Just ten minutes from Palma's centre, it offers a perfect balance between the quiet of a rural location, and all the buzz and convenience of city centre sights, restaurants and shops a short hop away. 

There’s an outdoor and indoor bar – hello welcome drinks – private gym and even a massage room, not to mention mountain views and indoor bike storage. And the comfort carries right through to the outdoor pool area, where the chance to relax is everywhere. A full outdoor lounge spans the length of the terrace, shaded by a wooden pergola, and we love the propellor coffee tables that add a quirky touch. A summer kitchen can provide the alfresco feasts every evening, if you’re not heading into Palma.

The interior is an entertainer’s paradise with that glass-cubed bar in the living room and huge open spaces designed for socialising. There’s a touch of Japanese-zen to the dining area where an ink-black dining set sits against a cherry blossom mural, and the lounge feels like a Balinese chill-out space with tufted leather sofas and pot plants. Bedrooms are soothingly neutral in tone, and the master comes with a free-standing slipper tub for an evening soak.

This restored farmhouse is located up in the peaceful Tramuntana mountains and is best suited to groups who want to be away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Spread across two floors, guests can enjoy a fully-equipped kitchen, a spacious living area complete with a fireplace for cooler seasons, and en-suite bedrooms. We love the large outdoor patio and kitchen area – the perfect spot for some alfresco dining. Due to the remote location of this home, we recommend hiring a car for your stay – the center of Valldemossa is less than a ten-minute drive away.

The home dates back to 1350 but has been lovingly refurbished into an elegant escape, equipped with all the modern comforts you might need – including a sauna, gym, and badminton court.

This fabulous period townhouse is a real find. Authentic, beautifully styled and packed with character, it's a homage to the city and its history. Set over five floors, including the stunning roof terrace, its green shuttered windows and balconies are in keeping with the area's traditional feel, and the interior, while stylish and comfortable, reminds us of a museum. Whites and terracotta tones make for a timeless feel, while architectural features like the marble staircase and beamed ceilings provide a backdrop to a collection of antiques, vintage artworks and local artefacts – some even displayed in cabinets. 

The living space is exquisite, with windows to three sides, a comfy sofa and an open plan kitchen and dining space, and although the kitchen isn't huge, the host has managed to pack in everything you could need. But we think you're likely to be eating on the roof terrace most evenings. With its own small preparation kitchen to save you lugging dishes up the stairs, this space is simply beautiful. Eat together at the little table, read on the sun loungers or just take in the views across the rooftops. Given some privacy by a series of screening curtains, it's a superb place to watch the sun go down with a good bottle of wine.

Portals Nous itself also has a range of seafood restaurants and chic bars along the marina, where you can sip a glass of wine and watch the boats bobbing in the water. And, if you fancy a day trip to the historic city of Palma, you can drive over to visit the cathedral and fortress within fifteen minutes.

This home is truly a garden of earthly delights. Like its surroundings, the private, fenced grounds are verdant and fresh. Made up of three traditional stone buildings, your countryside finca dream will come to life. A saltwater pool is the centrepiece, while rocking chairs, wicker dining sets, and a hanging egg chair give you plenty of options for taking in the sun. Let the kids run wild around the garden, with the table football and swing set keeping them busy while you pick fresh oranges and almonds from the trees.

There is also a piano in the second sitting room – perfect for music lovers.

With a privileged setting right on Cala Deià, this home has breathtaking sea and mountain vistas. Walk down the private path to the beach 50 metres away, relax by the crystal clear waters, and then head for a sublime seafood lunch at one of two restaurants. Or let your host, Jordi, charter a yacht or organise helicopter flights to see more of the island.

Back at this gorgeous home, sip some Cava in the jacuzzi – we adore the views. Inside, there's a boho-chic vibe with Chesterfield armchairs and raffia light shades. The place consists of two separate homes with private entrances, so it's perfect for a family or friends wanting more privacy. Jordi's family built this house when there were no roads here, and they had to use boats and donkeys to carry everything over. Without a shadow of a doubt, we can say their efforts were more than worth it – it's a truly magical place.

Nestled in a quiet rural area on the outskirts of Marratxí, yet less than fifteen minutes by car to bustling Palma, this villa promises the best of both worlds. Comfortable for a family or group of friends, the interiors are minimalist but offer everything needed for a relaxing Spanish stay. In contrast, the outdoor space comes alive. Sun-kissed terraces, a private pool, alfresco dining opportunities and quiet chill-out nooks under swaying palm trees – there’s so much you’ll fall in love with here.

Get the best of both worlds with this gorgeous home in Palma. Ca'n Pere Antoni Beach is a five-minute stroll, while Palma Cathedral and the Old Town are just under ten minutes on foot.
