Just look at the beautiful sea views from this home’s shared rooftop pool (open from the 1st of May until the 1st of October). There’s a private wraparound terrace at this apartment, too – perfect for watching the sunrise over the Mediterranean. There are only four sunloungers, so you may need to pop your towel on one to claim it, but there's a sofa and dining area as well. We love that the bedrooms open out onto the balcony too. This development is within walking distance of San Pedro de Alcántara with its restaurants, bars and beaches, while glitzy Marbella is around a twenty-minute drive away.

Spanish Seasons

This home is a sun-kissed sanctuary with beautiful views across Atalaya Golf course and the sea – on a clear day you'll see the coast of Africa. Outside, you can experience pure relaxation while lounging by the pool – which can also be heated for an additional fee. There are also four terraces, a cinema room and a home gym here, ensuring plenty of entertainment options for the whole group. Your host can arrange child-friendly amenities and one of the rooms is adapted for guests with reduced mobility, making this a great option for a family gathering. You will need a car to get around the area, but it’s just a short drive to the nearest golf courses while Marbella and Puerto Banús are about ten minutes by car.

The Gold Horizon

With stunning views across the hills of Benahavís, this home will make you want to settle in and stay. Days here can be spent relaxing by the private pool and admiring the natural beauty from the terrace. Inside, the rooms are simple and family-friendly with all the essentials you could need to relax and unwind. You will need a car to get around here, but it’s just a short (slightly windy) drive to the nearest restaurants, shops and the beach.

Aiming for a holiday hole-in-one? This second-floor apartment sits on a golf resort right outside of Marbella. We love how the south-facing terrace boasts a peaceful view of the greens. Plus, groups of four will have plenty of space indoors. This home's style is a bit dated, but there's a shared on-site pool and playground for little ones. While the Guadalmina neighbourhood puts shops and restaurants a stone's throw away, we recommend driving ten minutes to the famous Golden Mile.

You needn't go far to get your fix of sunshine, however. Open up the sparkling living area’s dual aspect doors and step out onto the large south-west facing terrace decked out in plenty of outdoor seating for alfresco meals and celebratory sundowners alike. 
 
With three comfortable, stylish bedrooms to wake up in as well as luxurious bathrooms – one of which has a stunning rainfall shower – you’ve got everything you need for a relaxing time. 
 
When you’re not chilling out at home or practising your swing on the golf course, head to Playa Guadalmina (a nine-minute drive) for a day by the sea or visit bustling Marbella, a twenty-minute drive away.

This light-filled apartment is contemporary to a tee. It's a squeeze for all six guests since two will sleep on the sofa bed, but there's a lot to like despite the smaller size. The private plunge pool is the perfect antidote to Costa del Sol's endless rays, and the terrace is a prime spot for socializing and admiring the distant Mediterranean Sea views. You'll have a slew of resort amenities to take advantage of – we're talking communal swimming pools, on-site restaurants, a fitness centre, and a sauna and steam room. And the location isn't bad, either. Playa Faro de Calaburras is 650 metres away, while just a little further lies Fuengirola (2 kilometres) and Marbella (24 kilometres).

Sleek Sapphire

This penthouse should do nicely if you're looking for a Marbella hillside home with va-va-voom. The mountain and sea vistas from the mammoth rooftop terrace are a knockout – as are the panoramas from the shared swimming pool set in the well-tended communal grounds below. If you fancy brushing up on your swing, take your pick from the numerous exclusive golf courses surrounding the home. You'll need a car for beach days along Marbella's coast and dinners out in glitzy Puerto Banus – all just a short drive away.

Paradise Vista

This recently refurbished Andalucian villa has all the ingredients you could want for a relaxing break in the Spanish sunshine. We can't really start with anything other than the swimming pool that takes up most of the garden, which is overlooked by palm trees and surrounded by loungers.

Around the home itself, you'll find a terrace that stretches around the property with a lounge, alfresco dining area and a pretty impressive outdoor kitchen set-up. It's fair to say that you could spend the bulk of your time outside, but that would be being the modern interior a disservice. There are plenty of standout features behind the front door, from the sleek wooden kitchen and spa-standard bathrooms to the crocodile-shaped bench in one of the bedrooms.

And the location's not half bad, either. You can be standing on the golden sands of Playa del Saladillo in around twenty minutes on foot or strolling around the designer boutiques of Puerto Banús in just under the same amount of time in the car.

Then blaze a trail to the sandy shores of Playa Faro de Calaburras, with a charming beach restaurant to keep the drinks flowing – it's just 650 metres from your door, and the resort's courtesy train will have you there in no time. Just be sure to make it home before the sun sets – the views from your terrace are out-of-this-world.
