The town of Gaucín is roughly ten minutes away on foot, where you can stroll through the winding streets and admire the pretty white-washed houses. And, if you fancy a day trip, you can drive to the coast in around half an hour for a day on the sand at Playa de Sabinillas.

With the beach of la Barrosa and its bars and fish restaurants at your fingertips, you'll also find Chiclana de la Frontera, just fifteen minutes away. Meanwhile, the surrounding area has plenty of golf courses and viewpoints for watching the dreamy sunset alongside historical points of interest, such as the Castillo de Sancti Petri.

Set within a six-acre estate dotted with fruit trees, this countryside home feels more like a private village than a villa. Bedrooms are housed in individual bungalows, each with its own patio and garden, while the main house provides an elegant meeting point for cooking and relaxing together. But it's the grounds that really steal the show – with a saltwater swimming pool and plenty of scenic spots for dining under the stars, or simply soaking up the views. Location-wise, you're in true farming country here, while being just a twenty-minute drive from the  charming town of Ronda, famed for its cuisine and historic sights.

Ronda Hideaway

Surrounded by palm trees and fragrant gardens, this grand villa in the Costa del Sol has beautiful views of the mountains, sumptuously decorated rooms, and a spectacular swimming pool. There are three floors and lots of steps, and some of the furnishings are a little dated, especially in the kitchen, so it may not be to everyone's taste. But the highlight of this home is its views, allowing you to survey Gaucín and its majestic castle, or see all the way to the African coast on a clear day.

One glance at that water slide and you know this villa will be a hit with the little ones in your group – and the young at heart, too. Add in the glistening swimming pool, fun-filled playroom and expansive terrace and this pad totally ticks our boxes.

Days here start and end outside, soaking up Costa del Sol's endless rays. Take your morning tea on the patio and watch the ducks float by in the private lake, then make a splash in the pool and cool off from the heat. Dinner is best served alfresco as the afternoon slowly fades to nighttime. Don't feel like cooking? Your host can arrange a private chef to do all the hard work for you.

Inside, sunlight filters through the arched windows and reflects off the white-washed walls. The interior is contemporary and sleek, yet each room feels as cosy as it does stylish – and none more so than the impressive main suite, which boasts wall-to-wall views over the garden. There's no better way to end the evening than with a soak in the lavish freestanding bath. Sink into the bubbles with a glass of local wine and admire the stars outside your window.

Location-wise, Nagueles is tucked away from the hustle and bustle, but don't let that fool you. The Golden Mile and many picturesque beaches are just a short drive away. This home is all about the location for us. Situated on the main avenue in the heart of Marbella, you’ll find the beach, promenade, and a selection of eateries within walking distance. Of course, with convenience comes the potential for some street noise and neighbouring buildings within close proximity – we think it’s worth it though to have everything on your doorstep. As a party of five, one guest will sleep on the sofa bed in the living room, but this makes a great base for a family or group of friends. 

Lemon Lace

Nestled in the heart of ancient Andalusia, this secluded sanctuary is a modern touch of luxury. Rural and tranquil, the villa is surrounded by raw, natural beauty from every angle – find a sprawling vineyard behind the house and the jagged rocks of the Sierras in the foreground. You will need a car to get around here, but it's just a short drive to the nearest amenities and beaches in Benalmádena.
