You'll find this apartment in Argüelles, home to low-key tapas bars, art-house cinemas, and traditional eateries popular with students. Exploring is a breeze here. Ventura Rodriguez metro station is a short walk away, though you can also stroll to Plaza Mayor and the Royal Palace in about twenty minutes. Back home, there's a practical yet cosy living space. The kitchen is well-appointed for rustling up light bites, while three bedrooms offer respite after a long day on your feet. If you're looking for a laid-back stay, this pad is a great choice.

Fronds of Ivory

Located in one of Madrid's most charming neighbourhoods, the Barrio de las Letras –  step outside and you'll discover terrific restaurants, trendy bars, and little boutiques. It is noisy, but you're in the heart of the action here. Wander over to El Retiro Park, perfect for getting away from the city with a picnic in the park, and a stroll around the art in the 19th Century Crystal Palace. Chueca, famous for its active nightlife and wonderful vintage tapas bars, is a great place to experience Spanish nightlife. Most importantly, before hitting the bars, seek out a quaint restaurant for delightful tapas. This is all achievable due to the transport links that you can easily tour the entire city with.

From the open-plan living area to the breakfast bar, ideal for cooking up some morning delights. Light colours prevail with a splash of colour, adding elegance to the design and unique furnishings. The bedrooms are spacious and cheerful, thanks to large windows that let in plenty of natural light. Its high-quality finishes complement the rest of the floor's decorative style, creating a sense of absolute harmony and beauty.


Guilty Pleasure

Relax in El Retiro Park with its pretty boating lake and fountains (two to three minutes on foot) when you stay at this modern apartment in one of the most exclusive areas of Madrid. Prado Museum is the same walking distance if you fancy a spot of culture, while Paseo de Recoletos, with its impressive trees and sculptures, as well as historic cafes, is fifteen minutes on foot.

After all that exploring, whip up a fresh glass of orange juice with the juicer in the kitchen and have a rest on your private balcony. We love this space with its verdant topiaries and views over the district – it's perfect for an alfresco lunch or dinner. Inside, large windows allow light to flood in. This place has plenty of mod cons, such as electric closing windows and chromotherapy showers. We’d say this home is ideal for business professionals, a family or a group of friends. 



Fountains in Summer

When you see as many flats as we do, you learn very quickly to tell which homes have been done up for convenience, and which are a labour of love. Toquilla clearly falls into the latter category. It’s been designed as a whole, with thought and attention put into the schemes, as well as the materials. We particularly liked the concrete pillars and the glass walls, neither of which are especially common in Madrid. The only real complaint we have is the fake plants – They’re understandable for the convenience, but really, most places would be better off without anything.


Toquilla

This luxurious apartment is located in the heart of Madrid’s Salamanca district, surrounded by boutiques, restaurants, and cafes. El Retiro Park is less than five minutes away on foot, there are galleries nearby, and a Metro station is just along the road. Housed in a stately building in a classic Madridian style, the apartment is stylish and sophisticated. High ceilings and large windows make it a relaxing space to return to after seeing the sights of the busy city. 


Madrid Living

Blending timber frames with sleek, contemporary furnishings, this handsome apartment in Madrid’s lively La Latina neighbourhood is an ideal base for those looking to soak up the best of Madrilenian life.
 
We love how shades of natural brown sit alongside elegant neutral notes here, while ample natural light pours in through the French doors in the living room. Open these up to enjoy the breeze as you kick back on the sofa with a glass of Spanish red, or perch by the Juliet balcony with your evening tipple as you people-watch from your privileged position. 
 
The dining table beckons sociable evenings over homemade dinners when you’re not out sampling the local tapas hangouts, while the bedrooms offer a comfortable night’s sleep leaving you feeling ready and relaxed for another day of exploring. 
 
Speaking of sightseeing, you’ve got plenty to see and do within easy walking distance, not least of all your own neighbourhood’s maze of narrow lanes filled with tapas bars and cantinas. Elsewhere, Plaza Mayor is a ten-minute walk, the Royal Palace of Madrid is a fifteen-minute stroll, while the world-famous Museo Nacional del Prado is twenty minutes away on foot.

Exposed brick, funky wallpaper – although this apartment is small, it certainly doesn't lack character. Perfect for two friends or two couples sharing, this pocket-sized pad makes an ideal base for exploring Madrid's cultural hotspots. It's situated near the Triangle of the Art, within walking distance of countless museums, theatres, and performing arts centres. Easy access to Delicias metro stop and Atocha Station makes zipping to and from the centre a breeze – just be sure to pack earplugs, since you'll be right in the hustle and bustle here.

Don Julio

Malasaña is famous for being slightly outrageous, which is probably why Queen of the Castle is in it. A tour of this home reveals a glamorous hybrid design theme that balances modern baroque-inspired pieces with jungle and safari themes – dear lovers of minimalism, you might want to stay elsewhere. But if gold-coated flora and fauna with an occasional crown-cum-skull ensemble sound like heaven to you, then you'll find Queen of the Castle an absolute delight. Not to mention that you'll be within walking distance to Puerta del Sol and the vibrant neighbourhood of Chueca. 

Queen of the Castle

Dressed in earthy tones and with a rustic charm seeping from its walls, this beautiful penthouse is a welcome retreat amidst the hustle and bustle of Madrid. With light ushered in through the large windows, highlighting the exposed beams and comfortable furnishings, you’ll feel at home from the moment you set your suitcases down. We love the window seat nestled by the door to the terrace – perfect for snuggling down with a good book to while away the hours during some downtime in your apartment. 

The rooftop terrace will entice you out with ease. It’s just the spot to start or end the day –  enjoy a morning coffee as the city stirs into life below and the sun warms your skin or gather with friends of an evening, sharing a bottle of wine and tales from the day. Up here, hidden amongst the rooftops, you could almost forget you were in the heart of Madrid. With the distant sounds of the city below, you’ll soon be itching to get out and explore.
