Truly a villa the whole family can enjoy, a home cinema, games room, gym and office space lie within the wall of this uniquely designed home. Though the interior style here might not be everyone's cup of tea, it's certainly comfortable and well-kept. There are also plenty of breakout spaces for guests to stretch out and relax, but our favourite aspect here is the outdoors. A private pool can be found surrounded by a lush green garden. There's also ample seating and a barbecue area. Location-wise, you're a short drive from the medieval structures of Valencia.

This villa sits in a tranquil residential area where you’ll be a twenty-minute walk from Costa Blanca’s warm golden sand beaches. Benefitting from a host of restaurants and bars, the 200-kilometre-long vibrant and built-up shore is known for its buzzing nightlife and evening entertainment. Well-positioned, a stay here offers you that precious downtime with the option of big exciting trips into town.

Smack bang in the heart of delightful Dénia, this no-fuss apartment is perfect for couples or solo travellers looking for some rest and relaxation on the Costa Blanca. Inside, the place strikes a balance between comfort and function. There’s a compact kitchen equipped for quick meals and a quiet bedroom to ensure a peaceful sleep night after night. But it was the view that was our favourite part. We could’ve spent hours on that modular chair, watching the palm trees sway and the boats to and fro from the harbour, only breaking our gaze to open a bottle of Rioja as the sun sets. Spend mornings exploring your locale – you’re a ten-minute walk from the Dénia Castle and eighteen minutes from the Marineta Casiana Beach. If you’re feeling curious, take the twenty-minute drive to Parc Natural del Montgó for stunning hiking routes or catch the ferry from the port to the dazzling Balearic Islands.

Immediately, this home is a sight to behold. An impressive contemporary design of sharp edges and white stone stands bold against pine-clad hillside. Inside, light and airy bedrooms are maximised by enormous sliding doors that open out onto a wrap-around balcony. Downstairs, the open-plan living space exudes sophisticated minimalism. Clean, simple lines flow onto the terrace, where you're greeted with a burst of technicolour. The pool, sky and ocean on the horizon shimmer in all shades of blue, while the garden blooms a verdant green. Bring up a bottle of red from the wine cellar and sit out in the sun on a lounger or around the dining table, snacking on cured meats and chatting about nothing in particular. The charming town of Xàbia is just a ten-minute drive away – here you can deliberate between restaurants that serve the best of Spanish cuisine before heading home to catch a pastel sunset. In the friendly tourist town of Dénia, enjoy the slow pace and siestas that make for the best summer holidays on the Mediterranean. Having said that, Ibiza also beckons – though you may want to limit your partying to the daylight hours, as it's a three-hour ferry trip away. Back on the mainland, hiking trails and mountain paths will satisfy those looking for a spot of adventure.

This seaside haven in the heart of Javea Port is our kind of heaven. Tucked away and yet mere moments from La Grava beach, this ground floor two-bedroom home is pure boho-beach chic. Featuring a lovely, light filled open plan kitchen cum dining and living room, courtesy of floor to ceiling sliding glass doors which open out onto a cosy courtyard, this artful home boasts both style and substance. Nods to the nautical meet whitewashed walls and windows shutters while brand spanking new cabinetry meets worn wooden furniture, woven basket lights and colourful framed prints. 

Undoubtedly the star of the show, however, is the interior courtyard, with its traditional Tosca stone walls and Spanish style tiled floor – the perfect relaxing retreat come morning, noon or night. You’ll love rising early to catch the sunrise before taking your morning coffee out into the courtyard. Host cook offs and gather around the dining table for sociable meal times or head out for hours of sun-baked fun at the beach before meandering along to one of the many local seaside cafes for fresh food and uninterrupted Mediterranean views.

This spacious and well-located villa is a good option for a family or group of friends wanting to holiday in Denia, Costa Blanca. There's a fully equipped kitchen and comfortable living room area to relax in – albeit a little dated in terms of decor. Equipped for all seasons, there's a fireplace for cooler evenings and air conditioning for the summer months. We love the lawned gardens surrounding this family-friendly home – they boast superb sea and mountain views and include a large private pool and BBQ area too. While you can explore the local area on foot, we suggest a car for ease – Parc Natural del Montgó is less than 2km from the villa.

The beautiful living space blends traditional Spanish and contemporary styles with tasteful furnishings that will make you feel right at home. Whip up some tapas in the modern kitchen – try not to be distracted by the panoramic views from the large window – or if you prefer to cook alfresco, fire up the barbecue. After a long, lazy lunch, go for a dip in the glistening pool or explore the wildlife garden – that's what holidays are all about. There's plenty to do out and about if you fancy seeing more of the area. Pego is a family-friendly resort, while nearby Parque Natural de la Marjal de Pego-Oliva is a paradise for walkers and birders alike.

A car is a must here, as this home is located in the hills above the town. Still, it's just a short drive to Jávea's beaches, restaurants, and buzzing centre.

This simple, fuss-free apartment is an ideal retreat for a coastal family getaway. It may not be the biggest, but it’s well-equipped and comfortable, with the sun-drenched balcony an added bonus. For some respite from the Costa Blanca sun, the communal swimming pool is a welcome sight, framed by towering palm trees. If you prefer not to drive, a car’s not essential here. A short walk from the apartment and you’ll find a selection of shops and restaurants, or for a stroll on sandy shores, Platja de l'Arenal beach is just 800 metres away. 

A Dream in White

Just 5 kilometres from the sandy Playa s'Arenal and surf school, the outdoor hangouts don't have to stop at this home. There's a sprawling garden and a private pool to enjoy in your downtime. Overlooking the countryside, the upstairs terrace is the go-to dining spot. You won't have access to the unoccupied parts of this villa. But it's best suited to families of up to six, as long as one guest doesn't mind sleeping on a pull-out bed. With an open-hearth fireplace, cosy winter getaways are on the cards, too. 

Starry Sanctuary

With its secluded setting and old-style finca ambiance, this home is a beguiling getaway on the outskirts of Jávea. The luxurious country house features nature-blending interiors, with each room taking inspiration from its surroundings. Textiles in terracotta, rust and burnt orange complement original stone and wood features, while blue-green accents of the bed frame, shower curtain and sofa, tie in with the verdant gardens and turquoise pool. We were particularly taken by the Majolica pottery that lines the kitchen walls. Outside, there are umpteen options for alfresco dining, all boasting knockout views of the undulating landscape. Spend your time relaxing on the shaded daybed, watching the sun set among the lemon trees or enjoying a private moment on your bedroom’s patio.  If you fancy it, Arenal beach is less than a fifteen-minute drive away. But it won’t be long until you're back home on the terrace living the good life –  barbecue lit, glass of Priorat red in hand, watching the palm trees sway in the breeze.

For those seeking a bit more action, the sun glistening off the surface of the pool is bound to invite you in for a swim, after which you can stretch out on a sun lounger with the mountains as your backdrop. With petanque, table tennis and a full-size clay tennis court, you’ll never be lost for something to do. With the beauty of nature wrapping around you, here, you’ve found a little slice of Spanish paradise.

This charming villa with views of the Montgó, otherwise known as the Elephant, is a great setting to spend quality time with your loved ones. With mostly ensuite bedrooms, a private pool and a room to work out in, it has a lot going for it. We like the various sunny and shaded outdoor seating areas – with the poolside marquis being our favourite spot. The centre of Beniarbeig, with its shops and restaurants, is within walking distance of the villa and the nearest beach of Denia is only a short drive away.

Each with their own entrances, modern kitchens, and stylish living rooms, this home is actually two: one apartment and one house, perfect for couples or grown-up families. Sharing the same outdoor space, the homes are both blessed with stunning vistas across the rolling Spanish countryside. Chill out underneath one of the straw-covered parasols, soak up the sun on a lounger, or fire up the barbecue and dine on the balcony to catch the last rays of the day. Offering up privacy when wanted, both homes are self-contained and sport a fresh, summery style. Adults should reserve the larger space and its open-plan living area, which sports cowhide rugs, sensual prints, and cosy leather sofas. But it's easy to come together as a group, outdoors or indoors – this is communal living, with a Spanish edge.

This apartment is nestled on the coast of the historic Javea, a short walk from the sea. The central location means parking will be tricky, but you'll be close to public transport. You'll want to pack light here – the home is small, but has everything needed for a fuss-free stay. We especially like the private balcony, which offers natural light and enough space to sit out with a drink. If you want a base for exploring the town and coastline, you can't get much closer to the action.

Spend your days hopping between the beaches and mooching about Oliva's history-rich streets and weekly market. Or, for a spot of culture and a slap-up dinner out, jump ship to the enticing traditional fishing town of Dénia (just a twenty-minute drive).

Enjoy the tranquillity of the elevated position perched up away from the hustle and bustle of the Costa Blanca yet close enough to enjoy its idyllic beaches and tourist attractions, all just a ten to fifteen-minute drive from home. Located on Spain’s eastern coast, in the illustrious and historic city of Gandia, lies this apartment offering the best of city living and a coastal retreat. Open up the large windows as you fire off some project notes at the desk before tucking into a slice of Tortilla Espanola at the breakfast bar. This is a tranquil space, with a plump sofa for sharing sangria and conversations and a large dining table for enjoying tapas dinners. We think a car will allow you to make the most of your location, though you’ll have to find street parking.
