Situated at the foot of the ski runs at the 1500m elevation mark in Baquiera, it’s right by the gondola exit – fresh mountain air has never felt so close, or skiing so effortless. Slopes aside, the views are breathtaking; when the snow is good, it truly feels like a winter wonderland. The home itself is rustic and modern in style and perfect for a small family – bunkbeds in the second bedroom might pose problems for groups of adults. While there's a definite preference for wood in the furnishings and finishes, the interior is actually a lot more contemporary than it might appear at first glance. The sleek white kitchen, for example, wouldn't look out of place in a city apartment.

The architect was clearly aware of the majesty of the surroundings as there are plenty of large windows, which also have the added benefit of bathing the interior in natural light.
