As the sun goes down, you can enjoy breathtaking views over the island of Formentera and the golf course from one of multiple terraces – or simply lounge by the pool and top up your tan. In the evening, pull up an Eames-style chair in the kitchen while the chef of the group prepares an Ibizan feast. In the heart of the Ibizan countryside (rather than California) you’ll be looking at olive groves and lemon trees – idyllic views to die for. We can picture ourselves luxuriating in the sophisticated living room, with its clean, contemporary lines and five-star ambiance, or reclined on one of the sun loungers by the sparkling pool. With a huge private garden to roam and en suites to all the bedrooms, it’s an ideal space to holiday with your tribe. While away the hours with a book by the pool, taking breaks from the sun in the outdoor lounge area with its typically Iberian rock walls and slatted roof. We noticed the architecture first, with native Sabina wood ceilings and arched white walls sheltering eclectic pieces like a cowhide chair and Native American headdresses. For the performers in your group, there's a grand piano in the living area – or plug a phone into the sound system to play more professional beats. Bedrooms each deliver a sense of serenity, courtesy of pastel colour schemes and reclaimed wooden furniture.  But you won't want to hang out alone for too long – the infinity pool is surrounded by daybeds, while the built-in stone barbecue has carved-stone seats for everyone to keep an eye on the action. To amp up the energy, there are pétanque courts, table tennis and foosball tables and a basketball hoop. Glimpses of the sea are visible from the roof terrace, or you can jump on one of the home's bikes for a trip to the shore before heading back for sundowners on the wraparound terrace.

Parts of this historic property date back 600 years, making it a truly unique place to base yourself during your island holidays. Situated in the heart of Ibiza, you’ll need a car to reach the beaches, with the nearest one approximately fifteen minutes away. What you’ll get in exchange is peace and tranquillity, as well as proximity to the picturesque town of Santa Gertrudis. The home is set amidst a huge private garden, and you’ll also enjoy an outdoor swimming pool and plenty of spaces for sunbathing and alfresco dining. There are two kitchens here, including one situated semi-outdoors, perfect for family barbecues. We do love this villa’s rustic and vintage feel, but if you’re looking for a sleek, modern design, this may not be the right choice for you. 

The Palm Tree Breeze

There's no denying that The White Isle is a gorgeous destination, and this villa is pretty easy on the eyes. Built with the traditional Ibiza style in mind, the exterior is white as sugar against the rich green of the surrounding countryside and panoramic vistas of the Morna Valley. Indoors is all about living in luxury, with plush king-size beds and glossy en-suites in each bedroom as well as an open-plan living space that honours the breezy style fincas are known for. 

That said, you'll likely spend most of your time in the garden, basking in the endless sunshine. There's a glittering pool where you can enjoy afternoon swims and midnight dips under the stars and so many sun-kissed lounging areas it's hard to know where to start. We can easily picture ourselves lounging on the daybed with a good book, sipping sangria before dinner in the covered dining area and whipping up tapas in the summer kitchen to enjoy as the sun goes down – sounds pretty dreamy, if we do say so ourselves.

While this is a quiet rural location, you're just a ten-minute drive from Santa Eulalia and twenty minutes from Ibiza Town. Explore the island's beaches and secret coves by day – our favourites are Aigües Blanques and Cala de Sant Vicent, both twenty minutes by car – and enjoy the lively atmosphere by night. We think this is White Isle living at its finest.
