This farmhouse has been renovated in such a way that it has retained its unique rural character while still getting to call itself a holiday home fit for the twenty-first century. Mallorquin both within and without, it’s built in the classic blonde stone of the area and filled with traditional dark wood furnishings, wrought iron beds and classic Mediterranean tiled floors. Perched on a cliff just outside of Port Adriano, this impressive home has to be seen to be believed. Boasting an infinity pool, floor-to-ceiling windows, and every amenity you could ask for, this home makes holidays to Mallorca extra special. 

The double bedrooms look out to sea, so you can wake up to the soothing sight of bobbing waves and yachts passing by. This home has been designed to make the most of the superlative views afforded by the cliff-top setting, so you can expect lots of glass – the turquoise of the sea becomes part of the colour palette. 

The villa is just a five-minute drive from Port Adriano, where you’ll find shops and restaurants, and the port, of course. From here you can set sail on a boat tour of the coast or, if you prefer to keep your feet on dry land, simply sip coffee as you watch the boats pull in. A day trip to Palma might also be on the cards – it’s thirty-five minutes away. There you can stroll the historic streets, dine in top-notch restaurants and explore galleries and museums – it’s well worth the journey. 

After a day spent seeing the sights, head back to the villa to swim in the infinity pool or lounge in a day bed. The small indoor pool proves tempting in the evening when you can see the stars through sliding glass doors. There’s also a telescope set up in the living room for keen stargazers.

From the moment we pulled up outside and saw the setting, we were in love with this gorgeous stone-built home with its mesmerising views over the Mediterranean. Relax on the comfy L-shaped sofa in the stylish living room and drink them in or head to the mezzanine sitting room. Our favourite spot is the Eames-style rocking chair in the bedroom with its lovely beams. 

Outdoors is beautiful, too, and wonderfully private and secluded, thanks to its warm stone walls. Cook up a Mallorcan feast in the outdoor kitchen and enjoy it on the shaded terrace surrounded by cacti and potted palms. Then laze on the sunbeds in the Balearic sun – that's our kind of holiday. This place is absolutely perfect for families.

The location is great too – the charming town of Port de Pollença, with its restaurants and shops, as well as the fine sandy beach, is just three minutes by car, while Can Cullerassa Beach, used mainly by locals, is under 50 metres away.

This sun-soaked home has everything you want from a Mallorcan getaway – endless sea views, a private balcony, unfussy interiors and a five-minute walk from the beach. The architects of this apartment had indoor-outdoor living at the forefront when designing this space. A wall of glass gives way to the outside space where a bistro set up calls for slap-up suppers that last well into the evening. 

Inside, white-washed walls and natural textures combine to create a relaxing environment that’s a pleasure to relax in. We particularly loved the pink striped couch, adding a touch of whimsy to the place. When you’re not penning smug postcards at the dining table, you’ll be strolling along the soft sands of S'illot Beach or taking day trips to the charming towns of Portocolom on the east coast, reached in thirty minutes by car, and Alcúdia in the north, less than an hour’s drive away.

Bright and stylish, this villa makes for an excellent base in Mallorca. It’s just outside of Puerto de Andratx, so the shops, cafes and restaurants of the town are a short drive away, but it feels like a real escape. The villa sits on the coast with stunning views of the sea – it’s a holiday haven. 

We love the stylish decor here. Each room is chic and attractive, with windows that flood the space with sunshine. The prominence of windows also means that the glorious coastal views become part of the decor – from waking up to drifting off to sleep, you can look forward to wonderful sea views and clear skies. 

Of course, with such beautiful vistas outside, you’ll probably want to spend as much time as possible in the fresh air. Soak up the sun on a lounger, and slip into the private swimming pool to cool off when the sun is at its most sizzling. Doze in the shade on the terrace, read books, or simply drink in the views while feeling the warmth of the sun on your skin. 

In the evening, try your hand at whipping up fresh paella with local seafood. Sit around the table on the terrace and dine beneath the stars, revelling in the tranquillity of this stunning home-from-home. A few days here is good for the soul – you’ll leave feeling oh-so-refreshed.

It's got rustic character and charm in spades, from the beamed ceilings to the stone walls. Outside, the terrace is bathed in sunlight and offers the perfect spot to laze the day away – take your pick between the shady canopy or poolside daybeds. Best of all, it's all framed by views of the mountains and countryside. If that's not relaxing, we don't know what is.

In a sun-soaked setting, just a five-minute drive from the white sands of Talamanca Beach, this villa inspires peace with its shimmering pool, magenta blooms of bougainvillaea and bright, breezy rooms. 

Inside, the place is stylish and contemporary – expect high-quality materials, an open-plan living space that’s perfect for entertaining and bedrooms that guarantee a blissful night’s sleep. Accessed via a private country lane, this villa offers peace and quiet, as well as verdant wooded vistas from the terrace and the swimming pool. The home is surrounded by more than 3000 square metres of private land, so you’ll be able to listen to the birds singing in the trees. Due to its secluded location, we’d recommend having a car as the nearest supermarket and restaurant is 2 kilometres away in Artá. Other attractions include Beach Canyamel 9 kilometres away, while there’s a golf course 4 kilometres from this home.

Buzzing Palma is about a twenty-five-minute drive away, or if you're keen on the sea, Port d'Alcúdia and the island's northern beaches are about half an hour by car.

This restored farmhouse is located up in the peaceful Tramuntana mountains and is best suited to groups who want to be away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Spread across two floors, guests can enjoy a fully-equipped kitchen, a spacious living area complete with a fireplace for cooler seasons, and en-suite bedrooms. We love the large outdoor patio and kitchen area – the perfect spot for some alfresco dining. Due to the remote location of this home, we recommend hiring a car for your stay – the center of Valldemossa is less than a ten-minute drive away.

The Glow of the Sun

While sunbathing, hiking, and sailing are most certainly on the cards on this sun-soaked island, some of us are simply looking for a rural, isolated escape. That’s where this home comes in. Although just a ten-minute drive from the nearest town of Felanitx, this inland oasis feels a world away from everyone.

As you approach the home, it gives off a rustic, farmhouse vibe with a traditional look. Honey-coloured stone, wooden shutters, and a terracotta roof are everything you might expect, but the reality is closer to modern luxury. We love this vast, maze-like space, where you can chase the sun to keep finding secret spots and hidden corners to sip Mallorcan wine. 

As the sun goes down, you might head inside to get cosy beneath traditional wooden beams, or beside the wood-burning stove. With vintage trinkets and an eclectic mix of art in gilded frames, this home feels more like a quirky museum – a wonderfully unique stay on a wonderfully unique island.

Later you can burn the calories with a game of tennis or basketball, followed by a cooling dip in the pool. In part of the gardens you'll be greeted by the resident flock of sheep – feed them a few stalks of grass and they’ll love you to bits. 

If you manage to tear yourself away from this designer retreat, the village of Alaró has grocery stores, restaurants, and a trendy little gallery hosting exhibitions by local artists. The interiors of this home feel bright, airy, and inviting, exuding an easy and quintessentially Spanish charm with a thoroughly modern twist. We especially love the impressive lounge area – which, with its double-height ceilings and a carefully curated selection of elegant furnishings, rightfully forms the heart of this wonderful villa. 

Enjoy cooking on the barbecue and dining alfresco in the covered outdoor dining area complete with atmospheric evening lighting, or simply gazing up at the stars from the serene tranquility of those extensive gardens or the elevated vantage point offered by the roof terrace. We can't think of many better ways to pass an evening than grabbing a glass of our favourite after-dinner tipple and heading for one of the carefully thought-out seating areas to savour it in the sweet Spanish night air.

During your stay here, you'll find yourself well placed to explore the local area, including the historic old town of Pollensa and the popular beach resort of Puerto Pollensa – both of which are within easy reach. Treat yourself to a spot of retail therapy in town, stopping in at the boutique stores that line the narrow laneways, before refreshing with a coffee and fresh local pastry in one of the numerous bustling cafes. Down at the beach, you'll find a range of watersports on offer – or you could just sit back, relax, and soak up that sunshine. Ah, decisions, decisions...

Perfect Pollensa

This fabulous period townhouse is a real find. Authentic, beautifully styled and packed with character, it's a homage to the city and its history. Set over five floors, including the stunning roof terrace, its green shuttered windows and balconies are in keeping with the area's traditional feel, and the interior, while stylish and comfortable, reminds us of a museum. Whites and terracotta tones make for a timeless feel, while architectural features like the marble staircase and beamed ceilings provide a backdrop to a collection of antiques, vintage artworks and local artefacts – some even displayed in cabinets. 

The living space is exquisite, with windows to three sides, a comfy sofa and an open plan kitchen and dining space, and although the kitchen isn't huge, the host has managed to pack in everything you could need. But we think you're likely to be eating on the roof terrace most evenings. With its own small preparation kitchen to save you lugging dishes up the stairs, this space is simply beautiful. Eat together at the little table, read on the sun loungers or just take in the views across the rooftops. Given some privacy by a series of screening curtains, it's a superb place to watch the sun go down with a good bottle of wine.
