Though the interior style here might not be everyone's cup of tea, it's certainly comfortable and well-kept. Here's one for all you beach lovers out there. Perched in the authentic seaside town of Oliva and just a five-minute drive to some of the coast's prettiest beaches, you couldn't dream up a better spot to base yourself for a sun, sea, and sand escape.

Spend your days hopping between the beaches and mooching about Oliva's history-rich streets and weekly market. Or, for a spot of culture and a slap-up dinner out, jump ship to the enticing traditional fishing town of Dénia (just a twenty-minute drive). 

Back at home, this newly built villa is bringing all the hacienda vibes with tumbling bougainvillea and green lawns outside, and of course, that most important of luxuries – a private pool to cool off after hazy days at the beach.

Inside, everywhere feels fresh and inviting, with cool, tiled floors and a muted palette. And with a bathroom for each of the bedrooms, there's no tussles for the best room here. 

The kitchen is made for action if you fancy cooking up some tasty tapas plates at home, and the wine fridge will keep your Valencian white chilled just right. But with the water-edge tavernas of Oliva calling your name, we wouldn't blame you if you headed out for dinner instead.

As well as a private pool, the lush gardens have lots of extra features, including a yoga gazebo, Balinese day bed, and fruit tree orchard. And inside, there’s plenty of space for everyone to find a bit of privacy when they want it. Location-wise, the villa is near a twenty-seven-hole golf course and a day spa, with the tourist destinations of Denia and Javea also within easy reach.

Smack bang in the heart of delightful Dénia, this no-fuss apartment is perfect for couples or solo travellers looking for some rest and relaxation on the Costa Blanca. Inside, the place strikes a balance between comfort and function. There’s a compact kitchen equipped for quick meals and a quiet bedroom to ensure a peaceful sleep night after night. But it was the view that was our favourite part. We could’ve spent hours on that modular chair, watching the palm trees sway and the boats to and fro from the harbour, only breaking our gaze to open a bottle of Rioja as the sun sets. Spend mornings exploring your locale – you’re a ten-minute walk from the Dénia Castle and eighteen minutes from the Marineta Casiana Beach. If you’re feeling curious, take the twenty-minute drive to Parc Natural del Montgó for stunning hiking routes or catch the ferry from the port to the dazzling Balearic Islands.

You’ll find it hard to drag yourself away from this tranquil spot. 

For those seeking a bit more action, the sun glistening off the surface of the pool is bound to invite you in for a swim, after which you can stretch out on a sun lounger with the mountains as your backdrop. With petanque, table tennis and a full-size clay tennis court, you’ll never be lost for something to do. With the beauty of nature wrapping around you, here, you’ve found a little slice of Spanish paradise.

Just a three minute walk to the nearest sandy beach of Arenal, you'll be spoilt for choice when it comes to choosing somewhere for dinner, a morning coffee, or a glass of sangria as you watch the world go by. There is also a rocky beach just a stone's throw from the apartment, where you can enjoy excellent snorkelling, scuba diving and fishing. The pretty port and historic old town of Javea is just three kilometres away, and you'll find two prestigious golf courses within around a twenty minute radius.

Whether you've spent that day playing a few holes, soaking up the southern Spanish sunshine on your favourite local beach, or exploring the beguiling backstreets of Javea – unmistakably Spanish with their whitewashed houses adorned with bright swathes of bougainvillea – you can always return to the comfort and calm of this home away from home. Cook up something tasty in the kitchen (we especially love preparing a steam pan of Arroz a la Banda, Alicante’s take on typical paella), before heading out onto the balcony that overlooks the communal swimming pool, perhaps breaking out the board games to while away the evening as dusk turns into a star-speckled night.

This spacious and well-located villa is a good option for a family or group of friends wanting to holiday in Denia, Costa Blanca. There's a fully equipped kitchen and comfortable living room area to relax in – albeit a little dated in terms of decor. Equipped for all seasons, there's a fireplace for cooler evenings and air conditioning for the summer months. We love the lawned gardens surrounding this family-friendly home – they boast superb sea and mountain views and include a large private pool and BBQ area too. While you can explore the local area on foot, we suggest a car for ease – Parc Natural del Montgó is less than 2km from the villa.

With sea views and plenty of spots to soak up the rays, this villa makes an ideal Costa Blanca retreat. Everyone will enjoy the swimming pool, while the covered terrace and sun-kissed sitting area are perfect for dinner and drinks in the coastal breeze. Sure, the design isn't the most modern, but there's a lot of room to spread out inside – not to mention it's kitted out with everything you need for a fuss-free stay. A car is a must here, as this home is located in the hills above the town. Still, it's just a short drive to Jávea's beaches, restaurants, and buzzing centre.

In the afternoon, float about in the cool water of the communal pool. Or why not jump in the car and explore Spain’s southeastern coast? Head into Dénia for a trip back in time at the Archaeological Museum followed by a sunbathing session on the soft sands of Platja de les Marines.

Featuring a lovely, light filled open plan kitchen cum dining and living room, courtesy of floor to ceiling sliding glass doors which open out onto a cosy courtyard, this artful home boasts both style and substance. Nods to the nautical meet whitewashed walls and windows shutters while brand spanking new cabinetry meets worn wooden furniture, woven basket lights and colourful framed prints. 

Undoubtedly the star of the show, however, is the interior courtyard, with its traditional Tosca stone walls and Spanish style tiled floor – the perfect relaxing retreat come morning, noon or night. You’ll love rising early to catch the sunrise before taking your morning coffee out into the courtyard. Host cook offs and gather around the dining table for sociable meal times or head out for hours of sun-baked fun at the beach before meandering along to one of the many local seaside cafes for fresh food and uninterrupted Mediterranean views.

Being situated on a resort, this home is tailor-made for the family. When you're not lounging on the beach you'll likely be splashing around in the communal pool. The kids even have their own children's pool to enjoy. But when you don't want to get wet, why not admire from afar? With two balconies to utilise at this home, you'll always have wonderful views of turqoise waters and swaying palm trees to look at. We particularly like the master bedroom's private balcony, which will definitely be your go-to for a romantic sangria after the kids have gone to bed.

Since this home is part of a complex of apartments, there may be some noise from neighbours – we suggest packing earplugs to ensure a good night's sleep. With the sands of Platja de l'Arenal right on your doorstep, this is a perfect location for beach lovers.

If you want to hole up and not leave the apartment, you'll find plenty to keep you entertained. From the flat-screen TV to the large garden and your very own private pool, there is every chance you'll stay put. After practicing your strokes in the pool, fire-up the barbecue for lunch on the shaded terrace. Feeling tired? The locals strongly believe in a siesta, and we can't agree with the concept more. Idyllic Jávea caters to all kinds of holidaymakers, offering bouncing seaside bars and historical sights, plus a national park a short drive away.

This apartment is nestled on the coast of the historic Javea, a short walk from the sea. The central location means parking will be tricky, but you'll be close to public transport. You'll want to pack light here – the home is small, but has everything needed for a fuss-free stay. We especially like the private balcony, which offers natural light and enough space to sit out with a drink. If you want a base for exploring the town and coastline, you can't get much closer to the action.

You're just 500 metres away from the sandy shores of La Marinas and five kilometres from the history-rich streets of Denia – considered one of Costa Blanca's most desirable coastal towns. Back home, this traditional villa is well suited for guests looking for a little extra privacy, with each light-filled bedroom offering a separate bathroom. Though prepare to tussle for the primary bedroom with a ginormous freestanding bath in the en-suite and garden views to boot.
