Inside the home, it’s calm and collected with Nordic-inspired furnishings and natural textures that add an inviting warmth to the place. The kitchenette is equipped with everything you need for putting together traditional Spanish dishes and the bright living area is the perfect place to unwind with an evening glass of wine. Leading off the bedroom, you’ll find a dink balcony – it was our favourite place to start the morning with a cup of coffee.

Adapted for wheelchair users, this room, with accessible shower, is only a short ride from iconic landmarks like Museo Nacional del Prado and Chocolatería San Ginés. 

The Flowering Iris

If you’re seeking a quieter location in the vibrant city of Madrid, this pad might be for you. Situated in Puente de Vallecas, this modern apartment is just a ten-minute walk from two metro stations, so you can be easily transported to the city centre when you’re ready to catch the sights. There’s plenty of space for a family or group of friends, with your host able to provide a cot and high chair for little ones, though please note two guests will be sleeping on the sofa bed in the living room. And while the kitchen is only equipped for light bites, we think you’ll want to sample Madrid’s’ eclectic culinary offerings.

This pocket-sized aparthotel suite outside the city centre doesn’t have many bells and whistles, but its proximity to public transport means you can easily reach Madrid’s most famous sights with ease and return to a base away from the tourist crowds. Given its compact size, using the sofa bed would make it a tight squeeze, but couples or solo travellers will find it a comfortable fit. There’s a coffee machine on hand and a desk space too – ideal for corporate travellers – and while there isn’t a kitchen here, you’ll find a selection of restaurants and bars just beyond your door. 


Mint Madrigal

You’ll find this compact studio apartment a five-minute walk from the Nueva Numancia Metro Station, connecting you to Madrid’s best-loved sights in less than thirty minutes. It's not in the centre, so we think it suits those wanting a quieter stay away from the tourist hotspots. While this pad can accommodate four guests, we’d recommend a maximum of two, as once the sofa bed is in use, there’s not much space for socialising. The kitchen is well-equipped for a studio, but if you’d prefer to head out for dinner, there are plenty of restaurants on the doorstep.

Live like a local in this apartment in the Puente de Vallecas district. This place caught our eye due to its large roof terrace with its views over the neighbourhood’s streets. There’s room for dining and sunbathing here, while there’s a distinctly stylish Nordic aesthetic indoors. One of the beds is in the living room behind a room divider, and at full capacity, another two guests will be sleeping on a sofa bed in the lounge too, which may not suit everyone. Though not in the centre, this area has a young vibe and good travel connections – Puerta del Sol is a direct twenty-minute metro ride away, while the Royal Palace is under thirty minutes.

Ideal for couples, small families and solo travellers who don’t want to be in the thick of things in Madrid, this apartment is in a residential area. It’s not far from the action – you need only walk a minute or two to reach Chamartín station and can be in the centre of the city in no time – but it’s nice and quiet. There’s a desk in the bedroom, too, so this is a good option for those in town for business. The apartment is bright and welcoming, and you’ll have access to shared facilities including a heated swimming pool, sauna, and gym. 

Eternal Elegance

A six-minute stroll from the Nueva Numancia station, this minimalist apartment offers great public transport links for sightseers and commuters alike. Indoors, this home keeps things simple with its Scandinavian style, but climbing the stairs to the third floor won't work for everyone. That said, we think that the free toiletries and baby travel equipment offer a thoughtful touch to holidaymakers. Greenery awaits at the Real Jardin Botanico, and the Paseo del Prado Boulevard is a thirty-minute metro ride away.

The Spanish Sun

You'll find this home in the heart of Madrid, close to the Gran Vía, Plaza Mayor, and Puerta del Sol. It's ideal for those in search of a central base from which to explore the city, but keep in mind that some street noise should be expected here. The apartment provides an open living area and a large dining table suitable for group feasts. You'll also find three en-suite bathrooms which will help to speed mornings along, plus a sleek bathtub in the main bedroom. And while there's no room for seating out on the balcony, we still think it's a pleasant spot to perch and gather your thoughts before heading out into the hustle and bustle of the Spanish capital. 


Madrid Mosaic

Located in the heart of Chueca, with its authentic array of bars, cafes, and plazas, this apartment is well-situated for exploring Madrid’s iconic sights. Madrid is easily explored on foot, but should you wish to hop on the metro, Noviciado and Tribunal are a few steps away. The interiors are fairly simple, though perfectly practical for a city stay. There’s a balcony for admiring the streets below, though there’s no seating out here. And while it may feel a little cramped with three guests, it’s a great option should you need flexibility.

The Modern Line

If a central location is high on your list of priorities, then it's time to stop scrolling. From here, you'll find a great selection of shops, bars and restaurants along the famous Gran Vía. You're also just a few minutes away on foot from the city's popular landmarks such as the Prado Museum. At home, there's a laptop-friendly desk in the single bedroom, while the sleek kitchen and breakfast bar are perfect for sociable dining as a group. Keep in mind that some street noise should be expected here, but we think it's a small price to pay for this enviable spot in the heart of Madrid.  

Alcalá Oasis

Situated in the San Diego neighbourhood, this apartment is ideal for those who want peace and quiet away from the thrum of central Madrid. Parking is available for an additional fee, or if you'd prefer to stick to public transport, there are bus routes nearby. The place is simple, functional and comfortable, guaranteeding a stress-free break. While a group of four is accomodated for, space is limited, especially in the living area and when the sofa bed is in use.


After Light

Surrounded by restaurants, bars, boutiques and museums, you won't need to travel far from this Eixample Esquerra home to find your fun. And that's not including the beach and Gothic Quarter, both of which can be reached in less than thirty minutes by metro. Back at home, we think you'll like the chic decor, and the kitchenette is ideal if you want to spend an evening at home after a day on your feet. And if you need to get some work done, the desk by the windows at least lets you enjoy the sunshine while you do it,

A Toast to the City

Opposite the iconic bullfighting ring, Plaza de Toros de Las Ventas, this home has an enviable location. It's extremely well-connected to public transport links and plenty of traditional tapas spots are within walking distance. Some of the furniture is a little dated and the touristic photography won't be everyone's cup of tea, but it still has plenty of strengths. Recently renovated, everything works perfectly. The wifi is speedy, the parquet flooring is immaculate, and we loved the little terrace – a sweet place to enjoy breakfast before heading out to explore the city.

Sweet Rosa

If you’re looking for a place to rest your head that offers you a taste of the true Spanish lifestyle, this apartment is for you. Nestled away in Puente de Vallecas, you’ll find yourself surrounded by history, art, and of course, a great selection of restaurants and bars. Not only that, getting to the centre of Madrid is a breeze. 

Sometimes, simplicity speaks volumes, and that’s what we love about this home. It’s clean, modern and classy, and the pops of ochre tie all the different areas together. Whether you’re visiting with friends or family, it’s the perfect place to retreat to at the end of the day. Nominate a cook, and while they’re perfecting their paella in the kitchen, everyone else can gather around and recap on all the amazing things the day offered, without anyone missing out on the action. As the sound of chatter and laughter fills the air, sip on some sangria and appreciate some downtime with those you love.

When it’s time to tear yourself away from the comfort of this home, you’ll find almost everything on your doorstep. Dine out and enjoy some Spanish cuisine, or take in some of the city’s history with Paseo del Prado and Plaza del Sol just a metro ride away from this relaxing retreat.

This elegant home provides an idyllic base for a family or group of friends seeking a calm retreat with cultural hotspots on the doorstep.

We knew that, if the towering wooden front door with pretty cast iron rosettes was anything to go by, this home would be hiding away some pretty impressive features. From the elegant archway to the hand-painted floral panels, the sweet antique toy horse to the immaculately-tiled kitchen – it's a real gem. There’s a tranquil ambience here, which invites you to wind down in the cosy living space whilst the central dining table insists on a homemade tapas spread for a memorable night with your loved ones. 

The surrounding streets are packed with a host of options. Mornings can be best spent altogether walking around El Retiro Park, just a twelve-minute walk away. When it comes to lunch, there’s a whirlwind of culinary offerings so take your pick - a meat-centred affair at Sala de Despiece or hard-hitting small plates at Tripea’s open kitchen in ​​Mercado de Vallehermoso. After your fill, contemplate the artworks in Prado Museum or pop into the boutiques that line the Golden Mile.

El Caballito

Combining the cosy comforts of a home with all the amenities of a hotel, this sleek apartment is a delightful escape. The kitchen is modern and bright, with a huge island that makes cooking a dream. After a busy afternoon exploring, we loved planting ourselves on the barstools, sipping sangria and nibbling on tapas. In the living room, a glossy wood floor and wicker accents add touches of warmth, while the French doors open onto a small Juliet balcony that overlooks leafy Calle del Almirante. The bedroom has a second Juliet balcony – this one looks onto the communal courtyard – as well as a sumptuous bed and en-suite bathroom. Underfloor heating and lush rainfall showers round out the amenities, and with daily cleaning included, you'll always come home to a sparkling flat. We also loved the location – it's a residential neighbourhood bursting with Madrid character, upscale restaurants, chic bars and independent shops. For a night on the town, buzzing Chueca is a five-minute walk and has a charming array of sidewalk cafes, trendy eateries and lively nightlife. Five minutes in the other direction is Recoletos Station, so zipping around the rest of Madrid is a breeze.

Nestled on the 23rd floor of the iconic Torre de Madrid building in the Plaza de España square, this apartment is a truly special find. Not only does it place you right in the heart of the city, but it also has a range of amenities and plenty of style to ensure your stay is a roaring success. 

The views are simply to die for – pour a glass of Rioja and gaze out across the Spanish capital from the chic living room. This is the perfect place to relax at the end of a busy day, high above the hustle and bustle. When the temperature rises, you can take a refreshing dip in the rooftop swimming pool, before catching some rays in the solarium and then refueling with some home-cooked dishes fresh from the zesty green kitchen. 

Down on the ground floor, you can hit the theatres, bars, and restaurants lining Gran Via Avenue, which is just across the road. Culture fans can stroll over to the Royal Palace of Madrid in around ten minutes, before admiring the gorgeous baroque cathedral next door. And, if you want some green space, you can walk to La Montaña Park for a picnic with views over to the mountains beyond the city.

Home Cinema Setup

A lush cinema room is a rarity in any city and a first for us in Madrid. Due to the cosy nature of Cinemateca (and a vast selection of movies to watch), we wouldn't recommend it to someone with a big bucket list of things to see in Madrid – we suspect you'll be tempted to stay in most nights. But if you do venture out, you'll find yourself in only minutes away from Plaza Mayor and Puerta del Sol, which will make sightseeing pleasant and effortless. Did we mention that the master bedroom has a massage bath? We're pretty sure this is one of our favourites. 

Cinemateca

Tucked away in a typical Madrid townhouse in Chamberí, Grottino is a great base to explore the city. The streets surrounding this home are part of a neighbourhood that's just as opulent as Salamanca, yet closer to the old centre – which is great for a first-time visitor. Grottino might not be the brightest home in our collection, but a lot of care has been invested in designing the lighting in this small home, so that it resembles an urban chalet. We particularly liked the brick wall in the bathroom and the chic kitchenette.

Sitting within the Puente de Vallecas district of the Spanish capital, this apartment will appeal to those with a preference for stylish yet simple design.

Stark white walls and smart wooden floors are a timelessly chic combination and make for a blank canvas against which colourful furnishings and accent walls really stand out – not to mention a couple of towering house plants. The super-sleek kitchen is not only easy on the eye but also has enough surface space for whipping up family-sized feasts.

The local area is a little more residential than the city's more touristy areas, but Madrid's most famous sights aren't too far away, either. You can reach the southern side of the Parque de el Retiro – recently added to UNESCO's World Heritage list – in twenty minutes by bus, while the striking architecture of Gran Vía is only half an hour away on the metro.

Inside, this contemporary pad has everything you need to make yourself at home after a day filled with shopping and sightseeing in the Spanish sun. Kick back on the cosy sectional sofa with a glass of Cava and rest weary legs, or head straight to the stylish bedroom for some well-deserved shut-eye. Although it's small, the innovative design makes the most of the space – a small desk is tucked into the bookshelf, built-in appliances in the kitchen keep everything sleek and tidy and the coffee table can become a four-seater dining table if needed. Every room is filled with light and features vibrant artwork, white-washed walls and minimal decor – we think it's the perfect blend of comfort and style.

You'll be in good company with a stay at this elegant apartment, overlooking one of Madrid's most iconic baroque churches and with the emblematic Royal Palace just around the corner. With so many hotspots on your doorstep, it's no surprise this place is slap bang in Madrid's Centro district. Dive into its history-rich streets dotted with royal palaces and uncover leafy plazas at every turn – there's a sunny spot at an outdoor cafe waiting just for you when thoughts turn to a crisp glass of vino and tapas plates. More of a sweet tooth? Then the famed Chocolatería San Ginés for churros with chocolate is dangerously close, just a five-minute stroll away.

Back home, behind the building's opulent 1880s façade, a crisp, contemporary home awaits. Flanked by Juliet balcony doors opening onto the neighbouring Iglesia de San Nicolás, natural daylight bounces off the bleached wood floors right up to those high ceilings to glorious effect. With a free-flowing living space, king-sized bedrooms, and two marble-clad walk-in shower rooms to kickstart your day, this place feels vast by Madrid standards. And you're sorted for work with a dedicated desk tucked away in the bedroom – though that dining table with a view is as good a spot as any to play catch-up on emails. We stumbled upon Gatito while looking at homes with high and mighty terraces. Madrid isn't a beach city, but this home will have you thinking that the sea is just on the other side of the building, which is a key part of its charm. The insides are chic, designed for comfort and a good night's sleep, but it's the dining room that gets the best light and will turn meals into an experience for the senses. There isn't much art around – this is a full-time rental home after all, but if you're after something nice to look at, then we can recommend the scenic view.

The bedroom meanwhile is elegantly pared-back and offers yet another balcony that beckons morning coffees as your soak up those early morning rays. When you’re not hanging out in your scrumptiously sweet pad, take in breathtaking views over the city from Tío Pío's Hill (a twenty-minute walk) and discover the many shops, restaurants and bars on your doorstep. Alternatively, hop on the Metro to experience the city centre’s iconic sights like El Retiro Park and the Prado Museum which are both just under thirty minutes away.

Soak up the cool, authentic vibe of Madrid’s Puente de Vallecas neighbourhood from this bright, modern apartment. We love the collection of houseplants that add bright pops of colour to the sophisticated grey and black colour palette, as well as the tangerine armchair that exudes sunshine vibes. The bedroom, meanwhile, is a comfortable space that invites a peaceful night’s sleep, not to mention a glorious wake-up that calls for coffee on the private balcony first thing. 

Outside of your home, you’ve got plenty of local restaurants, bars and shops to explore, while El Retiro Park beckons long afternoon ambles, a twenty-five-minute walk away. We also recommend making a beeline for Tío Pío's Hill (a fifteen-minute walk) whose prime vantage point invites breathtaking panoramic views over the city’s skyline.
