The Narcisse is only a few minutes away from Calle Fuencarral, one of our favourite shopping streets in Madrid. To say that it's centrally located is an understatement, especially since this home is practically surrounded by Malasaña's finest quirky cafes and restaurants. Narcisse is an ambitious home – the golden details are risky but well-balanced with calmer tones, and the layout is (rightfully) focused on maximising the natural light, which mostly comes from the French doors. But in the end, this home won us over with the urban view.

Housed in a beautiful building in Madrid’s elegant Almagro neighbourhood – known for its grand mansions, foreign embassies, and art galleries – this comfortable apartment puts you in an ideal spot to experience the city’s art, culture and gastronomy. 
 
Inside, wood floors, contemporary decor and a collection of eye-catching pieces of art create a calm and welcoming impression in the open-plan living area. The sectional sofa beckons chilled-out evenings over a good book and a glass of Spanish red, while the desk space here comes in handy for those needing to catch up on work. The dining table invites sociable breakfasts over invigorating coffees and celebratory dinners when you’re not out sampling the local tapas scene, and the three comfortable bedrooms are ready to ease you into a restful night’s sleep at the end of a long day of sightseeing.

When you see as many flats as we do, you learn very quickly to tell which homes have been done up for convenience, and which are a labour of love. Toquilla clearly falls into the latter category. It’s been designed as a whole, with thought and attention put into the schemes, as well as the materials. We particularly liked the concrete pillars and the glass walls, neither of which are especially common in Madrid. The only real complaint we have is the fake plants – They’re understandable for the convenience, but really, most places would be better off without anything.

Inspired by the grasslands of Spain, this apartment brings a touch of natural calm to its vibrant location. Nestled in the heart of Trafalgar, you can stroll to the restaurants and cafes surrounding Plaza de Olavide. It’s worth noting there is no private parking available here, but there are great public transport links – ensuring smooth connections with the rest of Madrid. Wherever the day takes you, the private terrace lends itself perfectly to evening drinks. There is also a dedicated desk for remote workers, while the Bluetooth speakers mean you can relax to the sound of your favourite playlist.

Perfect for business travellers, this apartment boasts two desks for all your work-from-home needs. There's also a well-equipped kitchen, a cosy lounge, and a duo of comfortable bedrooms. One is a little more snug than the other, but we think this pad will be a stylish and practical option for a city getaway. Location-wise, this is a great starting point for exploring Madrid. Chamberí has a more local feel than other neighbourhoods, so you'll experience authentic Madrid. Plus, you're only a short metro ride from landmarks like Puerta del Sol and Plaza Mayor.

Days begin with an espresso out on the terrace, overlooking the bustling neighbourhood square, before treating yourself to an indulgent bubble bath in the jacuzzi. After a relaxing start, gather the group around the L-shaped bench-style breakfast nook or flop down in the stylish living area and map out the day's tourist itinerary. Head to the elegant streets below for a bite to eat at a traditional tapas bar, before taking the short walk to the Plaza de España, Puerta de Alcalá and Palacio Real de Madrid. 

Desert Sand

This stylish Trafalgar apartment boasts a communal swimming pool up on the roof and makes for an excellent base for working remotely. Well-behaved pets are welcome to join you for an additional fee, and you'll have a dedicated desk for staying productive during the day. The kitchen is equipped for whipping up light bites, but without an oven, you won't be cooking large meals here. That said though, you'll have your pick of Madrid's fantastic restaurants right on your doorstep, along with shops and public transport for commuting or sightseeing.

Situated in the well-to-do neighbourhood of Almagro, this apartment might be a lot more contemporary than many of the historic mansions found locally, but it's no less covetable in our eyes.

Across the two floors, there's an abundance of earthy colours, natural materials and boho touches, including a hammock chair in the bedroom that is simply begging for an afternoon doze. The long, wood-panelled kitchen is plenty big enough for home-cooking when you fancy a night off the city's restaurants, and we've also only got compliments for the airy dining space.

The real star of the show, however, is the terrace accessed through the living room's glass doors. Out here, you take a perch on the hammock chair and appreciate the peace and quiet that comes with being a couple of levels up from the bustling streets.

When it comes to sightseeing, you really don't have to venture far to find some noteworthy sights, including museums dedicated to archaeology, romanticism and the old Chambieri metro station. The expansive Parque de el Retiro is only a short walk away, too.



Earth Dweller

This charmingly bright apartment is the perfect resting point during your adventures in Madrid. The living space gets a beautiful amount of natural daylight through the windows, the perfect accompaniment for an afternoon spent on the sofa reading a brand new book. Whip up a homemade treat in the kitchen, followed by enjoying an alfresco experience on the terrace under the sun. The nearby hammock is a wonderful spot for a snooze after a deliciously filling meal.

Close by to this home, you can visit a plethora of museums, including the History Museum, which is just a twelve-minute walk away. Or on rainy days, why not watch a movie at the cinema – a short four-minute walk away. 

The lively Plaza del Dos de Mayo – an urban square which is named after the uprisings that happened on May 2nd 1808, when the population of Madrid rebelled against Napoleon's invading troops – is just an eleven-minute walk away. The plaza is home to many bars and cafes, and at the weekend it often hosts a craftwork and design market. 

Public transport links that are just a four-minute walk away will also allow you to explore further afield. El Retiro Park is just twenty-three minutes away using public transport. El Retiro was exclusively used by royalty until it was opened up to the public in the 19th-century, and now you can admire its ornate fountains, see statues of Spanish writers and heroes, take a leisurely stroll, and lunch in one of the open-air cafes. 

The stunning sights of the Royal Palace of Madrid and the Plaza Mayor are both eighteen-minutes away from this home using public transport. While Casa de Campo – where you will find a zoo and aquarium, an amusement park, tennis courts, an outdoor public swimming pool and much more – is just under an hour away on public transport.

Tucked away in a typical Madrid townhouse in Chamberí, Grottino is a great base to explore the city. The streets surrounding this home are part of a neighbourhood that's just as opulent as Salamanca, yet closer to the old centre – which is great for a first-time visitor. Grottino might not be the brightest home in our collection, but a lot of care has been invested in designing the lighting in this small home, so that it resembles an urban chalet. We particularly liked the brick wall in the bathroom and the chic kitchenette.

Situated in the heart of Chamberí, this modern loft-style apartment is a real gem. Just a stone’s throw from Chueca’s bars and Gran Via’s shops, it’s a perfect spot to call home. This apartment has a mezzanine, so you’ll need to climb some stairs to the upper-floor bedroom, but once you're up you’ll find a stylish bedroom to unwind after a day of sightseeing. There’s a sleek breakfast bar-cum-working bench, so you can sip coffee and fire off emails when work calls. Though the city is easily walkable, you’ll find metro stations within a few steps or speak to your host about private parking.

When it came to designing this home, the owners were inspired by the spirit of the mountains. The result is a fresh and calm apartment that brings ease to city living. From here, you can relax, cook, listen to your favourite playlists or catch up on work at the dedicated desks. There is also a little balcony – providing the perfect spot for a morning coffee. It’s worth noting there is no private parking available here, but you will find everything you could need within walking distance. Further light flows in from the glass doors leading out onto a private rooftop terrace with incredible views over Madrid’s skyline. Whether you start mornings here over fresh coffee and pastries or end the night with a celebratory Sangria, you’ll love feasting on the wide-sweeping views and watching the hustle and bustle below from your privileged seventh-floor vantage point. 
 
Back in the living room, there’s plenty to keep you entertained. Kick back on the stylish Mies Van der Rohe chair with one of the countless books on the shelves or make yourself comfortable as you listen to some vinyl from the host’s extensive collection. In the evenings, gather around the grand dining table for a celebratory soirée, then retreat to the tropical-inspired main bedroom for a blissful night’s sleep. With a children’s bed in the second bedroom as well as plenty of toys and games, this is the perfect spot for families, while the jazzy decor, vinyl collection, DVDs and stacked shelves will keep adults wonderfully happy too.
 
When it comes to exploring, your Chamberí neighbourhood offers a relaxed atmosphere away from the tourist crowds, with an abundance of tapas bars and restaurants frequented by locals. Elsewhere, the ​​Sorolla Museum is a seventeen-minute walk, bustling Gran Vía is an eighteen-minute stroll, while the Royal Palace of Madrid is twenty-five minutes away on foot. 
 


The Rohean

Get to know the vibrant city of Madrid from this cosy and stylish apartment, located near Malasaña. The facilities are simple here and you'll only have a kitchenette, but there's a range of restaurants right on your doorstep for whatever you're craving. Storage is tight here and there isn't a proper wall or door to separate the bedroom from the rest of the home, but we think it's a great spot for a couple or solo traveller looking to live like a local for a weekend. While you won't find parking outside, nearby public transport will make sure you get to visit all of Madrid's best bits with ease.

Whispers of the City

Located just north of Madrid’s vibrant Malasaña neighbourhood, this modern apartment puts you in a prime position to explore the city’s historic sights, all while enjoying the many coffee shops, bakeries and vintage clothing stores around you. 
 
Inside, parquet floors, contemporary furnishings and vibrant pops of tangerine orange in the plump sofa’s throw cushions set a welcoming scene in the living area. We love the glossy finish of the glass table’s metal legs – the ideal spot to enjoy an intimate meal when you’re not out sampling the local tapas scene – as well as the large mirror here that helps maximise this petite but perfectly pretty space. The bedroom, meanwhile, is a fashionably pared-back and has been curated with a restful sleep in mind.
 
When it comes to sightseeing, walk seventeen minutes to go shopping along Gran Vía with its beautifully striking architecture, or head to bustling Plaza de España, just over a twenty-minute stroll away. You’re also a twenty-five-minute walk from leafy El Retiro Park, while the Sorolla Museum is fourteen minutes away on foot. 


El Espejo

This modern and practical base in the convenient Chamberí neighbourhood sets you up for a fuss-free stay well within reach of the city's major sights – the Plaza de España and the Puerta de Alcalá are a short walk away. While we love the overall design, there isn't a lot of natural light here, but the decor is modern and you'll find everything needed for a comfortable stay. There's a desk in the living area for those working from home plus the sofa bed accommodates a fifth person – though there's only enough dining space for four guests. It's also worth noting that the kitchen is a little dated, although you'll find plenty of great restaurants on your doorstep. 

The Spanish Air

We love this place, not only because it is nestled in the heart of one of our favourite cities, but also because this apartment is a true gem. Filled with gentle warmth and decorated in style, this is the perfect base for a couple’s getaway, or an ideal abode for a single traveller. 

To stay here is to get immersed in a desert-inspired oasis, decorated with carefully chosen furnishings, with numerous touches of colour and lush plants dotted around. You’ll find yourself inspired to enjoy a glass of wine or a quiet supper in the charming dining area, or a cocktail or two on the balcony. We are also very much in favour of the bedroom arrangements – from the comfort of the luxurious bed itself, to the unique décor and warm lighting, you will find it all you need for a perfectly restful night. 

If there is any work you need to catch up on, you’ll find just the spot at the especially dedicated office space, which also maintains the overall cosy vibe. 

Add to it the fact that you are located in the heart of one of the city’s most exciting areas, and we think you just found yourself the spot to have the perfect Madrid experience.

This stylish apartment lies in Madrid's trendy Chamberí district, ideal for couples or solo travellers and their furry friends. You'll be well-placed to explore Trafalgar on foot, with an array of restaurants and the Plaza de Olavide a short walk away. We love that both bedrooms open onto a small balcony, and one has a desk for when you need to work while in Madrid.

You'll be a twenty-minute Metro ride from the city's cultural scene, while the local residential area of Almagro offers a great selection of museums, eateries and shops. Back home, we appreciate the modern interiors and the large dining area is a welcomed sight. Two bedrooms are equipped with workstations so it's suitable for business trips. And, there's a private balcony leading off the living space and the second bedroom – perfect for morning coffees before heading out and exploring the Spanish capital.

Keep things local at Plaza de Chamberí and hang with the madrileños in its buzzy cafes. And be sure to check out Estación de Chamberí – the long-lost ghost train now reimagined into a museum. It’s as intriguing as it sounds.

Desks and high-speed wi-fi make remote working a breeze here, and the kitchen has everything you need for cooking up a storm. We think the single bedroom is better suited for children or those with less luggage, as space is limited.

A splendid base in Madrid, this apartment has everything you might need during your stay. There’s a handy workspace for those in town for business, and a cool, calm vibe – we like the classy coastal palette. The private terrace is a marvellous spot for your morning coffee and sundowners, and the kitchen and dining space mean you can whip up hearty breakfasts to set you up for days of sightseeing. The apartment is in vibrant Trafalgar, close to lively Calle de Fuencarral and all its shops. For explorations further afield, you can hop on the metro at Quevado and San Bernardo, both of which are a short walk away. 

The Cuttlefish

Chic and bohemian, this apartment has looks and location on its side. Found in the heart of Almagro, minutes away from several art galleries and museums where you can immerse yourself in Spanish culture and historical landmarks like the 18th-century Royal Palace of Madrid. Though compact, it will comfortably accommodate two guests, ideal for romantic weekends away, but with a laptop-friendly workspace, it's just as perfect for solo business trips. Either way, you'll have a stylish terrace to unwind on with a couple of drinks at the end of every day.

Blue Spring

Here's something you don't see in many city apartments: a huge cloakroom, complete with all the wardrobes you could possibly need – particularly useful if you're planning a long stay. But although it's unusual, it's not the storage space that makes this delightful home stand out from the crowd. 

Designed with great attention to detail, it's a comfortable, relaxed and stylish place for up to five guests. Set in a traditional building, with the usual high ceilings, tall windows and Juliet balconies, the cool tones of pale green and white give it a fresh look, and we particularly love the use of wood panelling and the enormous round mirror bouncing light around the dining area. Snuggle on the sofa, play some tunes on the record player or enjoy a relaxed meal and a couple of glasses of wine at the table.

More residential than some of the city's other districts, there's still plenty to do nearby, with great bars and restaurants. And your home is just a few minutes' walk from the nearest Metro station, so it's easy as pie to get around.

Arcadia Green

There's a distinctly bohemian flavour to this apartment in the Chamberí neighbourhood of Madrid. It has something to do with the earthy colour scheme, wooden furnishings, woven decorative items and abundance of house plants, which all combine together to make for an instantly relaxing space.

This impression continues out in the home's impressive balcony space, which features an alfresco dining table and a shady bench that's more than comfy enough for a siesta. There's even another terrace just off the kitchen with more seating and a pleasant view of the Madrilenian rooftops.

It would be remiss at this point not to point out that it's not all boho here — the kitchen and bathrooms are contemporary in style, while the large windows and glass doors make the most of the sunny days that fill the calendar in this part of Spain.

The local neighbourhood is more residential than some of the city's livelier bits, but that's not to say there's not much to do nearby. Parque Bravo Murillo is less than five minutes' walk to the north and the Sorolla Museum located inside a nineteenth-century house takes only ten minutes on foot to reach.

Live like a true Madrileño from the moment you drop your bags in this Trafalgar apartment. We think it's a great choice whether you're travelling for work or leisure, with a kitchen well-equipped for family meals and several dedicated desks for remote working. The Indonesian theme continues inside with lush potted palms, geometric lantern-style lights, and a bamboo curtain that reveals a modern kitchen. Put some vinyl on the record player while you prepare a delicious home-cooked meal. 

If you can tear yourself away from the terrace, Chamberí awaits. Culture lovers can head to the Sorolla Museum and art gallery, set within an elegant 19th-century house, a fifteen-minute walk away. It's the same distance to Teatros del Canal, where you can watch a flamenco performance, or admire the mansions and browse the boutiques on Calle Zurbano, then go for tapas in Plaza de Olavide (six minutes on foot). Alternatively, if you crave green space, visit El Retiro Park, just over a twenty-minute walk from this gorgeous home.


East Of Java

Walk five minutes to the Parque Conde Del Valle De Suchill, or eight minutes to Plaza del Dos de Mayo. If you’d like to explore other corners of the city, a handful of metro stations are within a five-minute walk.

Located in the quieter neighbourhood of Ríos Rosas, this pad offers a calmer side of the city whilst still placing you within easy reach of the tapas bars and restaurants along Calle Ponzano. The highlight for us here is the communal pool – after a day of gallery hopping where better to enjoy a spot of sun? Gregorio Marañón metro station is right around the corner, although you can easily explore the boutiques, bars and hidden backstreets on foot.

 Elegantly dressed in swathes of creme, pearl and alabaster-coloured textures, this beautiful apartment in Madrid’s stately Chamberí neighbourhood is just the ticket for those looking for comfort and class.

Those keeping one eye on work during their stay will find the dedicated office spaces perfectly suited for client catch-ups and quiet moments. 

But the real highlight of this home is upstairs on the building's communal roof terrace, where you can cool off with a dip in the pool while looking over the city's terracotta-hued skyline. Pre-dinnner drinks go down a treat up here too – we recommend gathering together for jugs of sangria and sunset views. Below, it's only twenty-six minutes on foot or seventeen minutes by public transport to the Plaza Mayor, lined with centuries-old buildings and traditional architecture. When you're not taking in the cultural attractions or tucking into a paella at one of the restaurants nearby, both El Retiro Park and the Prado Museum are under thirty minutes away by metro or on foot.
