Tucked away in the charming streets of Poblenou, this apartment makes a great base for an inspiring city stay. Designed with relaxation in mind, you’ll find calm tones, stylish rooms and a private terrace – perfect for sunset drinks. There is also a home office for remote workers and the Bluetooth speakers mean you can switch off while listening to the sound of your favourite playlist. It’s worth noting there is no private parking here, but there are great public transport links and you’ll find it’s just a short walk to the beach. 


The Beauty Within 

Having recently undergone a renovation, this Gràcia apartment is awash with earthy colours, natural materials and leafy houseplants. It could be said that the design isn't so much led by Catalan influences as by North African style – whatever the inspiration, it's undeniably easy on the eye.

Not only that, but it's somewhere in which you'll quickly feel at home. The sleek white kitchen is plenty big enough for whipping up family-sized feasts, while there are a couple of spots in which to do nothing more strenuous than relax and take it easy – the hammock chair is sure to be a firm favourite among some guests, while the balcony allows you to get a burst of fresh air during warm afternoons.

That's not if you're already out and about exploring the cultural riches of Barcelona. One of the city's must-see sights – La Sagrada Familia – is less than a quarter of an hour's walk away, while you can also get to Barceloneta Beach in around half an hour on public transport.

An Eye for Fashion

With its trendy colour palette and sleek modern design, this Eixample apartment offers first-class urban living. The marine blue accent wall makes the open-plan living space feel connected and cosy, while boiserie and marble-effect details add a touch of elegance. You’ll begin your mornings at the dining table with a traditional Catalan breakfast before nipping onto the balcony to bask in the glorious sunshine. 

Spend afternoons ticking off Barcelona’s cultural hot spots – Gaudí’s Casa Batlló is a mere 160 metres from your building and La Sagrada Família is a leisurely twenty-five-minute walk away. Weave through the Gothic Quarter’s charming streets – stop for a coffee on La Rambla and pore over the masterpieces in the Picasso Museum. And when the day draws to a close, take the twenty-four-minute bus trip to Barceloneta Beach to watch the sun set over the glittering Mediterranean. 

La Modernista

Staying in Mar Diagonal is not the obvious choice for everyone, but if you want a more relaxed, beachy atmosphere, it’s hard to beat this apartment. The building is impressive enough in itself, and the fact that every room has a sea view is not to be sniffed at. While the design of the place is simple, even bordering on sparse, the way that the windows frame that view mitigates what could otherwise be seen as a slight lack of inspiration. Getting into the city is easy enough on the metro, but it’s about an hour on foot to Plaça de Catalunya.


Mar Terra

This apartment offers a central location in Barcelona's Gothic Quarter and a practical pad to call your own. Just a short stroll from Barcelona Cathedral, Plaza Catalunya and the various shops, restaurants and bars, you really couldn't be better placed for exploring the city. The home's bedrooms vary in size, with limited space so you'll want to pack light. That said, we think the modern design, which benefits from traditional Catalan touches, makes for a lovely home to come back to after a busy day of sightseeing. 

The Making of a City

Neat and practical, this nifty studio is situated in the heart of Eixample. Its terrace looks out at a 19th-century water tower, which might not be one of the city’s most iconic landmarks but serves as a nice backdrop to a cosy cocktail evening. If you fancy a change of scenery, though, you’re within easy reach of Gaudí’s Casa Batlló, as well as Plaça de Catalunya where you’ll find plenty of shops and cafés to while away the day. And while the kitchen’s slightly limited, this home is surrounded by tonnes of bustling bars and restaurants, so you won’t have to venture far for a bite of something delicious to eat.

The City Flower

Located in the heart of El Born — Barcelona's epicentre of cool — this apartment is surrounded by exclusive boutiques, hip bars open late into the night and the Picasso Museum, which is only four minutes' walk away. Inside the home, we admired the rustic touches left in after a recent renovation, particularly the exposed brickwork and wooden beams. You can instantly tell it will be a lovely place to escape the midday sun, with the delicate curtains on either side of the French doors fluttering about in the breeze and the parquet floor running throughout feeling cool to the touch on bare feet. When you fancy soaking up some rays, however, the building has a communal roof terrace complete with seats, a dining table and a charming view over the city's rooftops.

Tawny Cinder

This modern, crowd-pleasing home is a picture of industrial chic nestled in-between the beach and Barcelona's historic Old Town. Stepping in to look around at the decor, you'll notice low-hanging lampshades, vibrant chairs and a quirky pallet coffee table that we really loved. Natural light pours into the apartment through crittall windows, while super high beamed ceilings and a clever layout make for a light and airy spot to unwind with friends or family after an afternoon spent sightseeing. Rustle up a plate of paella in the sleek metro-tiled kitchen – complete with a sociable breakfast bar to come together for a glass of Barolo. Better still, enjoy alfresco dining out on your private terrace with painted brick walls and garden furniture.  As for El Poblenou, it's a residential, quiet neighbourhood without the city noise – and yet under a twenty-minute wander from the iconic La Sagrada Familia. 

The Third Star

This apartment has a modern style and is located in the heart of Barcelona's bustling city centre, next to Plaça de Catalunya and Passeig de Gràcia. Just a five-minute stroll from the Barri Gòtic and El Born, as well as being surrounded by plenty of bars and restaurants, you really couldn't be asked to be better placed. The home also benefits from a Juliet balcony and a stylish living area with a sociable breakfast bar – ideal for morning coffees before setting off for a day of sightseeing. You're also a three-minute walk from the FGC train station and the Plaça Catalunya metro station, both connecting you to the entire city with ease. 

Franciscan Flavour

Staying at Diagonal Mar is a bit different from the typical Barcelona experience of Gaudí buildings and getting lost in the cobbled passages of the Gothic Quarter. While famed architectural marvels like the Sagrada Família are a twenty-minute drive away, this apartment is a dream for lovers of golden shores and turquoise waters – the beachfront is right opposite. You can walk to Platja de la Nova Mar Bella in just eight minutes, and admire views of its glistening waters from this glass-clad abode. With palm trees lining the road as you arrive at this modern building, there’s a beach-resort vibe that feels a world away from the hectic city centre. Inside, you’ll be wowed by the fresh, clean, and sleek interiors of the enormous open-plan living space. White is the dominant colour, illuminated further by floor-to-ceiling glass windows and sliding doors to private terraces and balconies. It’s a home that makes you feel like a VIP, especially with the services your host offers. Enjoy airport pickup, followed by a welcome hamper, attraction tickets, restaurant reservations, and of course a private chef for when you’d rather sip chilled wine than make your own tapas.

Playa Sul

With direct sea views, garden, pool and kids' play area/pool, as well as easy access to transportation to the rest of this beautiful city, this home really has everything to offer for a relaxed and fun-filled city break. All guests need to do is kick off their shoes and listen to the gentle and melodic crash of waves in the background as they enjoy their morning coffee out on the balcony, watching as seagulls fly overhead. Children will have the time of their lives playing in the pool and play area, and when it's time to head on out to explore, guests will be spoilt for choice as the nearby Metro station connects the area to the rest of the city, making sightseeing easier than ever. 

Spend your days relaxing and soaking up those delicious Spanish rays at the neighbouring beach, which can be reached in as little as a ten-minute stroll, while the stunningly unique architecture that Barcelona is so famous for can be seen in the same amount of time. For those looking to spend the day shopping, dining and wine tasting, your neighbourhood of Diagonal Mar, as well as the cultural melting pot of La Rambla are the perfect spots, and if you're looking to venture out further afield for something truly spectacular, we highly recommend The Temple Expiatori del Sagrat Cor, which can be reached in a thirty-minute drive, or forty minutes by public transport.

Fractal

As far as homes in La Dreta de l'Eixample go, Caletre is a solid representation of the neighbourhood's architecture. Adorned with Modernist masterpieces, this part of Barcelona boasts great architecture on every corner and even the insides of an unassuming building like this one show some masterful craft. True, the street you'll be staying on is a little bit noisy, but we think that easy access to the cultural heart of town more than makes up for it.
