On the fifth floor with lift access, this home is a great base for exploring the promenade, beach, and cultural sights. There's always the chance of hearing some noise from neighbours, so if you're a light sleeper it may be worth packing earplugs. With a communal garden, the sea right on your doorstep and the whole of Altea to explore by car, you can't get much closer to the action.

Set on a huge plot of land, you'll have the freedom to roam around the beautifully tranquil patio and garden areas surrounding the villa. You will feel surrounded by nature here, with plenty of lush green spaces to enjoy. It won't take you long to be swimming in the Meditteranean – Guardamar del Segura beach is only 13km away. Trips into the city of Murcia are a must too. Traditional whitewashed walls and a terracotta roof are right on par with what you might expect in the area. While the decor isn’t the most exciting in our collection, the home nonetheless benefits from a communal pool area – as well as a children’s pool for little ones – and beautifully manicured gardens with sea views. You’ll also find bars and the promenade within 500 metres, Altea within 2 kilometres, not to mention plenty of outdoor activities on hand nearby, including hiking, cycling, kayaking, fishing, diving, snorkelling and waterskiing.

This no-frills apartment is just 150 metres from the sandy shores of Benidorm's Playa de Levante. The location in the old town is fantastic – restaurants, shops, and bars are all steps away – though that does mean it can get a little noisy at night. Back home, there isn't any outdoor space, but the floor-to-ceiling windows act as an internal balcony, making it an excellent spot to savour a glass of wine and watch the world pass by. One guest will sleep on a sofa bed, and only the living area has air conditioning (the bedrooms have fans). That said, it does the trick for a central pad a short stroll from the beach.

The swimming pools are all lush for cooling off from the hot Spanish sunshine, while the hot tubs and sauna are great places to relax and de-stress. There’s a tennis court for when you fancy a few games, as well as ping pong tables for more casual fun. There’s also an on-site shared gym so you can keep up with your fitness routine. 

The complex is based right next to Poniente beach, so you’re just a stone’s throw away from beautiful white sands, palm trees and blue seas. There are plenty of lovely restaurants along the beachfront serving up authentic Spanish cuisine, plus welcoming bars where you can enjoy a glass of Sangria in the sunshine.

This modern villa is the perfect retreat for those looking for a restful break. You’re a little further removed from the touristy areas here, which means you can really unwind. We recommend hiring a car or two to make the most of your time here – there are golf courses and beaches to discover. There’s plenty of room for you to spend time together at the villa, though two guests will be sleeping on a sofa bed in the living room – it’s still a comfy spot. We love the terrace for alfresco dining, and the private pool is sure to please.

This seafront apartment boasts direct access to Levante Beach and a communal swimming pool. The views are lovely, and the sand is steps away, though the location does mean you can expect some outside noise. That said, parties and loud groups aren't allowed, so we think couples, friends, and families will settle right in. Your host can provide a cot and high chair for little ones, while the kitchen is more than equipped for whipping up large family meals. On-site parking is also available, but public transport is easily accessible for exploring all Benidorm has to offer.

Seaside Escape

With amazing panoramic views of the sea and Benidorm – this apartment is the ideal beach getaway. Open the sliding doors and let the sun and the sea air in while you eat in the airy dining area. This home can sleep six, but two people would be on a sofa bed in the living room so if you want ample living space, we’d say this home is better suited to four guests. The absolute highlight for us, though, is that it’s just 50 metres from the golden sands of Playa de Levante.

Carved out of local stone and supported by solid wood, the ceiling beams converge from smooth, curved walls and over the galley kitchen. Mismatched furniture adds a cosy, old-timey ambience – we’re particularly fond of the antique chandeliers. Outside, a staircase spirals down to the pool terrace with sun-soaked loungers and stunning views across Calp. When you aren’t swimming laps in the private pool, find a quiet spot on the lesser-known Playa de Port Blanc – there’s a fantastic restaurant nearby for when you get peckish. In the evening, retreat back home to your balcony to watch the sunset behind the mighty Peñón de Ifach – perfectly framed by stone arches, it’s a snapshot you’ll never forget.

Location-wise, you'll be 22 kilometres from the beach in Guardamar del Segura. Also within driving distance is Alicante if you want to explore further afield.

This grand villa sits in an incredible position, just outside the shambling hilltop village of Finestrat. Dramatic views of forest-clad mountains run down to the ocean (it’s a 15-minute drive down to the sandy beach at Cala Finestrat). Surrounded by rambling gardens and grounds, this place is a secluded sanctuary. Two huge sun terraces and a huge, Roman-style swimming pool bask in the plentiful Costa Blanca sunshine. Balustraded terraces, arched porches, and stone-columned pergolas give a real sense of gravitas to the grounds. Inside, you’ll find plenty of space for your whole group to stretch out and enjoy your time together, with three different seating areas in front of TVs and fireplaces. Opulently furnished with a palette of deep reds and yellows, it feels welcoming and bright from the get-go. The living spaces are dressed head to toe in finery, with bold artworks dramatically lit and chandeliers. As evening falls the calm and quiet of the location really comes into its own. Infinite Sunset

This coastal pet-friendly apartment has a balcony overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, with one of Guardamar's golden sandy beaches right on your doorstep. The furnishings are a little dated, and we think the place could do with an update, but being on the fifth floor ensures you'll have lovely views. We recommend having a car here for day trips up to the cities of Alicante or Elche, but Centre Beach, as well as Guardamar's local shops, cafes and restaurants, are all within walking distance.
