In this rural haven, there is plenty of room to bask in the sun. The two single beds in one of the bedrooms make it ideal for bringing your children on vacation, especially with the sparkling pool in the backyard. Float on your back while gazing up at the blue sky; here's your reminder to wear sunscreen. The cottage's interior has a rustic motif and is large enough to accommodate a family.

Gather the family around the wooden table, which features a unique autumnal tree feature. Though this may slightly block your view while attempting to talk to your loved ones, you have to admit that it looks fantastic. While sipping a martini on the wooden roof area, listen to your children's laughter as they play in the pool.

We recommend renting a car when staying here due to the property's remote location. The nearest beach is about a twelve–minute drive away, and the restaurants and stores in the area are only accessible by vehicle, unless you like long walks. However, in a location like this with gorgeous views, is a long walk really a bad thing?

The Rustic Roadtrip

Found on seventeen acres of land, this former mill house is now a gateway to the whitewashed town of Arcos de la Frontera. The beamed ceilings and exposed stone walls are a welcome reminder of what the home used to be, but the waterwheel in the dining room and millstream in the garden are what truly pays homage to its history. Not everyone may fall in love with the rusticness, but the house is roomy and sunny, and with two separate casitas, the whole family can have their own private space. Children will love the matura woodland garden and swimming pool, whilst adults will appreciate drinks and alfresco dining on the shaded terrace.

This Andalusian home is a cute getaway for a small family or group of friends. Though the home is quite traditional, it is well-kept and features a fully-equipped kitchen and open-plan dining area. Whiling away in the Spanish sunshine will be no bother in the garden – there's a private pool and a chill-out area with a cosy hammock, while kids will enjoy the ping-pong table, trampoline, and swing set. When it comes to cooking meals, the covered barbecue area is perfect for alfresco dinners surrounded by the area’s beautiful green landscapes.

Set in a rural spot in La Peña, just a fifteen-minute drive from fascinating Tarifa, here you'll be at the most southerly point in Spain. Or head along the coast to Gibraltar to see the famous rock.

There are plenty of tapas bars to sample, or visit the Park of the Perdigones, a seven-minute stroll away. There’s a Nordic style here, and the atrium fills the interiors with natural light, but we'd still say the space is fairly basic. And, at full capacity two people will be sleeping on a sofa in the living room – so you'll all need to get on well.

Dating back to the 1500s when the building served as a school before becoming barracks in the 1800s, it now welcomes families on their Seville getaway. It has since been modernised, but some original charms remain in vaulted ceilings and exposed beams. Though the history here is fascinating, and the apartment is spacious, the location is what drew us in. It's opposite the House of Sirens and only a stone's throw from Alameda de Hercules. You can also find some of Seville's landmark sights within walking distance.
