It’s worth noting there is no private parking here, but free street parking is available nearby and there are great public transport links. You can take the bus or walk to La Concha Beach (less than 2 kilometres away), and the Monte Igueldo funicular is also within easy reach.

Elegant, yet relaxed interiors and wonderfully comfortable beds make this home a great choice for a couple or a small family. Located in the city centre, it’s about a twenty-minute walk to San Sebastian’s Old Town, where you’ll find the highest concentration of its famous pintxos bars and restaurants. You’re also just a short walk from La Concha beach and its beautiful Belle Époque restaurant and spa. But what’s really special about this home is that you’ll have free on-site parking. Now that may not seem like a big deal, but in a city that is filled with winding, narrow streets and charges high prices for parking, you’ll be grateful to have a hassle-free place to keep your car. It is worth noting, however, that due to this home’s first-floor position, it can be a little bit noisy during the day when children play at the park across the street. Still, with so much going on in this vibrant city, we doubt you’ll be spending much time at home anyway.

While the understated interiors aren't the most inspiring, the desirable location more than makes up for it. The bedrooms are comfortable (though the second of the two lacks natural light) and the kitchen is well-equipped if you fancy eating in. Having a car isn’t essential here, but if you plan on bringing a vehicle, your host can help you find somewhere to park.

Back inside, there's a similar generosity when it comes to space, as well as copious amounts of natural light from the large windows. The design is fresh and contemporary, especially in the kitchen full of sleek surfaces and all the equipment you could need to try your hand at Basque cuisine.

We can find very little to fault with this apartment just around the corner from Amara railway station. A recent renovation means that the interior design feels vibrant and modern, with pops of colour coming from the house plants, eclectic artwork and the kitchen's bold red surfaces.

The home's high ceilings and shiny wooden floors work well with the ample amount of natural light that comes in through the French doors, while there's even a small balcony in case you want to feel the sunlight on your skin at any point.

We should mention that the central location is nothing short of superb. La Concha beach is all of five minutes' walk away, while the famous Old Town and Mount Urgull are about double that time. The charming Plaza Easo is less than sixty seconds on foot from the front door, too.

With a wealth of seafood restaurants, oyster huts and beach shops to make the most of – this atmospheric seaside resort is a gorgeous place to discover come night and daytime. If you fancy your luck on the slot machines – the casino located just 300 metres away offers a fun change of scenery after a day on the beach.
