Away from Lanzarote's well-trodden tourist trail, this home offers a peaceful escape in the northeast of the island. Set on the grounds of a 300-year-old farm just outside the village of Guatiza, it offers easy access to the volcanic landscapes of Tenegüime National Park and the waters of the North Atlantic. Its rustic interior decor is in keeping with its rural location, but given Lanzarote's fantastic year-round climate, we imagine you'll spend most of your time in the courtyard garden surrounded by tropical plants. You're within a short stroll of a small supermarket and several bars and restaurants, plus César Manrique's world-famous cactus garden. Meanwhile, there's a beautiful golden beach at Arrieta, a ten-minute drive away.

"Thinking of a dream holiday where comfort and tranquillity are part of everyday life? This modern accommodation refurbished in 2023 is ideal for you! Situated in one of the best areas of Playa del Inglés, just a few steps from the Yumbo Shopping Centre, restaurants, and the beach. It is located in a very quiet holiday complex, has quality materials and finishes and an unbeatable distribution. It has a terrace with views, two bedrooms, one bathroom, and a communal swimming pool. The house, refurbished in 2023, with a modern style, is distributed as follows: Entering the house, we find the living room-kitchen. On one side there is a bathroom with shower and the 2 bedrooms. On the other side of the accommodation, we find the living room and the terrace, which has an outdoor chair and dining area. The kitchen is fully equipped, with dishwasher and kitchen utensils. There is free high-speed wifi in all rooms and air conditioning in the lounge."

This gorgeous villa is a dream nest for a couple on a romantic getaway on the island of Lanzarote. The first thing that caught our eye is the lush private garden which surrounds this home – the owners are passionate gardeners, and it certainly shows. There’s an abundance of space out here and plenty of charming nooks amidst the greenery – whether you fancy a sparkling barbecue soiree or a private moment with a book, there’s a spot here for you. 

Inside, you’ll find a cosy and welcoming space, with a living room inviting you to kick back and relax in front of the wood burner. Enjoy an evening of movies and conversation, or step into the well-equipped kitchen and rustle up a delicious supper which you can share with your companion at the table. 

A night of restful repose awaits in the comfy bedroom – in the morning, wake up restored and ready to explore. With the stunning Arrieta beach just a short drive away, and with the countless picturesque hiking and cycling trails, there’s no chance you’ll be bored.

Inside, you'll love the crisp, contemporary interiors that unite this three-storey townhouse. The place dazzles from top to toe in crisp white, while nautical stripes remind you the deep blue sea is never far away. Over in the pared-back, light-filled bedrooms, kids will love the novelty of the ground-floor bedroom with bunkbeds. While grown-ups can have that top floor suite with a private terrace all to themselves – the perfect spot for peaceful morning coffees to kickstart your day.

If little ones are still full of beans after a day at the beach, the shared playground will keep them happy. Then mosey down to the marina (a five-minute stroll) to gawp at the superyachts before dinner at one of the complex's restaurants. Or, for something a little buzzier, jump in the car for an evening in Meloneras (a five-minute drive). The beach bars and grill restaurants lining the Paseo de las Meloneras waterfront are just the spot for soaking up the sunsets.

This is one of the more minimalist homes we’ve seen in Tenerife, with white walls and clean, unfussy architectural lines throughout. However, it’s anything but barren – with this view of the harbour visible from almost every window, any other adornment would be like gilding the lily. Bright artworks and natural materials add understated warmth to interiors, but the star of the show is the outdoor area – swinging seats, lounge chairs, a lush green lawn, and a sparkling pool make Lemon Crush a refreshing little island oasis in the heart of Tenerife.

Lemon Crush

Surrounded by palm trees and greenery, this Tenerife home transports you to scenes of South East Asia; an exotic paradise alive with botanica. Your own terracotta temple worships nature to the fullest, with hidden coves of seated areas, terraces, a pond, and trickling fountain. Alongside the tranquil beauty, the outdoors comes with a touch of fun and games too, boasting a children’s playhouse and flat lawn for a kick about. There’s a stone patio with a built-in barbecue for outdoor dining and a pool to dive straight into. Inside, wooden floors and ceilings, a tiled kitchen, and exposed beams carry that rustic feel. A balcony runs the entire length of the house, fringed with old-world wooden railings. This sparkling villa is tailor-made for large families or groups of friends looking for private luxury in rural Gran Canaria. Blessed with tranquility and boasting a fun-filled games room, it has the vibe of a five-star hotel that's reserved just for you. 

A huge open-plan living space – decorated in white walls and with tinges of colour on the furniture – is perfect for spending time as one group. However, when the sun sets on the terracotta tiles, you probably want to spend time outdoors.
