This rustic and cosy Spanish apartment, within walking distance of the stretching sands of Barceloneta Beach, is a sun lover's dream. The drop-your-bags-and-go coastal location is the main draw here, but we also love the suntrap rooftop terrace, where alfresco meals and sunset drinks will go down a treat. A laptop-friendly desk is a plus for anyone needing to jump on the occasional Zoom call, and though none of the rooms are overly large, everything is spacious enough and comfortable for four. Besides, surrounded by cafes, museums and landmarks, you probably won't be spending much time inside anyway.

With a fantastic position in the middle of Eixample, this apartment puts you close to many of Barcelona's most famous sights. Even if you plan to spend most of your time exploring the city's streets, you'll be happy to return to this stylish home at the end of the day.

High ceilings and tall windows mean that the interior feels bright and airy, but there's also a Juliet balcony if you want to feel the breeze on your face at any point. There's a lot to like about the design too, with wooden furnishings and surfaces going nicely with the cool grey tiles and eclectic selection of objets d'art. We're fans of the exposed brickwork in the master bedroom, which adds a loft feel to the space, as well as the pristine subway tiling in the bathrooms.

When it comes to sightseeing, the place to start has to be Casa Milà, which lies five minutes' walk from the home. One of Gaudí's other famous creations, La Sagrada Familia, can be reached in twenty-five minutes on foot, too. The Gothic Quarter takes a similar amount of time in another direction.

Adorned with Modernist masterpieces, this part of Barcelona boasts great architecture on every corner and even the insides of an unassuming building like this one show some masterful craft. True, the street you'll be staying on is a little bit noisy, but we think that easy access to the cultural heart of town more than makes up for it.

If you’re looking for an unforgettable stay in the heart of Barcelona, this dreamy penthouse apartment is just the ticket. Located a two-minute walk from Plaça Catalunya and boasting wide-sweeping views of it from its huge private terrace, this home is the very definition of the high life. Laid out over two floors (with one bedroom on the lower floor) you’ll enjoy plenty of privacy here when needed, as well as ample space for socialising. Of course, the terrace is the main place to be for gatherings over alfresco breakfasts and sunset drinks paired with homemade tapas. But the living room – with its large glass doors and sunny dining spot – is just as enviable when it comes to lounging and spending time together. While it’s hard to resist this home’s views, we guarantee that exploring your Eixample neighbourhood is just as fun as watching the hustle and bustle of Plaça Catalunya from above. Shop along Passeig de Gràcia (a one-minute walk), admire Gaudí’s Casa Batlló (an eight-minute walk) and take an afternoon stroll through Ciutadella Park (fifteen minutes away on foot). Its terrace looks out at a 19th-century water tower, which might not be one of the city’s most iconic landmarks but serves as a nice backdrop to a cosy cocktail evening. If you fancy a change of scenery, though, you’re within easy reach of Gaudí’s Casa Batlló, as well as Plaça de Catalunya where you’ll find plenty of shops and cafés to while away the day. And while the kitchen’s slightly limited, this home is surrounded by tonnes of bustling bars and restaurants, so you won’t have to venture far for a bite of something delicious to eat.

Take a short stroll from this home and you’ll find yourself in Plaza Cataluña or wandering the streets of the Gothic Quarter. Wherever you find yourself in this central spot, there’s something impressive to admire. And when you’re looking for a simple place to pause and soak it all in, this apartment makes a great option. Designed with comfort in mind, the rooms are perfectly sized for a small group to stretch out and unwind. There’s also a sofa bed – ideal for two extra guests. 

The Brighter Place

This apartment is on one of Barcelona's most fashionable boulevards, close to Las Ramblas and the late-night tapas bars of the Gothic Quarter. Passeig de Gràcia with its shops, restaurants and bars, is just a five-minute walk away. There’s a sense of old-world grandeur inside thanks to chandeliers and corniced ceilings, in keeping with the historic building. The apartment is family-sized, but might feel cramped at capacity with three in one bedroom and two on the sofa bed in the living room. Balconies off the living room and one of the bedrooms face Rambla Catalunya – perfect for people-watching.

This apartment has a modern style and is located in the heart of Barcelona's bustling city centre, next to Plaça de Catalunya and Passeig de Gràcia. Just a five-minute stroll from the Barri Gòtic and El Born, as well as being surrounded by plenty of bars and restaurants, you really couldn't be asked to be better placed. The home also benefits from a Juliet balcony and a stylish living area with a sociable breakfast bar – ideal for morning coffees before setting off for a day of sightseeing. You're also a three-minute walk from the FGC train station and the Plaça Catalunya metro station, both connecting you to the entire city with ease.

It's right on the iconic Las Ramblas with its street performers, cafes, restaurants, markets and shops, and it's close to some more of Barcelona's most famous streets. Pedestrianised Calle Ferrán, which leads to the Barcelona City Hall and Plaça Reial, one of the city's most beautiful squares, are both nearby.

Back at this recently renovated apartment, we loved the characterful living space with its exposed brick walls, which are more than 200 years old and its high ceilings with wooden beams. The cute balcony is perfect for enjoying a glass of Cava while watching the comings and goings on Las Ramblas. This place is ideal for atwo couples or business professionals.


Take a Rambla Downtown	

If you’re staying in El Born, one of Barcelona’s trendiest neighbourhoods, then you need an apartment to match – fortunately, this beachy boho abode is just the ticket. We loved how finca-style ceilings juxtapose the modern, sleek black accents and plaster-effect walls. Straw hanging lamps and an abundance of woven textures add a sense of grounding that encourages you to slow down and switch off. And where better to put your feet up than the covered terrace. Spend unhurried mornings sipping milky coffees in the hanging chair before setting the table ready for a breakfast of local produce. 

Afternoons are to be spent sunning yourself on Barceloneta Beach, just a fifteen-minute mosey from your doorstep. Enjoy picnics in the glorious Ciutadella Park, five minutes away, and gentle strolls through the medieval streets that surround your building. At the end of the day, head into the Gothic Quarter for glasses of sangria in old-world tapas bars.

Outside of your home, you’re just a five-minute walk from the Arc de Triomf, a nine-minute stroll from both Plaça de Catalunya and Ciutadella Park, while La Sagrada Familia is twenty-four minutes away on foot.

This stylish apartment, housed in a grand period building, has a fantastic address. Gaudí's masterpiece Casa Batlló is a three-minute saunter, while it's a six-minute stroll to Paseo De Gracia with its museums and designer boutiques galore (Gucci, Chanel and Versace, amongst many others). Plaza Catalunya and Las Ramblas, on the other hand, are a ten-minute walk away or visit one of Barcelona's most iconic attractions, the Sagrada Familia, just over twenty minutes on foot.

Back at this home, open the French doors to the balcony and have a seat on the comfy sofa after all that sightseeing. We love the high ceilings here and traditional wall mouldings. There's a gorgeous, modern four-poster bed as well – this place is perfect for a couple or friends looking for a bolt hole in Barcelona.

This grand apartment is a rare city find, with its ornate interiors, picturesque terrace and central location. It’s an ideal spot if you’re visiting as a large group, with sharing-style bedrooms and a large living room for enjoying post-sightseeing drinks. That said, the apartment is a little compact in areas, with the kitchen being better suited for light bites and the dining room only seating six or eight at most. Location-wise, Plaça Catalunya, Passeig de Gràcia, and La Rambla are just a short walk away.

There are homes that impress us with minimalist design – and then there's the Feather Chandelier. Created by one of our favourite hosts and interior designer in Barcelona, this home goes beyond the ordinary to make a statement in each and every room. The loud and proud baroque style might not be for everyone, but we thought the silver wallpaper in the master bathroom and faux Roman sculptures were an absolute delight.

Located in the trendy Eixample neighbourhood, on the arterial Passeig de Gràcia, this apartment has Barcelona’s best bits within easy reach. Gaudi's La Sagrada Família is no more than a twenty-minute walk away and you’re practically neighbours with Casa Milà and Casa Batlló. Saunter into the Gothic Quarter for charming medieval streets and authentic tapas bars or jump on the bus and make haste to the coast – Barceloneta Beach is only twenty minutes away. 

Inside the home, it’s modern and functional with everything you need to settle into city living. Put together quick meals in the kitchenette and dine in front of the large Juliette balcony doors. If a siesta is on the cards, quiet bedrooms guarantee a peaceful snooze. After busy afternoons spent exploring, curl up on the sofa with a glass of Rioja and reflect on the day’s events.

We love this home in Barcelona – it boasts some of the best views over Gaudi's iconic Casa Milà and L'Eixample. Housed in a 120-year-old renovated building, floor-to-ceiling windows let the daylight in, while traditional tile details and a mixture of old and new furniture give this place soul. Prepare some tapas in the sleek, grey kitchen and enjoy at the dining table or head to L'Eixample’s celebrated dining scene, just over a five-minute walk away. If the vistas from your apartment of Casa Milà have whetted your appetite to see some more, then it's a mere three-minute stroll. Or, browse the high-end boutiques in the area, then head to La Rambla de Sant Jose (also known as La Rambla de les Flors) and pick up some flowers. You'll undoubtedly be glad you picked this apartment.

The Ebony Azulejo

With a direct view of Gaudí's masterpiece Casa Batlló, this luxury home's location is an indisputable superpower. So, take a seat on the balcony with the complimentary bottle of cava and admire the vista here or from one of the beds. But that's not all it has to offer – the lovely hosts have made it their mission to compete with the architectural masterpieces in Eixample. A love for peacocks and flamingos is reflected in the many paintings and statues around this home, while the contrast between turquoise and pink is a dominant theme. Many of the design choices pay homage to traditional Catalan architecture and design, making this home more than just a comfortable place to stay. This residence is spread out over two wings, so it's ideal for a group of friends or extended family looking for some privacy. If you’re not satisfied with just seeing Casa Batlló from your window –  it’s just a two-minute saunter away. This apartment is right on Paseo De Gracia with its museums and designer boutiques galore, while lively Plaça Catalunya is under a ten-minute stroll. Or, visit one of Barcelona's most iconic attractions, the Sagrada Familia, just over a twenty-minute walk away.

Gaudi's Telescope

An outdoor terrace is always a nice addition to a home regardless of the location, but in a sunny city like Barcelona, it's even more welcome. This apartment's large alfresco space complete with a shady pergola and a couple of loungers is sure to be appreciated during the height of summer.

We're happy to report that this address is far from a one-trick pony, however. There's a wealth of space inside and bountiful amounts of natural light from the large windows, which is allowed to flow through the interior thanks to the clever use of internal glass panels. Although the design is largely pared-back, there are a few characterful touches that caught our eye, including the patterned tiled flooring in the kitchen and the hanging egg chair in one of the bedrooms.

What's perhaps most impressive is that this large home isn't on the outskirts of the city, but a mere three minutes' walk from Plaça de Catalunya and the start of La Rambla. With Eixample just to the north here as well, you're never going to be short of galleries, restaurants or historic attractions within strolling distance of the front door.

The sun loungers are perfect for a little relaxing me-time before heading out to the city. Located in the fashionable Eixample, you're not far from the action. All of Barcelona's hotspots are within walking distance, or you can hop on the metro. The stop's just a five-minute walk. Passeig de Gràcia, Plaça de Catalunya, La Rambla, Gran Vía are all within a twenty-minute walk and provide all of the architectural beauty, tapas bars, and sangria spots that your heart desires.

When your feet are starting to hurt and the sun's pounding down, getting back to the air-conditioned apartment for a quick breather will feel bliss. Head to the shared terrace to relax in the bubbling pool. No, it isn't a mirage. A swimming pool in one of the busiest neighbourhoods in Barcelona is a rare sight, but you deserve only the best.

After you've got ready for the night, head to Barceloneta beach. It's a fourty-seven-minute walk away, but the easiest way to get there is the metro, which takes just twenty-five minutes door-to-door. It's a great place to sunbathe by day, but even better to watch the sunset by dusk. The beach is lined with plenty of restaurants, bars, and clubs to whittle the night away.

You’ll struggle to find an apartment more central than this, sitting just off the Plaça Catalunya and a three-minute mosey to the leafy Las Ramblas. Its homespun living area and inviting bedrooms make for relaxing spaces away from the hubbub. Open up the French doors to be enveloped by a warm Spanish breeze as you tuck into a tasty breakfast. Throw something together in the kitchen or pick up a bite to eat from the café around the corner. Put on your sandals, slap on your sun cream and take to Barcelona’s historic streets. You’re minutes from the modernist sights of Eixample and just under twenty from the Picasso Museum. We're big fans of the hanging chair in the main bedroom's sunny nook – the perfect spot to unwind with a glass of Rioja – while the dedicated workspace is ideal for business travellers. The second bedroom is on the cosier side, so it's a better fit for children.

You'll find it nestled in a contemporary building on the top floor, providing a tranquil base amidst the hustle and bustle of the city. Here, you're surrounded by metro links and a short walk from the famous Plaza Catalunya and Las Ramblas. The Passeig de Gràcia, with its delightful cluster of upmarket boutiques and Gaudi masterpieces, is also just a four-minute stroll from your doorstep.
