This recently built home offers gorgeous views of the lush greenery and majestic mountains around you, and is designed so you can enjoy a full day of sunlight, from sunrise to sunset. The outdoor area is colourful and fun, with a private outdoor pool, a funky hammock area, and an impressively green lawn. The inside of the house is expertly designed too, with each bedroom benefitting from their own en-suite bathroom and their own terrace with seating. It's ideally located for exploring Alhaurín el Grande, as well as the beaches of the Costa del Sol, based just a short drive away. 

Wake up on sunny Spanish mornings and head out into your garden to read a book on the day bed as you watch the sunrise. As the heat rises, cool off with a dip in your private pool, before enjoying a scrummy Spanish breakfast of churros with an iced coffee. Head to the hammock area to enjoy some peace and quiet while you take in the views. Grill up some Spanish sausages on your barbecue and tuck in around your alfresco dining set. When the evening comes around, watch the sunset from your private terrace with a glass of Cava in hand, and toast to your lovely getaway.

Popsicles by the Pool

Found in a more rural location on the Costa del Sol, this home has looks, location, and a peaceful environment going for it. 

Experience it for yourself when you’re sitting out on the terrace overlooking the rolling hills of Andalucia. Savour a glass of red in the shade of the patio umbrella as you enjoy nibbles and watch the young ones splash in the crystalline, private pool. The outdoor kitchen means you hardly ever have to sever the connection to the outdoors, instead use the gas stove to fry up breakfast you can then enjoy alfresco.

With rustic charm and comfort in spades, this home offers space for everyone to relax in whichever way they see fit, and though it may be hard to leave behind, do venture out for breakfast in Coín, only minutes away by car. Golfers can take to the nearest course whilst nature lovers might find themselves exploring the limestone mountains and caves of the Sierra de las Nieves National Park.

Return home after a long day out to watch the sunset with a glass of wine before treating yourself to a long soak in the tub. The sprawling garden is the ideal place for stargazing as you enjoy drinks out on the lawn.

White Wine Spritzer

From the sculpted wood furnishings to the curated art and luxurious linens, every detail feels considered and intentional. And from the moment of arrival, you’ll want to pause and savour the welcoming presence of this setting. 

Inside, the open-plan living room opens up onto a spectacular terrace. From sunrise to sunset this is a dreamy spot to watch sky transform whilst sipping refreshing drinks. Follow the views down to the garden and you’ll find the heated swimming pool. With Balinese style sun loungers, day beds and a grassy bank (perfect for a sunrise yoga session) you’ll feel transported to an idyllic state of relaxation. And with the help of the Sonos sound system, you can be serenaded by the sweet sound of your favourite playlist.

Casa Paz 

Featuring a tasteful decor comprised of varying shades of brown and loads of natural fabrics and textures, this home feels warm, welcoming, and uniquely tactile. Step inside, and you'll feel instantly at home within its cosy interior, whilst simultaneously feeling at one within your surroundings and the Spanish sunshine streams in through large windows. 

After a great night's sleep in the beachy-cum-Bedouin style bedroom, make your way out into the contemporary kitchen for a welcome morning coffee at the breakfast bar, or looking out of the French doors in the comfortable living room, as you think about what today might look like. 

Take the just 50 metre stroll into the heart of the authentic Andalusian village of Alhaurín el Grande, the streets of which are lined with typical whitewashed buildings that house eateries and bars frequented by locals and tourists alike. Don't miss out on the chance to sample local Spanish tapas dishes, one of our favourites being Ensaladilla Rusa (a kind of Russian-inspired fish and potato salad). 

Should you fancy venturing further afield, you can always head down towards the coast and the popular resorts that line it, including Torremolinos and Mijas, just 30 minutes away by car for a day of sun, sand, sea (and maybe some Sangria). Or, for something a little more active, why not explore the gorgeous mountain scenery that surrounds this traditional Spanish village on foot or by bike? Golf enthusiasts need not travel too far to tee off, as the nearest course is just six kilometres away.

Life is like a Box of Chocolates

This modern apartment is a great fit for families and groups of friends exploring the Costa del Sol. It sits just a five-minute walk from Playa de Torreblanca, as well as the shops, restaurants and bars along the promenade. The large terrace is well furnished with lounge chairs, a dining area and a barbecue, making it the perfect spot for family gatherings. On top of that, you'll have shared access to the swimming pool and gym, plus on-site parking – we recommend a car for ease of getting around. 

A Rolling Stone

This remarkable home dates back to the late 19th century but a quick tour will quickly show you that there have been a number of changes made in the ensuing years. For starters, the large swimming pool is a relatively recent addition – and a welcome one, at that – as is the huge Jacuzzi in its own separate annexe. There's a contemporary sleekness to the kitchen and bathrooms in the main house, as well.

That being said, a certain sense of heritage has been expertly retained during the recent refurbishment and there's an undeniable character in the exposed stonework, wooden ceiling beams and the elegant staircase that takes you up to the bedrooms. The tall verandah complete with a barbecue, alfresco dining table and views of the Andalusian countryside through the archways is an impressive feature, too.

Although the surrounding area feels peaceful, there are a pair of towns –Alhaurin el Grande and Alhaurin de la Torre – that both lie about 5km from the home. Torremolinos's sandy beach is a 15km-journey, while there are plenty of golf courses and prime hiking terrain to be discovered nearby.

Farmyard Phantasia

Bathed in sunlight and boasting panoramic views, this villa is a dream come true. The vistas are at the forefront, no matter what you're up to – be it swimming in the pool, playing ping-pong on the games terrace, or waking up in the breezy bedrooms. The design is ultra-modern and simplistic, but we think it complements the surrounding scenery well. Movie fans will love the at-home cinema room on the lower level, while fitness buffs will make a beeline for the private gym. As for location, the charming white-washed town of Mijas is just 2 kilometres away and the sandy beaches in Fuengirola are a fifteen-minute drive.

Serene Horizons

Given everything this home has to offer, it’s hardly surprising that it ended up in the pages of Marie Claire back in 2019. You’ve got all the amenities you could wish for here, from a poolside bar to an outdoor Jacuzzi – not to mention, an open-plan living area complete with cosy fireplace for keeping warm when temperatures start to drop. Kick back and relax in the orange-hued interior or head outside for a spot of alfresco dining by the pool. Glass of sangria, anyone? 

We could easily spend all day here but if you fancy a change of pace, there’s plenty to keep you occupied nearby. Practise your swing at Lauro Golf Resort, stretch your legs with a ramble along one of the Sierra de Mijas hiking trails, or jump in the car and head into Malaga for a spot of sightseeing.
