Whether you're looking for days out on the beach or some retail therapy, you're in the right place. This home places you just a short drive from the small and sandy Playa Calaceite, which is perfect for catching some sun or heading out in the water for some snorkelling. Live like a local during your stay in Torrox – head to the weekly market for a unique souvenir and dine at wonderful local restaurants. In the evening, the balcony of this home is the perfect spot to gather with drinks and good conversation as the sun sets.

This sunny holiday home is in a resort in the Capistrano area of Nerja. You’ll have access to the communal outdoor swimming pool, in addition to having your own private terrace. The stunning vistas of the Mediterranean are what make this home so special, as they can be admired from outside, from the living room, and from the main bedroom – is there anything better than waking up to sea views? You’ll only be 2 kilometres from the beach, so you can easily add sandcastle building to the holiday itinerary. 

Noon in Nerja

With a heated plunge pool, sunny patio and a small balcony from which you can glimpse the sea, this breezy villa is the definition of coastal cool. Inside you'll find two lounges, a glossy kitchen and chic bedrooms that ooze laid-back luxe. Huge windows flood each room with light, creating a sleek, relaxing haven where you can kick back and relax in style. The small patio is perfect for soaking up the Spanish sunshine. After a quick dip in the crystal clear pool, take a breather on the lounge chairs under the shady umbrella. Nibble on tapas when you grow peckish, then gather on the outdoor sofas with your tipple of choice and watch the sunset – pretty dreamy, if you ask us.

When you're in the mood for a bit more action, walk ten minutes to Playa de Burriana and sprawl out in the sand. Nerja is a lively town on the Costa del Sol, yet it retains a lot of charm despite the buzzing atmosphere. There's a market held every Tuesday, plus a myriad of delicious eateries serving up classic Spanish cuisine. The gorgeous Balcón de Europa is a can't-miss – lined with swaying palm trees and built on the foundations of an old fort, the panoramic views from this lookout are absolutely incredible. With boutiques, bars and beaches aplenty, there'll never be a dull day in paradise.

Effervescent

If you're seeking a rural getaway to southern Spain then you can't go wrong with this traditional finca, surrounded by the Sierras de Almijara and Tejeda Mountains. And the sands of Playa del Torrox within driving distance, there’s everything you could need for a spectacular reset. 

You'll be transported in time here – this bucolic home has a host of original features, including rustic furnishings and objects, traditional round windows with a statement wheel window, as well as grand, high ceilings complete with wooden beams – it’s truly enchanting. You’re gifted with the Costa del Sol weather here however, if the weather happens to take a turn, you can cosy up in the living room by the crackling fire with a glass of Rioja. On sunny days, you'll want to make use of the outside space, which boasts impressive views of the herbaceous hills and the Mediterranean Sea. There are plenty of charming villages to visit, including Frigiliana, with its mosaiced streets and 16th-century buildings. Adventurous types can hit the hiking trails to explore the magnificent scenery – the nearby Alhama Natural Park is breathtaking. And, if you fancy a day trip, you can drive to the bustling coastal city of Malaga in roughly an hour for a day at the beach.

Hillside Finca

With its Gaudi-inspired outdoor fireplace, Art Deco furniture and locally sourced art, this villa is a quirky yet beautiful place to stay in Andalucia. If you fancy venturing a little further afield, why not visit the Frigiliana, consistently voted one of the most beautiful villages in Spain. Distinctively Moorish in appearance, Frigiliana is home to a 17th century Archaeological Museum, the Santa Fiora botanical gardens and as well as narrow, winding, cobblestone streets full of small shops, tapas bars and restaurants. Why not sample some local seafood –Pescaito frito and molletes or pick up some supplies for a family picnic post wild swim in the Higueron river.

The villa takes inspiration from classic hunting lodges and Spanish fincas – think terracotta tiles and armchairs upholstered with cowhide. Make a splash in the glittering swimming pool, then dry off on the day bed with your holiday read. Then, come evening, fire up the outdoor oven and prepare a delicious alfresco feast to share with your guests – don't forget a bottle of Rioja.

From here you can lace up your hiking boots or hop on your bike to explore the Sierra de Tejeda, the nearby mountain range. There are several rural villages to discover too – pretty Canillas de Aceituno is roughly fifteen minutes away by car. And, if you fancy a day by the beach, you can drive down to the sandy shorelines of the Costa Del Sol in around forty minutes. 

Big Game

Tucked into the hillside, gazing lovingly out over Frigiliana, this charming villa is a welcoming, classical Spanish retreat. Inside, the home is bathed in natural light courtesy of the generous arched windows – which we love, by the way, with the shape and floral decoration adding so much character to the living area. White walls, dark wooden beams and mosaic tiles, so befitting of the local area, run through the remainder of the inside space, giving the home a personality of its own. Picture cosy evenings spent here, the fire crackling and casting an amber glow around the room as you get stuck into a good book, tucked up on the comfortable leather sofa. 

Outdoors, this home really sparks into life. The split-level terraces mean you have a selection of places to take in the beautiful view across Frigiliana as far as the beaches of Nerja. Lazy days relaxing on a lounger with the sun’s rays warming your skin as you soak up those vistas will never get old. If the heat becomes a little stifling, cool off in your private pool before lighting the barbecue and settling down to an alfresco meal with loved ones. With an abundance of flowers peppered around the terraces leaving their delicate floral scent hanging in the breeze and the company of those dearest to you, you’ll feel so completely at home, you may never want to leave.

This stunning Andalusian villa is the perfect getaway for a holiday with your loved ones. The interior of the home is very nicely designed, but it’s the exterior we’re most enthusiastic about. With an infinity pool, ping-pong table and several lovely terraces (including a rooftop one) we don’t blame you if you’d like to spend all your time here. If you want the best of both – the beach is a thirty-minute walk away and the beautiful cities of Málaga and Granada are roughly an hour’s drive down the road.
