The peaceful outdoor space is undoubtedly a highlight. On hot days – thanks to the Costa del Sol climate – you can cool off in the pool and dry off on one of the surrounding loungers, all whilst soaking up the impressive landscape vistas. Head to the shared tennis courts to admire the arched architecture – they’re worth visiting even if tennis isn’t your forte. As evening comes around, cook up a smoky tapas feast on the barbecue for your loved ones and make the most of the stunning scenery.

When you head inside, you won't be disappointed. The open layout makes the interior feel bright and expansive, while there's an eclectic array of original features dotted about the place that adds a good dose of authentic character. As well as looking the part, it's also really rather cosy – come evening time, why not treat yourself to a soak in the bath before snuggling up next to the fireplace with a glass of Rioja?

When it comes to seeing a little more of the local area, the golden sands of Playa de la Caleta de Vélez are easy to reach in the car, while you can head into the mountains for unforgettable nature walks. If you’re in the mood for a day trip, the centre of Malaga will take you under an hour to get to when you fancy a day packed full of museums and historic architecture.

It’s on a ten-acre estate up in the hills with views of the mountains and the Mediterranean Sea, which can be devoured from almost every angle. As soon as you arrive, you’re greeted by a magnificent view of the peak of Maroma from the leafy courtyard. 

You might spend your days swimming in the pool and soaking up the sunshine in the gardens, which are filled with almond trees, olive groves, and a vineyard. Or perhaps you’ll sit under the shade of a pergola to read, accompanied only by the soothing sound of the fountain trickling in the courtyard. To take your relaxation to the next level, you might book an on-site massage – it’s almost impossible to leave here without feeling entirely blissed out. 

Evenings could be passed in the outdoor dining area, cooking together in the covered summer kitchen and grilling up local delicacies on the barbecue. As the sun starts to set, you’ll see the sky shift into glorious pastel hues, before the stars emerge and create a new backdrop altogether.

This stunning Andalusian villa is the perfect getaway for a holiday with your loved ones. The interior of the home is very nicely designed, but it’s the exterior we’re most enthusiastic about. With an infinity pool, ping-pong table and several lovely terraces (including a rooftop one) we don’t blame you if you’d like to spend all your time here. If you want the best of both – the beach is a thirty-minute walk away and the beautiful cities of Málaga and Granada are roughly an hour’s drive down the road.

Sitting at 550m above sea level, this stunning mountain refuge offers an enviable bird's-eye view over soaring landscapes and verdant valleys. The peaks of the Sierra Tejeda command the vista to the east while staring southwards will lead your eye all the way to the azure waters of the Mediterranean Sea. 

Your hosts first discovered this hidden gem back in 2015. Enchanted by the setting, they spent months tracking down the home's original owners, followed by a couple of years creating this idyllic Ibiza-inspired escape. Thanks to their background in interior design, the inside is gorgeous, with terracotta-tiled floors, eye-catching artwork and enchanting trinkets lining the shelves. While it would've been easy to copy and paste similar designs throughout all five bedrooms, they've gone the extra mile to provide each one with a unique personality.

Outside has been created to embrace the natural beauty on your doorstep – whether you're stretched out on sun loungers beside the pool, tucking into homemade pizzas fresh from the outdoor oven, or laid up in a hammock with a good book – it's impossible not to switch off and feel any stress ebb away on the Andalusian breeze.

Perched just above the Andalusian coastline, this southeast-facing villa is the perfect base for a sun-kissed vacation in the south of Spain.

Take a look outside and it's not hard to imagine yourself by the saltwater pool with your favourite book in hand, or tending to the barbecue once the sun's gone down. It’s what we love most about this home and you can almost feel the waves washing a sense of calm over you. Distinctively Moorish in appearance, Frigiliana is home to a 17th century Archaeological Museum, the Santa Fiora botanical gardens and as well as narrow, winding, cobblestone streets full of small shops, tapas bars and restaurants. Why not sample some local seafood –Pescaito frito and molletes or pick up some supplies for a family picnic post wild swim in the Higueron river.

This apartment sits in a gated community at the heart of Axarquia. It’s in the first line from the beach, so you can admire sea views and stroll to the soft sand in no time. There are also plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. You’ll have access to the communal salt-water swimming pool, from which you can gaze out to sea as you float in the sunshine. There’s a communal gym, too, ideal for those keen to keep up their routine. We recommend bringing a car so you can drive twenty-five minutes to Malaga to see the sights.

Only a five-minute stroll to the sea – so close, you can just glimpse it from the balcony – this apartment's breezy, open-plan feel makes it a great base for exploring Rincón de la Victoria. Although this flat has a very sleek, contemporary design, it still has plenty of soul – we particularly love the traditional patterned kitchen tiles, vivid pops of colour on the cushy throw pillows and the bright, light-filled living space. Our favourite spot is the sun-kissed balcony. It's where you can start your day off with coffee while watching the neighbourhood wake up and end your evening with a glass of sangria as the tantalising sun goes down beyond the apartment block.

When you fancy exploring, the village has multiple attractions nearby, including golf and shopping, as well as a long sandy beach ideal for sprawling underneath clear blue skies. Hire bikes and go adventuring along the lively seafront with its array of bars and restaurants or, for a bit more buzz, make the twenty-five-minute drive to Málaga – we think it's perfect for a day trip.

With a heated plunge pool, sunny patio and a small balcony from which you can glimpse the sea, this breezy villa is the definition of coastal cool. Inside you'll find two lounges, a glossy kitchen and chic bedrooms that ooze laid-back luxe. Huge windows flood each room with light, creating a sleek, relaxing haven where you can kick back and relax in style. The small patio is perfect for soaking up the Spanish sunshine. After a quick dip in the crystal clear pool, take a breather on the lounge chairs under the shady umbrella. Nerja is a lively town on the Costa del Sol, yet it retains a lot of charm despite the buzzing atmosphere. There's a market held every Tuesday, plus a myriad of delicious eateries serving up classic Spanish cuisine. The gorgeous Balcón de Europa is a can't-miss – lined with swaying palm trees and built on the foundations of an old fort, the panoramic views from this lookout are absolutely incredible. With boutiques, bars and beaches aplenty, there'll never be a dull day in paradise.

The Andalucian hills unfurl before you like a map, and each element of this home has been designed to make the most of that stunning panorama. And with a communal pool and private terrace back at home, there are plenty of spots to soak up the endless sunshine. Speaking of home, we love how sleek and bright this apartment is. Rattan furniture, woven rugs and leafy plants add a bit of bohemian flair, but all the mod-cons are accounted for, too – from the rain shower in the master and a glossy kitchen stocked with crockery to Netflix on the flatscreen. The whole flat revolves around the gorgeous terrace and its panoramic views of the Sierra Tejeda (forty minutes by car if you're in the mood for a hike). In the evenings, sip Spanish vino as the sun goes down and feast under the stars at the alfresco dining area. Trust us — you won't find a better spot to watch the night roll in.

Situated in the Costa del Sol countryside, a short drive from the heart of Nerja, this easy-going villa is a relaxing escape for families or friends alike. In the picturesque coastal town of Nerja, this contemporary villa is tucked away on a cul-de-sac. Featuring a wrap-around balcony and private garden, there are plenty of cosy corners from which to enjoy the sunshine, our favourite being the private pool. We love that you don’t need a car here, as the centre of Nerja is just a fifteen-minute walk away. A stroll in the opposite direction will take you to Playa de Burriana, a long stretch of sandy beach known as the area’s top spot for swimming. You'll also find watersports and beach volleyball here if you're looking for ways to keep the kids entertained.


The Palms

This sunny holiday home is in a resort in the Capistrano area of Nerja. You’ll have access to the communal outdoor swimming pool, in addition to having your own private terrace. The stunning vistas of the Mediterranean are what make this home so special, as they can be admired from outside, from the living room, and from the main bedroom – is there anything better than waking up to sea views? You’ll only be 2 kilometres from the beach, so you can easily add sandcastle building to the holiday itinerary. 

Noon in Nerja

The views alone make this Nerja home a great choice. There are several terraces and balconies, which makes admiring the sea and countryside views all the easier – and means that there’s plenty of space for a big group of friends. The decor inside isn’t the most interesting – it’s the outside space that really shines, with a private pool, barbecue and those glorious views. The multi-level layout won’t be suitable for everyone, and will definitely keep parents of youngsters on their toes.

On the east coast of the famous Costa del Sol, facing the magnificent Mediterranean Sea, this penthouse apartment is perfectly placed for exploring some of the area's best beaches. 

Enjoying a lofty position over the ocean and mountains, the jewel of this home is the terrace. If you aren't a morning person, you're about to become one – stepping out onto the balcony to the sprawling mountain scenery will have you ready to take on the day. Grab a cup of coffee and take a seat on the outdoor sofa, or head up to the roof deck to take a refreshing dip in the shared pool. 

If you're a bit of a sun worshipper, you'll love the proximity this home affords to some of the most beautiful beaches on the Costa del Sol. Head to Burriana beach for white sands, water sports and beach bars. If you fancy something a little more secluded, Maro beach can be found just outside of Nerja – spend the day splashing in hidden waterfalls, and snorkelling around underwater caves. 


After a day of beach hopping, there's nothing better than coming home to cook a meal together in the fully-equipped kitchen. Take a seat at the table outside, open a bottle of wine and make plans for tomorrow as the sun sets over the mountains.

There are two terraces – our favourite is the rooftop one reached via a spiral staircase, which has plenty of room for entertaining. More outdoor space is available, but it’s shared – you can lounge by the pool or go for a refreshing dip. There’s also a communal gym to maintain your fitness regime while away. Inside the apartment itself, there are more Mediterranean Sea vistas to enjoy, and there’s a lovely outlook from both bedrooms. Out and about, explore the beaches or charming towns of Nerja and Torrox. We’d recommend hiring a car to make the most of your stay.

Serene Sapphire Sea

With unobstructed Alboran Sea views from the terrace, the living space and the bedrooms, this apartment is ideal for those seeking a restful holiday on the Costa del Sol. When you want to take a break from the heat, there are two communal swimming pools on the premises. Having a car is essential here, especially if you intend to explore. Fortunately, Calaceite Beach, supermarkets and the towns of Torrox Costa and Nerja are within easy driving distance.

Spend lazy days moseying between the pool and the sun beds, picking up a glass of something cold along the way. Take a break from the sun under the pergola when you need to cool off, or relax in the swinging chair with a good book. 

For a faster pace, get some rallies going on the lavish tennis court, which overlooks the valleys around Malaga. A cute dining table rests under another pergola for when you're feeling peckish – satisfy any hunger with plates of paella or grill some chorizo on the BBQ.

Whichever style of dinner you choose, complement it with a glass of sangria and watch the orange tones of sunset descend beneath the rolling hills.

Dazzling coastal vistas take all the glory at this newly-built and oh-so-intimate apartment complex perched in the hills above Torrox Costa and Nerja and just 1.2 kilometres from the beach. Expertly designed to max out its showstopping setting from angles, spending lazy days chasing the sun on the two expansive, private terraces wrapping around this home. Time to beat the heat? Then the shared, stylish pool for cooling dips is just the ticket, or head back to the privacy of your apartment to stretch out with a good book and glass of something crisp (your host can organise champagne on ice to be delivered). With its cool Scandi vibes and restful neutral interiors, you can’t help but feel relaxed inside this home. And with both bedrooms commanding the same glorious sea vistas, there’s no need to tussle for the best room here.

When the sea finally lures you in, pack up a beach bag and blaze a trail down to the beaches of Nerja or Torrox Costa (both just a short drive away) – there’s a sandy cove begging you to lay down a beach towel. And should thoughts turn to tasty plates of espetos and Cabrito a la nerjena, the tapas bars and authentic restaurants of Nerja’s chic Old Town won’t disappoint. Just be sure to make it home for dusk – the view of the setting sun is unmissable.

Sunshine on the Horizon

High in the Andalusian hills, this home boasts fantastic views across the mountains. Access is via a dirt road, so a car is a must, but the secluded area and rural scenery make the steep, winding trek worth it. The one downside of this location is the lack of a nearby beach – you'd have to drive about 45 kilometres to reach the coast – but a private pool will do the job when you fancy a dip. The design is a bit more rustic than we'd like, but it's roomy inside and out. That said, as there are just two bathrooms between all ten guests and only room for six around the dining tables, we suggest a lower occupancy here.
