This charming apartment is ideal for friends or a couple with a young family wanting to experience the best of Barcelona. It can be found in a pleasant residential area that’s close enough to all the major sights so you’re not missing out, but is also slightly removed from the crowds. 

You’ll wake up in the morning feeling refreshed after a great night’s sleep, and if you’re anything like us on a city break, you’ll be raring to go. Pop to a bakery nearby for breakfast pastries and coffees, and stroll three minutes to pretty Jardins de Can Miralletes to start your day in a pretty green space. Next up, meander along to La Sagrada Familia – it only takes eighteen minutes on foot. If it’s too hot for walking, the Camp de l’Arpa metro station is three minutes away from the apartment, so you can nip around the city easily – popular spots like Passeig de Gracia take fifteen minutes to reach. 

After a hectic day of sightseeing, returning to this apartment is immediately relaxing. It was renovated in early 2022 so it’s fresh and modern, with comfort at the fore. The original wood details that have been incorporated add warmth – this really is a lovely space to call home.

Bedrooms two and three are both extremely small, but we won't hold this against an otherwise fab home. The living space might just be home to the most beautiful flooring in the Plum Collection – we are obsessed!

We didn't expect to find a home like this in an unassuming building like the one that hides the Trojan Horse. It's obvious that an interior designer was involved in the curation of this stylish home — there's a consistent theme of industrial chic, that's best expressed by the bare brick wall and sleek lampshades. There's an abundance of natural light with two balconies extending the clutter-free and clean living space and helping this relatively small home maximise its assets. Find a sunny reading spot by the window on a Wegner-inspired chair and gather around the vibrant dining area for convivial coffee and churros – we loved the bright yellow chairs. Both bedrooms benefit from tasteful scatter cushions, throws and quirky headboards that make for a light and airy spot to relax with a magazine. From Gràcia, all the major sights are well within walking distance, including the Sagrada Familia under twenty minutes away. Explore the local neighbourhood, stopping off at its trendy cafes and family-run eateries – wherever you are, a jug of sangria and a plate of paella are never too far from hand. 

Trojan Horse

This stylish apartment, housed in a grand period building, has a fantastic address. Gaudí's masterpiece Casa Batlló is a three-minute saunter, while it's a six-minute stroll to Paseo De Gracia with its museums and designer boutiques galore (Gucci, Chanel and Versace, amongst many others). Plaza Catalunya and Las Ramblas, on the other hand, are a ten-minute walk away or visit one of Barcelona's most iconic attractions, the Sagrada Familia, just over twenty minutes on foot.

Back at this home, open the French doors to the balcony and have a seat on the comfy sofa after all that sightseeing. We love the high ceilings here and traditional wall mouldings. There's a gorgeous, modern four-poster bed as well – this place is perfect for a couple or friends looking for a bolt hole in Barcelona.

Ronda Universitat is close to Plaça Catalunya and the Modernist sights of Eixample. The central location of this convenient address is a great asset and if this is your first visit to Barcelona – it doesn't get much better than this. Enjoy being within walking distance of all the best shops, restaurants, and cultural sights including Casa Batllo and Gaudi's other spectacular works of art (a ten-minute walk away). With so much to see and do nearby, catching some respite from the city is easy here – as a soothing colour palette with calming wood tones and soft furnishings create a space boasting comfort and practicality. Sink into the plush "L" shaped sofa with a cup of tea, before running a bath and unwinding for a quiet night at home. For evenings when you're feeling most energised, lap up the ease of going on nights out too – it would be rude not to make the most of being able to walk out here after all. And of course, if you do plan on venturing further afield in the city, you'll have bus stops and metro stations within less than five minutes reach too.

It's clear that Gingerbread Cinder was designed by a professional – original vaulted ceilings and exposed brick walls are a challenge to pull off, but these guys succeeded using minimal, high-quality furniture. This is an immaculate home with lots of natural light and several external balconies, perfect for people-watching. Located in Barcelona's 'it' neighbourhood El Born, you'll be within walking distance to the most famous sights, as well as local hidden gems.

We particularly love the deep crimson tiled bathroom and dark green feature walls. Pick up an art book from the shelf and have a flick through as you catch some rays on the balconette. From up here, the Urquinaona metro stop is so close you can almost see it – just one minute away, hop on to be whisked around the entire city. But there’s plenty to do on foot. See Gaudí’s masterpieces Casa Batlló and Casa Milà, a fifteen and twenty-minute walk respectively, on the elegant broadway of Passeig de Gràcia. You can hit some designer shops en route, before winding back to your locale for tapas and a glass of Spanish wine.

In a traditional building, recently modernised with eco-conscious touches, this character apartment is set between the El Born and Eixample neighbourhoods. With sustainability in mind, the hosts have hand-picked recycled wood for the quirky kitchen cabinets, along with things like vintage glasses and upcycled armchairs. The mini-bar with local eco soaps, toothbrushes, beers, wine and juices is a nice touch and there's nothing like stepping out onto your little balcony, glass in hand, and taking in the sights and sounds of this vibrant area. Bedrooms are calm and quiet, and all the more beautiful thanks to their Catalan tiled floors, high ceilings and tall windows. But our favourite thing about this charming place is the hosts, who live in an apartment on the top floor and are welcoming and knowledgeable. They'll look after your bags before or after checkout, welcome you with a local breakfast and even allow you to use their beautiful roof terrace from time to time – where you can see across the city to the sea.

Just eight minutes from the Plaça de Catalunya on foot, this renovated home boasts a central location in the heart of Barcelona. You'll find it in the Eixample, tucked away in an elegant alleyway and offering a quiet refuge from the tourist hustle and bustle. Here, you're surrounded by a delightful array of boutiques and eateries and within walking distance of the main sights. Go shopping on Passeig de Gràcia, picnic in Ciutadella Park or marvel at the Sagrada Familia – all less than a twenty-minute stroll from your doorstep.

Two balconies – one at the front and one at the back of this apartment – provide beautiful views of the neighbourhood and you can even see a little bit of the sea on sunny days. Up on the top floor, natural light floods the rooms. The open living space in soft grey and teal velvet is particularly sunny. Glass doors lead out to the front terrace where waxy green banana leaves sprout from planters and dining is set for four. There’s a lazy hammock in the corner too, so you can take in that rooftop view all the way to the Sagrada Familia. You'll be able to plan your holiday from the comfort of the terrace as Barcelona spreads like a map before you. Located only minutes away from Plaça Catalunya, you'll have easy access to all parts of the city.

A steady theme of chocolatey tones paired with minimalistic furnishings made us feel like we were in the home of a deep thinker. Still, there are small details that breathe some warmth into the flat – the Catalan hydraulic tiles on the floor, the modern art on the walls, and the red velvet seats on the balcony. The balcony has a perfect people-watching view over the leafy boulevard below. The kitchen as black as backstage at a theatre and dramatically downlit, but it's not all style over substance as the cupboards are packed with everything you could want for self-catering. Should you need to catch up on work, the second bedroom doubles as an office. When it comes to clocking off you couldn't be better placed with Passeig de Gracia one block away, where Gaudí's masterpiece 'La Pedrera' and famous hotels like Omm and Hotel Casa Fuster reside. The apartment itself is in the 'Cuadrat d'Or' (Golden Square), an area packed with bars, restaurants and high-end shops galore.

In this serene, village-like area with a traditional Catalan vibe, your apartment is just a six-minute stroll from the Fabra i Puig metro (meaning you’ll be at the Sagrada Familia in just fifteen minutes).
