This home is the lap of luxury indeed, in the yacht-filled town of Puerto Banus where a sweep of sandy beach awaits, just a two-minute walk away. It’s the details that set this villa apart from the rest – the wine cooler for those bottles of bubbly, the jetted Jacuzzi tub surrounded by glass in the main bedroom’s ensuite, and a private sauna to really unwind. The swimming pool is heated, so you can enjoy a swim year-round and there’s a big Weber grill for barbecues by the poolside.

Inside, it’s impressive. Glass doors are automated, and can fold back to blend the huge living area with the terrace outside. Gallery-white walls let the quirky lighting fixtures above the dining table and plush velvet chairs speak for themselves. Yet, there’s something study-like about the main lounge with its wall of shelves showing off all manner of object d’art. The kitchen, with its long, marble-style bar, wouldn’t look out of place in a 1960’s entertainer’s LA pad. The home itself is simple but has everything you need for an extended stay – the terrace stood out to us in particular as a spot to get some privacy while still enjoying the sun. The large communal pools will be a real hit with the kids, and golf enthusiasts will be pleased to know there are two courses nearby. And if you want to hit the coast, Puerto Banús is just a short drive.

We highly recommend trying the local tapas, which are typically rich in flavours and quality, and typically include dishes such as croquetas, boquerones, pulpo, patatas bravas, and pimiento del piquillo.

There's just as much to like behind the home's white facade. This recently refurbished Andalucian villa has all the ingredients you could want for a relaxing break in the Spanish sunshine. We can't really start with anything other than the swimming pool that takes up most of the garden, which is overlooked by palm trees and surrounded by loungers.

Around the home itself, you'll find a terrace that stretches around the property with a lounge, alfresco dining area and a pretty impressive outdoor kitchen set-up. It's fair to say that you could spend the bulk of your time outside, but that would be being the modern interior a disservice. There are plenty of standout features behind the front door, from the sleek wooden kitchen and spa-standard bathrooms to the crocodile-shaped bench in one of the bedrooms.

And the location's not half bad, either. You can be standing on the golden sands of Playa del Saladillo in around twenty minutes on foot or strolling around the designer boutiques of Puerto Banús in just under the same amount of time in the car.
