further along the coastline, it's possible to head up to the top of Penyal d'Ifac in just over an hour on foot for some incredible views.

What’s better than waking up to a fresh cup of cafe con leche? Perhaps only waking up to your morning brew accompanied by vistas over the Med. At this characterful home, you’ll have the perfect backdrop and morning pick-me-up, courtesy of your hillside vantage point and your own coffee machine. Split over three levels, this terraced house combines clean lines with traditional touches such as terracotta floor tiles and wood furnishings, lending the space a distinct sense of place. Marina Alta is a coastal region that can please just about everyone  – from history buffs to beach bums, and hikers to urbanites, this region of Spain isn’t just all about waterside delights. Just a ten-minute drive inland from the picturesque town of Altea (and don’t worry, you will pass beaches en route), you’ll love unwinding in this zen-like villa. 

Traditional whitewashed walls and a terracotta roof are right on par with what you might expect in the area. But as you step inside, passing interesting shrubbery and succulents outside, the vibe is altogether more modern. We love the fresh and bright living space, with a cherry-red sofa suite and an ornately carved, wooden cabinet. Oversized bamboo canes and a woven lampshade complete the look as you move to the sunroom – a striking cylindrical structure that really sets the architecture apart from rustic traditions.

From here, peer out to your secluded gardens. Lush, green, and shaded by palms, the immaculate lawn surrounds a private, heated pool. Wander around to find orange trees popping up in the grass, and terracotta tiles leading up a staircase to the roof terrace – it's much easier to survey your kingdom from up here.

This holiday villa has its own heated pool and great views of the sea from its balcony. Spread over two floors, it might not be the best choice for less mobile guests. With bikes available for free and a range of children's equipment available to rent, we think this home is great for families with young children. Within a twenty-minute walk, you'll reach the nearest beaches and central Moraira, known for its historic castle and great restaurants.

A ten-minute drive from the centre of Javea, this charming villa offers sun, relaxation and access to Spain’s beautiful Costa Blanca. Golf courses, horseriding and hiking in the hills are all on offer from your doorstep. While the furnishings aren’t the most modern – plastic chairs outside and a fairly sparse living area inside – the peaceful location is what drew us to this villa. Plus, the swimming pool is vast, there’s a charm to the living room with its traditional fireplace and the kitchen has everything you need for self-catering.  

A Twist of Time

This single-level, modern villa on the Costa Blanca has all the ingredients for a great holiday. There are a good-sized private pool, nice garden and several terraces to enjoy – one of which is covered for some alfresco dining. The living room and bedrooms all have air conditioning and there is a woodburner for those chillier days. You can go sightseeing or soak up some culture in the nearby town of Moraira. For the adventure-seekers, there are activities such as snorkelling, kayaking and wind-surfing five kilometres down the road. 

Spanish Chic

Jutting out on the coast, between Alicante and Valencia, the region of Cap Martí offers rugged coastlines, marinas, and rocky shores with panoramic views. While you might want to simply gaze out from one of the many miradors, small towns are also peppered across the area. This Adsubia home is just an eleven-minute drive from beaches like Platja del Portixol, but you don’t even need to go that far to relax in the water.

As soon as you arrive, it’s hard to ignore the huge private pool set on an elevated terrace, surrounded by an elegant balustrade. In these vast grounds, you can also wander through the lawns of your lush garden, where colourful native flowers climb stone walls and palms sway in the breeze.

If it gets too hot, sip chilled local wine under the shaded terrace. You might fancy a siesta in the bamboo dining chairs in the heat of the day, but as the evening chill sets in, the interiors are truly welcoming. This seaside haven in the heart of Javea Port is our kind of heaven. Tucked away and yet mere moments from La Grava beach, this ground floor two-bedroom home is pure boho-beach chic. Featuring a lovely, light filled open plan kitchen cum dining and living room, courtesy of floor to ceiling sliding glass doors which open out onto a cosy courtyard, this artful home boasts both style and substance. Nods to the nautical meet whitewashed walls and windows shutters while brand spanking new cabinetry meets worn wooden furniture, woven basket lights and colourful framed prints. 

Undoubtedly the star of the show, however, is the interior courtyard, with its traditional Tosca stone walls and Spanish style tiled floor – the perfect relaxing retreat come morning, noon or night. You’ll love rising early to catch the sunrise before taking your morning coffee out into the courtyard. Host cook offs and gather around the dining table for sociable meal times or head out for hours of sun-baked fun at the beach before meandering along to one of the many local seaside cafes for fresh food and uninterrupted Mediterranean views.

Both levels have their own bedrooms, kitchen, living room, dining area, and swimming pool – one on each side of the property. We think it's an excellent option for two families or a large group of friends holidaying together in Calp. The interiors are quite basic and the decor is dated – but there's plenty of room here and the home has all of the necessary amenities you need for a comfortable self-catered stay. We recommend a car for ease – some beautiful sandy beaches are just a short drive away.

We love how well-positioned this apartment is. You’re just a short walk from the sands of Platja de l'Arenal – pick up a few delicacies and enjoy a picnic on the beach or sample the local cuisine from one of the town’s authentic sea-grazing tavernas.

With a View to Dream

The sunny Costa Blanca will feel even more magical when you stay at this whitewashed villa. Nestled in the residential area of Pinosol and surrounded by palm trees, the characterful home is equipped with a large private pool, serene garden and comfortable, air-conditioned interiors. You can reach the famously beautiful coastline in a little under ten minutes. Start at Jávea's historic centre, filling up on freshly-prepared seafood, then wind your way down south to discover other-worldly beaches and hidden coves. Return at the end of each day to your tranquil home, where you can watch the sun go down as you sip sangria on the terrace.

The Great Palm

Rarely veering from a black-and-white colour scheme, the interior of this apartment is solid, if a little unremarkable, when taken on its own merits. Thankfully, there are lots of outdoor amenities that bump it up the pecking order. Not only is there a covered balcony with a view of the surrounding valley, but there's also a private rooftop terrace on which to soak up some rays. Add to that a communal swimming pool back down at ground level, plus Arenal Beach only two hundred metres from the front door, and it's never been easier to bask in the Mediterranean's glorious climate.

The Knight of the Sun

Boasting gorgeous views, a private pool, and space for alfresco dining, this villa guarantees a stylish stay. It's not suitable for young children due to the lack of fencing in the some of the outdoor areas and the pool, but there are ground-floor bedrooms and bathrooms, and a double sofa bed for some extra flexibility in the sleeping arrangements. We highly recommend having a car here, but it's not far to drive into the centre of Jávea or the nearby golf course. Further away, you'll find spectacular days out in the bustling city of Alicante and its beautiful beaches.

Casa de Tierra

Mountain views, a private pool and contemporary rooms – this home welcomes you to enjoy it all from the hills of Jávea. Set across three floors, the house offers plenty of chill-out spots along with a hot tub, exercise equipment and an office for remote workers. It’s also family-friendly with cots and high chairs available on request and a children’s zone in the swimming pool. You will need a car to get around here, but it’s just 5 kilometres to the beach and the centre of Jávea. 

Serene Escape

Just a three minute walk to the nearest sandy beach of Arenal, you'll be spoilt for choice when it comes to choosing somewhere for dinner, a morning coffee, or a glass of sangria as you watch the world go by. There is also a rocky beach just a stone's throw from the apartment, where you can enjoy excellent snorkelling, scuba diving and fishing. The pretty port and historic old town of Javea is just three kilometres away, and you'll find two prestigious golf courses within around a twenty minute radius.

Whether you've spent that day playing a few holes, soaking up the southern Spanish sunshine on your favourite local beach, or exploring the beguiling backstreets of Javea – unmistakably Spanish with their whitewashed houses adorned with bright swathes of bougainvillea – you can always return to the comfort and calm of this home away from home. Cook up something tasty in the kitchen (we especially love preparing a steam pan of Arroz a la Banda, Alicante’s take on typical paella), before heading out onto the balcony that overlooks the communal swimming pool, perhaps breaking out the board games to while away the evening as dusk turns into a star-speckled night.

Like a Desert Flower

Just 5 kilometres from the sandy Playa s'Arenal and surf school, the outdoor hangouts don't have to stop at this home. There's a sprawling garden and a private pool to enjoy in your downtime. Overlooking the countryside, the upstairs terrace is the go-to dining spot. You won't have access to the unoccupied parts of this villa. But it's best suited to families of up to six, as long as one guest doesn't mind sleeping on a pull-out bed. With an open-hearth fireplace, cosy winter getaways are on the cards, too.
