Set in an intimate, low-rise holiday complex bringing all the hacienda vibes, discover palm-strewn gardens and a suite of glistening communal pools to while away your days in the shared grounds.

Back at the apartment, guests rave about the immaculate interiors, and it’s easy to see why. Crisp, contemporary and flooded with natural daylight, this place is a joy to return home to. And the icing on the cake? That elegant southeast-facing private terrace to soak up the magic of the Mediterranean Sea. It’s a dreamy spot to savour morning coffees, evening sundowners and everything else in between.

When you’re ready to stretch your legs, the palm-lined sandy shores of Benalmádena are within walking distance (1.7 kilometres, to be precise) for all the sun-worshipping. Then take a wander down to the sparkling Puerto Marina for a gawp at the mega-yachts bobbing in the bay, followed by sunset cocktails at one of its chichi bars. We don’t know about you, but it sounds like heaven to us.

Sea Escape

Sitting in the countryside between Málaga and Marbella, this typically Andalusian home is just the spot for a peaceful getaway during which you'll spend as many hours as possible in the great outdoors.

Part of the alfresco appeal is the dramatic landscape of hillsides and clouds rolling across the sky that greets you as you step out the back door. It makes for a lovely backdrop against which to paddle in the swimming pool, soak up the sunshine on one of the loungers or read on the shady pergola. Once nighttime starts to descend, you can fire up the barbecue and dine on the covered terrace.

Back inside, there are a fair few period features to be spotted, from the exposed brick fireplace in the corner of the living room to the vaulted wooden ceiling beams. However, these are matched with plenty of contemporary flourishes, too – the large windows bring in copious amounts of natural light, for example, while the sleek kitchen and bathrooms feel anything but dated.

When you're in need of shops and restaurants, the centre of Villafranco de Guadalhorce is only 2km away and Alhaurin el Grande is 7km away, too. A little further afield, there are sandy beaches at Fuengirola and Torremolinos, which are both around 30km away, too.


Let Me Set the Scene

This light-filled apartment situated close to Fuengirola's Castillo Sohail is a lovely place to base yourself and enjoy a relaxing Costa del Sol holiday. Just moments away from the beach, you’ll be able to gaze out into the sea from the privacy of your own terrace. 

The pad will greet you with a large living room, with a unique semi-circular terrace letting in streams of natural light. Kick back and relax on the comfy sofa with some Spanish wine and in the company of your loved ones. The well-equipped kitchen will inspire you to rustle up a delicious feast, inspired by the fresh produce and rich culinary tradition of the area. 

Later, head down to the communal pool for a refreshing swim in its glistening waters. A night of restful sleep awaits in the two comfy bedrooms – in the morning, welcome a new day with a cup of freshly brewed coffee and plan your adventures. Fuengirola has plenty to offer, from fantastic restaurants and shops to exciting cultural events, there's something for everyone here. 

Sun Castles 

This peaceful penthouse apartment is ready to welcome you on a happy holiday to beautiful Benalmádena. Modern and fresh, it's located just a stone's throw from the wonderful beach, where you'll find sunbeds to rent and a crystal-clear sea that's ideal for swimming and surfing. You'll get a great view of the sea from inside the apartment, with floor-to-ceiling windows that let the outside in. You can sit by the window at the dining set, and tuck into tasty tapas dishes while you admire the ocean views.

Head outside and you'll find your own private terrace with some lovely outdoor seating, that gives you a full view of the beach as well as the surrounding town – the perfect place for sipping on cocktails at sunset. Head downstairs and take a dip in one of the three communal outdoor pools to cool off from the Spanish sunshine – and you can let kids splash around in the shared children's pool.

Blue Crystal

Perfectly nestled near to the beautiful village of Mijas Pueblo, whichever way you look at it, this family–friendly villa is completely breathtaking. Spacious, contemporary and cosy in equal measure, you can tell that everything – right down to those teeny weeny final touches – has been carefully considered. The result? A spectacular pad steeped in style and grandeur. Cards fully on the table, we’ve fallen head over heels in love with this home, and we’d bet our bottom dollar that you’ll be smitten, too.

With each and every nook, cranny and corner just as awe–inspiring as the next, it’s almost impossible to know where to begin with this home! However, since the soaring temperatures of the scorching Spanish sun are sure to pull you in its direction before long, the crystalline waters of the private pool seem like the perfect place to start.

Surrounded by sleek bamboo furnishings and exotic vegetation, the glass walls of the balcony sketch the most sensational backdrop for a swim, meanwhile the cushioned sun loungers serve up the ideal spot to recline after an invigorating dip. Set over multiple tiers with a selection of separate balconies, the entire exterior of this home is nothing short of magnificent. We’re talking panoramic vistas of the luscious mountainscape, a luxury fire pit, a large shaded pergola with enough space for everyone to relax – you name it, this villa has got it. And as we saunter inside, we only become more doe–eyed.

Flaunting a curation of natural textures and touches, the interior here is light, bright and fabulous. Sheer curtains canopy the windows and doors, letting the sunlight cascade its way from room to room, while the sleek floor tiles feel effortlessly cooling underfoot. Begin each morning by whipping up a creamy latte from the coffee machine and retreating back to the snug of your sumptuous slumber setting to admire the sensational views beyond. Suitably fuelled, venture outside to soak up the rays on whichever sunspot takes your fancy. 

Peeling yourself away from your private patch of paradise will be no easy feat, that’s for sure – but if you do manage to drag yourself away for a little while, the charm of the tiny streets and stunning white architecture won’t disappoint. There’s also tons of native flora and fauna to marvel at, as well as the foothills of the Sierra de Mijas Mountain range.

Queen of the Mountains

With panoramic views of the Mediterranean Sea from the private wraparound terrace, this penthouse apartment certainly delivers. Located on the eighth floor (don’t worry, there’s a lift), you can overlook the water as you relax on a lounger or dine alfresco. Inside, the living area and main bedroom share the same vistas as they both open out onto the terrace. And with a separate kitchen – complete with breakfast bar – there’s plenty of space for everyone to enjoy. Location-wise, you’re in the heart of popular Fuengirola, just a stone’s throw from a sandy beach.

Sunny Vista Delights

Just a short stroll from the beach, we found this sprawling villa perfect for a family of sun lovers. Poolside, with its sea views, is where to be, although the lack of shaded seating means you'll need to be extra generous with the sun cream. And while the inside's simple decor isn't anything to write home about, the open-plan living space is a nice touch – perfect for coming together as a group. There are several shaded balconies here, so you can continue to enjoy the heat with an afternoon cocktail. Come dinner time, you'll find Playa Bonita's restaurants and bars are within walking distance.

A Seaside Serenade

Looking for an easy breezy retreat in Costa del Sol with sea views and a private plunge pool to boot? Et Voila! The search is over.

Dazzling white from top to toe with interiors as crisp as they come, you'll be doing some serious swooning here – and that's before you even step outside onto that vast private terrace and clap your eyes on the sea views and inviting plunge pool.

Set on an exclusive and oh-so-luxurious resort – you'll never be short of things to do here. Mosey down to the palm-fringed shared swimming pools – there's a swim training pool to bank some laps, or settle down on the in-water loungers to soak up the Mediterranean rays. Then take your pick from the four on-site restaurants, bars and a bakery when thoughts turn to food and a glass of something crisp.

Then blaze a trail to the sandy shores of Playa Faro de Calaburras, with a charming beach restaurant to keep the drinks flowing – it's just 650 metres from your door, and the resort's courtesy train will have you there in no time. Just be sure to make it home before the sun sets – the views from your terrace are out-of-this-world.

Bright and quirky, this rural home – only minutes away from the heart of Estacion de Cartama – is the perfect escape for anyone looking to explore Malaga at a more relaxed pace.

Start mornings off in the farmhouse-style kitchen by preparing breakfast for everyone to enjoy at the powder-blue dining table found on the shaded terrace. Stay out there long after, tying to decide what shape your day might take. 

Pledge yourself to the pool, either in or around, if you’re spending the day at home.
