Then, whip up an orange juice with the juicer and prepare a tortilla de patatas for breakfast before heading out to the beach.

Considered one of the best urban beaches in the world, the golden sands of La Canteras are under a two-minute stroll. Rent some sun loungers and spend the day here – there are plenty of cafes and restaurants to sample in the vicinity too. Or, for a bit of culture, Las Palmas Cathedral is a ten-minute ride away.


La Canteras Vistas

With the capital’s sandy shores just 20 metres from your door, there are no prizes for guessing this smart studio apartment’s biggest draw. Perfect for business travellers or couples looking for a fuss-free central base, you can take your pick from the various dining options and seafront bars dotted about the neighbourhood. Back home, while this newbuild apartment may be a studio, it offers all the creature comforts, including a well-equipped kitchen with a coffee pod machine for those obligatory morning brews. If we were being picky, it’s a shame not to have any outdoor space to call your own. But with the sandy beach just a flip-flop away, we’ll forgive that. 

Casa Abierta

Stays on the southern coast of Lanzarote are made even sweeter when you choose this elegant holiday home. Based in the marina village of Puerto Calero, just a stone's throw from a beautiful sandy beach, this home offers some breathtaking views of the ocean, both from the pool deck and through the floor-to-ceiling windows when you're inside.

Inside the home is warm and welcoming, with a large dining area where you can all tuck into delicious paellas and tapas together, as well as a lounge area for enjoying drinks and party games in the evenings. The outside is where the home truly shines though, with a pool with Roman steps, ideal for splashing around in the sun – as well as lots of poolside loungers where you can rest while you gaze out at the sea. There's a covered terrace here too, with an alfresco dining area that's ideal for sipping on Cava as the sun sets.

Soak up the Sea

This eco-friendly studio apartment is situated just moments away from the Las Canteras beach, making it a good base for a couple or a solo traveller. Thanks to the central location, a car is not essential here, as you’ll have plenty of shopping and dining options to choose from within walking distance. Public transport options are also excellent if you want to explore further afield. The pad may be compact in size but there’s enough space here for two guests to be comfortable, and with good internet speed, you can also catch up on work during your stay – although you'll have to set-up shop around the dining table since there isn't a desk.

This beachfront apartment puts you just steps away from the golden sands of Playa de Las Canteras. Inside, it’s bright and contemporary, with large windows running the length of the flat and offering sea views from both the living space and the bedroom. The kitchen doesn’t have an oven, but there’s a stove for preparing light bites, and you’re within easy walking distance of restaurants, shops, and beach bars. In fact, unless you’re planning to explore further afield, you won’t need a car here – and your host can even arrange airport transfers so you can slip straight into holiday mode.

Sea Breeze Hideaway

Just 50 metres from Gran Canaria’s famous Playa de Las Canteras, this apartment couldn’t be better located. Shops, restaurants, and everything you might need are all within easy walking distance. Inside, the design is fuss-free yet contemporary. A small balcony is perfect for morning coffees or evening sundowners, while the kitchen is kitted out with all the essentials for home-cooked meals. All in all, it’s a great choice for anyone wanting to stay just a short stroll from the beach.

Seaside Sunset

Nestled in the Canarian village of Tías in Lanzarote, this contemporary villa ticks all the boxes for a coastal family stay. Inside, the home is simply styled, with plenty of space for everyone to spread out – and with each bedroom boasting its own en-suite, there will be no queue to get ready in the mornings. With Love From Lanzarote

There's something utterly relaxing about this seventh-floor flat, perched right next to La Puntilla. Between the seaside-inspired design, luminous living space and floor-to-ceiling windows boasting panoramas of the rolling waves, you'll have that beachy keen feeling from the moment you walk through the door. And trust us, with the Atlantic Ocean sparkling in the distance, you'll want to spend all day basking in that view.

Perfect for a couple, this pad has plenty of places to kick back and get comfortable. Plop down in the yellow chair with a good book and a refreshing drink, watching the ebb and flow of the tide. Shops, markets and eateries are also close at hand – as are options for hiking (Isleta Nature Reserve is a six-minute drive) and sightseeing (Plaza Santa Ana is thirteen minutes by car).

Sunburst Sepia

This comfortable, functional apartment is nestled between two of Gran Canaria's beautiful black sand beaches in the eastern region of Telde. The amenities may be more basic than refined, but everything is all in order, with the living area making room for a dining table and flowing into a well-equipped kitchen. The sleeping areas are cosy and agreeable, as is the bathroom, while the private balcony is a pleasant addition catching plenty of sun. You'll be moments from the neighbourhood's popular bars and restaurants, while you'll also have the choice of Melenara to the north and Salineta to the south for a relaxing and unique day at the beach.

On the warm, sunny afternoons, the pool is an idyllic spot to bask under the gentle rays. Grab a drink from the fridge to cool down, or immerse in a sunbathing session on the sun beds. Come the evening, share tapas, paella and a bottle of wine on the outdoor dining table. 

When the sun sets on the colourful outdoors, snuggle up in a cushioned seat to watch the sky turn a dusty red.
