While the kitchenette isn’t huge – especially when the home’s at full occupancy with guests three and floor sleeping on the sofa bed – there’s a choice of on-site restaurants, so this needn’t be a deal-breaker. And when you’re ready to explore, you’ll find a waterpark, a zoo, and the historic coastal town of Fuengirola just a short drive away.

It may be the communal areas that make this coastal apartment stand out, but that doesn't make it any less appealing. Fitness buffs will appreciate the on-site gym, and the whole group will enjoy the shared swimming pool. You'll also have your own terrace to take advantage of – perfect for dining alfresco while admiring the sea and mountain views. The apartment itself is modern but lacks some interest. That said, it'll do nicely as a Costa del Sol base – top-class golf courses, sandy beaches, and the picturesque village of Mijas are all within easy reach.

With an abundance of on-site amenities including communal swimming pools, a tennis court, a children’s playground and resort restaurants, it’ll be hard to tear yourself away from this coastal home. That said, what caught our eye was the private balcony – the perfect place for sipping sangria as you drink in the sea views. Two guests will sleep on the sofa bed but otherwise, we think it works well for a family – particularly with Fuengirola Zoo and the Mijas Aquapark nearby. Fancy a lazy day splashing around in the sea instead? Playa Rocas del Cura is a leisurely five-minute stroll away.

Costa Sunshine

Just a short stroll from the sandy shores of Playa Rocas del Cura, if splashing in the sea is on your holiday wishlist, this could be the home for you. Alfresco meals are a must, dining out on the private balcony as you drink in the sea views. And if the nearby aquapark, zoo, and golf courses don’t tempt you away from home, you’ll find plenty of entertainment on-site. In the heart of Fuengirola's Old Town, this apartment is just 100m from the sandy 8km-long beach. It's ideal for families with a twin single bedroom, double sofa bed, and plenty of living space to sprawl out and relax. Our favourite spot is out on the private patio, with complete privacy and comfy furniture. While the kitchen is very small, you'll find plenty of Spanish restaurants and tapas bars on your doorstep. The designs aren’t so inspiring, but it's modern and practical, with everything you need for a relaxing coastal getaway.

It's fair to say that you're never far from a golf course on the Costa del Sol, but you can't get much closer than at this villa that overlooks fairways and bunkers. While it's good news for those obsessed with the sport, the even better news is that the home has plenty more to offer those not so keen.

The first of these that's likely to grab your attention is the infinity swimming pool that sits in the middle of the outdoor space, but there's also a neighbouring Jacuzzi once you've finished with paddling, plus a terrace with a table and barbecue ready for alfresco dinners that stretch long into the evening.

Even if the villa didn't have these wonderful outdoor amenities, we'd still be suitably impressed by it thanks to its contemporary interior. Huge windows and glass doors flood the living quarters with natural light, and there's a chic coherence to all of the furnishings and finishes, especially the minimalist kitchen and sleek bathrooms. Plus, there's also a games room with a billiards table and a bar that makes for a great place to gather the whole group together.

When it comes to days out, the question is where to begin? The beaches of Fuengirola and La Cala de Mijas can be reached in ten minutes by car, while the towns of Marbella and Puerto Banus are only a short drive away, too. And of course, you've always got the golf course on your doorstep, as well.

Positioned in Cabopino, between Spanish holiday resort towns Marbella and Fuengirola, the villa is ideally located with easy access to the Costa del Sol's luxury golf courses, beaches, shopping and nightlife. And that's before we've even got started on the villa itself. 

Boasting spectacular south-facing views of the Mediterranean sea, enjoy the serene scapes come night or daytime. Balancing indoor and outdoor living couldn't be easier here as bi-fold doors bring the outside in and extend the living area out onto the patio. So relax by the pool on the day beds or perch with a book in the shade on one of the plush sofas. 

We love the clean lines and blue and white colour scheme seen throughout the villa, which offers a soothing space to relax in style. Underfloor heating carried across the main rooms during the slightly chillier months will keep your toes warm. Meanwhile, premium quality entertainment features, including Sonos speakers, Apple TV, and the decked-out kitchen, will keep you occupied even if the sun isn't shining outside. 
There's also an a second lounge hang-out area in the basement of the home, which could be used as a gaming room or extra living space for the children. 

Since you'll be just a fifteen-minute drive away from Marbella and Fuengirola, there's plenty to see and do beyond the villa too. You'll also be within an easy ten minutes walking distance of Cabopino's protected dunes and marina, ideal for a stroll or dining out at one of the many seafront restaurants. Not to mention Luna Beach, which is only 500 metres away and an idyllic spot for watching the sunset over drinks and live music at the local beach restaurant and cocktail bar.
