Located in the heart of Sitges, stroll two minutes to reach the lounger-lined sand of Sitges Beach, and spend evenings exploring the tapas joints, seafood restaurants and cosy little wine bars of the old town. A seven-minute stroll will take you to Sitges train station.

A tall and slender townhouse, the designers of this townhouse have created a homely spot, packed with curios and object d’art. The ground floor is dedicated to the open kitchen, dining and living room. Double doors lead from the kitchen to a quiet little courtyard with a bistro set. Going up a level, there’s an office area on the landing furnished with books and a desk made from reclaimed window shutters. The first, smaller terrace is up here too, with comfy chairs for evening drinks. 

On the second floor, you’ve got a second seating area for a quiet moment with a good book and up one more level, on the top floor, a sofa bed provides the sleeping space for a fifth and sixth guest. This is where you’ll find the crowning glory of this home – the rooftop terrace. Such is the proximity to the beach, you can almost smell the crisp, sea air and hear the soothing sounds of the waves from the master bedroom. It's the perfect alarm clock to wake up to each morning. 

When you're bathing on the golden sands, you don't have to worry about forgetting your towel or refreshments – you can nip home and back in less than five minutes. On your way back to the apartment, check out the top-rate seafood restaurants and trendy clothes stores dotted around the town.

Alternatively, you can pop into one of the inviting shops to pick up some goodies to enjoy back at the apartment. Rustle up some paella in the kitchen or share small tapas dishes on the cute dining table. For beach lovers, this apartment is perfect. It's just a minute's walk from Sitges Beach, while other attractions nearby include the famous Iglesia de San Bartolomé y Santa Tecla, a six-minute stroll away. There are fashionable bars and restaurants literally on your doorstep, too (this may not be the place for you if you crave peace and quiet). When it's time for dinner, you can see if the restaurant opposite is filling up from the balcony here – okay, so it's not the biggest of outdoor spaces, but check out those sea glimpses. Inside, it's modern and fresh but not particularly homely.

The view here is particularly breathtaking at sunset. Inside, the ancient stone walls are adorned with unique pieces by local artists and shelves show off trinkets from around the globe. The kitchen retains its old farmhouse charm, but shining chrome appliances give away the 21st-century make-over. A collection of outbuildings are now home to covered outdoor dining with the rustic simplicity of a monk’s refectory, and an old storeroom has been converted into a plush home cinema with velvet seats and perfect acoustics. Bedrooms feel hotel-grade luxurious, but what we really love are the retained old flourishes of the former farmhouse – stone tables for grinding corn, stone barrel rooms now holding bedrooms and a master bedroom in the old kitchen, still with its striking ancient hearth. Breakfast is also included every day.
