And from the moment of arrival, you’ll want to pause and savour its captivating presence. From the sweeping terrace to the rustic charm of the interior, every detail inspires a wonderful sense of ease and relaxation. 

Bathed in natural light, the sun-dappled rooms provide a cosy space to share quality time together. And whether you’re preparing a light bite in the kitchen or staying cool in the air-conditioned bedrooms, the laid-back ambience of this home is refreshing.

Inside, there’s plenty of space for you and your guests – with traditional beamed ceilings and a flowing open-plan layout – this rustic home is equally adept for both socialising and private moments. Wake up to the sprawling sea vistas from your balcony, where you can enjoy your morning coffee. Wander across the Cotto tiles to the rustic living space where you can enjoy a couple of board games or turn pages of your holiday read. Open up the doors and head out onto the patio where a shaded dining room awaits – we think you’ll love grilling up an array of ingredients for an alfresco tapas feast. Stretch out by the shimmering plunge pool – the ideal way to unwind any time of day or night, a glass of sangria in hand. 

Just a short drive away from the sands of Torrox, you'll be able to make the most of the pristine beaches and quaint seaside tavernas. When it's time to explore the great outdoors, make the drive to Nerja, where you will find spectacular hiking trails and birdwatching tracks up in the Sierra de Almijara mountains.

Sometimes homes have that wow factor – the feeling of knowing you're somewhere special that you won't forget in a hurry. This is one of those homes. Situated high up in the breathtaking landscape of Sierras de Tejeda and Almijara, this home sits proudly at its own vantage point. You could be lounging next to the swimming pool with a glass of freshly-made sangria or serving up a bowl of paella on the terrace while dining alfresco until late, either way, you'll be treated to phenomenal views of blue sky touching blue sea. Waking up early to see the golden haze of the sky contrasting the rocky mountain peaks surrounding the home is a real sight to behold. 

The inside of the home is as traditional as it comes. We love the ceiling beams and dark wood furniture giving this home an authentic Meditteranean feel. While your days will likely be spent outside in the sun, your evenings will be just as enjoyable gathering around the fireplace in the lounge. Despite being located high up the mountains, this home is still well connected to life around. The nearest village, Cómpeta, is 4.2km away and has all the essential supplies you need, along with opportunities for meals out. We're sure you'll probably be rushing back to this special home afterwards though.

Gazing at Blue Horizons

We never underestimate the power of a killer view. Which is precisely why this blissfully secluded Finca perched high in the valley above the coast of Nerja caught our eye.

Perfectly designed for alfresco living, the vast south-facing terrace is the spot to drink up those sea and mountain vistas (preferably with a glass of something chilled in hand). As is that cool, blue pool with an outdoor shower to beat the heat. And just imagine this place at sunset as you fire up the barbecue – that’s a memory made right there.

Inside, while the interiors aren’t winning any design gongs soon, everywhere feels beautifully cared for and charming. Cool, terracotta floors and exposed stonework bring the character, while the bedrooms feel blissfully quiet with no traffic noise to disturb your beauty sleep here.

If you can tear yourself away from the panoramic scenes outside, you’ll find you’re closer to the action than you think. The nearest village, Frigiliana (a ten-minute drive), is an afternoon well spent with its tapas bars tucked away in the Moorish old quarter. Nerja, with its ten miles of sandy shores, is a twenty-minute drive for something a little buzzier. Or don your hiking boots or hop on your mountain bikes to explore the verdant pine forests of the Sierra Almijara nature reserve and the lost village of Acebucha – trails start close to your door.

Cloud Forest

Nestled into the hillside, this traditional Spanish home promises a tranquil retreat. Inside, exposed wooden beams, a feature fireplace and classic tiles add character to this villa, while archways lead you from one room to the next. The kitchen may be small, but it provides everything you need to test your culinary skills – rustle up a tasty snack and head out onto the terrace to enjoy your meal in the great outdoors. The views from this villa are something you’ll never tire of.

With the sun beating down, move to one of the poolside loungers, magazine in one hand and a chilled glass of white in the other and embrace the holiday spirit. With the tranquillity of your surroundings, you’ll feel utterly relaxed. If you’re keen to get out into the local area to explore, take to the picture-perfect streets of Frigiliana where, come dinner, you can seek out a spot of paella, washed down with some Sangria for the ultimate Spanish treat.

Hillside Gem

Set on a 5000 square footage plot of land atop a hilltop, this home is the perfect solution if you’re looking for a slice of seclusion without compromising on location entirely. Still within easy access to the coast and the gorgeous, golden beaches of the Costa del Sol, you can opt for a day at the beach, explore the region, or head to the golf course – at the end of a thirty minute trip – to unwind with a round of golf. 

Of course, if you’d like to stay right here, we certainly won’t be judging – especially not with the spectacular views from the terrace. Secure your spot on one of the sunloungers and camp out here all day with a book, glass of wine, and snacks.

Make use of the stone barbecue as you grill a lunch to enjoy at the vibrant blue dining table. After an alfresco meal and quick nap, make sure you watch sunset from the terrace and spend relaxed evenings playing board games in front of the fire in the living space.  

House on a Hill

If you're seeking a rural getaway to southern Spain then you can't go wrong with this traditional finca, surrounded by the Sierras de Almijara and Tejeda Mountains. And the sands of Playa del Torrox within driving distance, there’s everything you could need for a spectacular reset. 

You'll be transported in time here – this bucolic home has a host of original features, including rustic furnishings and objects, traditional round windows with a statement wheel window, as well as grand, high ceilings complete with wooden beams – it’s truly enchanting. You’re gifted with the Costa del Sol weather here however, if the weather happens to take a turn, you can cosy up in the living room by the crackling fire with a glass of Rioja. On sunny days, you'll want to make use of the outside space, which boasts impressive views of the herbaceous hills and the Mediterranean Sea. Plunge into the sparkling pool, then dry off on a lounger as you soak up the rays. When the golden hour strikes, you can enjoy a grilled Andalusian feast alfresco with a cold glass of sangria in hand. 

There are plenty of charming villages to visit, including Frigiliana, with its mosaiced streets and 16th-century buildings. Adventurous types can hit the hiking trails to explore the magnificent scenery – the nearby Alhama Natural Park is breathtaking. And, if you fancy a day trip, you can drive to the bustling coastal city of Malaga in roughly an hour for a day at the beach.

Hillside Finca

Country getaway or beach break? This Andalusian villa is so kind as to give you the benefits of both. Not only does it sit in a secluded location surrounded by verdant hillsides, but the golden sands of Torrox beach are only just over a quarter of an hour away by car.

That being said, you might not even want to head over to the seaside when you take into consideration the incredible outdoor space at your disposal at the address. Scorching hot afternoons can be spent jumping in and out of the home's swimming pool, which looks out to peaceful views of the locale. Add into the mix plenty of loungers, a Balinese bed and a verandah in case you're in need of a little shade, and it's like you have your very own beach club to yourselves.

Although it's very much an address that prioritises the alfresco way of life, the interior won't disappoint when you finally head indoors for the night.  The design manages to combine rustic elements typical of the region, like exposed stonework and terracotta tiling underfoot, with more contemporary finishes in the stylish living room and kitchen.

Aside from the aforementioned stretch of coastline, there are plenty of distractions that lie nearby. The Sierras of Tejeda, Almijara and Alhama Natural Park starts ten minutes' drive from the home and contains a wealth of walking routes and scenic points. You can also get to the city of Malaga in around forty-five minutes, which is ideal for a day trip spent hopping around galleries, shops and cafes.



Goddess of the Sun

Travel up the mountain path towards this home and the scene is instantly set for a secluded, tranquil retreat. This quintessentially Spanish casa is situated in the rolling hills of Cómpeta, with a rustic feel that just adds to its charm. In this little piece of paradise, you’re surrounded by green countryside and stunning flowers that provide a pop of colour to the landscape. With such breathtaking views, it’s impossible not to feel relaxed from the moment you set foot on the property. 

Just imagine yourself lying back on the sun lounger, feeling the Andalusian sun warming your skin, and listening to the quiet of nature, or the sizzle of dinner cooking on the stone barbecue. This cosy spot is nothing short of idyllic, perfect for a group of friends or family.

Off The Beaten Path

Surrounded by a mango plantation and picturesque white houses, this villa provides a relaxing retreat in Cómpeta. The lawned garden is our favourite part of the home. Which provides the perfect spot to soak up the sun, thanks to a private pool, hammocks and barbecue area. In the porch area you’ll find a ping pong table, pool table and foosball, which will no doubt prove a hit with the little ones or teenagers of the family. There’s also a covered Jacuzzi area where you can unwind after a day of exploring the fascinating city – we’d highly recommend a car to make the most of this beautiful part of Andalusia. 

A Mountain's Tale

Surrounded by olive and almond trees with the sea breeze dancing through the air, this is the kind of home that transports you to the heart of Mediterranean living. 

Set within the rugged landscape of the Sierras de Tejeda and Almijara, you’ll find a traditional Spanish home brimming with character. From the honey-coloured interior to the wooden beams, stone arches and rustic styling, every detail inspires a wonderful sense of welcome. 

Outside, the porch opens up to mesmerising views across the horizon. Featuring a private swimming pool and barbecue area, this is the perfect setting for rejuvenating dips and long lazy lunches in the shade.
