Sitting just 650 metres from the beach and 3 kilometres from the centre of Dénia, this practical apartment offers a fuss-free getaway with plenty of opportunities to soak up the Spanish sun. With two separate terraces offering outdoor seating and alfresco dining options, you can work on your tan with ease. Alternatively, you can head down to the communal pool for a refreshing dip, or make a beeline for the nearby sands. While the home’s interiors are a little generic for our liking and there are some steep internal stairs leading to the upstairs bedroom, this pad’s locale more than makes up for any shortcomings. 


The Royal Span

This well-located villa in Javea is a great option for a self-catered holiday in Costa Blanca. The interiors aren't luxurious but you'll have all of the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay and the valley views go some way towards making up for the dated decor. There's a decent-sized fully-equipped kitchen here and enough seating in the living area for all guests to relax in at full occupancy. We love the outdoor space – the well-tended gardens include a private swimming pool and plenty of areas for alfresco dining. La Grava beach is just 1km away from this home – while it can be reached on foot, we suggest hiring a car for ease.

A Positive Spirit

This seaside haven in the heart of Javea Port is our kind of heaven. Tucked away and yet mere moments from La Grava beach, this ground floor two-bedroom home is pure boho-beach chic. Featuring a lovely, light filled open plan kitchen cum dining and living room, courtesy of floor to ceiling sliding glass doors which open out onto a cosy courtyard, this artful home boasts both style and substance. Nods to the nautical meet whitewashed walls and windows shutters while brand spanking new cabinetry meets worn wooden furniture, woven basket lights and colourful framed prints. 

Undoubtedly the star of the show, however, is the interior courtyard, with its traditional Tosca stone walls and Spanish style tiled floor – the perfect relaxing retreat come morning, noon or night. You’ll love rising early to catch the sunrise before taking your morning coffee out into the courtyard. Host cook offs and gather around the dining table for sociable meal times or head out for hours of sun-baked fun at the beach before meandering along to one of the many local seaside cafes for fresh food and uninterrupted Mediterranean views. 


Boho-Beach Chic

There’s a playful charm to this peach-pink villa on the outskirts of the northern port city of Dénia. We love the pretty curved archways shading the patio terrace – the perfect spot for morning coffees and sunny views of the surrounding villas and palm-lined swimming pool below. Head inside for an open-plan living room and dining area with tiled-flooring, comfy furnishings and homely rugs creating a sociable yet homely ambience. Back outside, you’ll revel in your private al fresco dining area or late-afternoon snoozing spot, with the turquoise pool water beckoning you in for a cooling dip. This villa sits in a tranquil residential area where you’ll be a twenty-minute walk from Costa Blanca’s warm golden sand beaches. Benefitting from a host of restaurants and bars, the 200-kilometre-long vibrant and built-up shore is known for its buzzing nightlife and evening entertainment. Well-positioned, a stay here offers you that precious downtime with the option of big exciting trips into town. 

Pastel Strokes

Situated a short walk from Primer Muntanyar Beach, this inviting apartment is perfect for short breaks or longer stays on the Northern Costa Blanca. Inside, it’s bright, breezy and homespun – we particularly loved the playful mismatched furnishings in the living space. Begin your mornings with breakfast in the sunroom before finding a quiet spot in the gardens to relax with a good book. Cool off with a leisurely swim in the communal pool or drive over to Platja de l'Arenal and bob about in the calm Mediterranean Sea. 

When lunchtime rolls around, try out one of Jávea’s waterfront restaurants then stroll around the old town’s narrow streets with an ice cream in hand. Return home in the early evening for a glass or two of your favourite tipple as the sky turns apricot. 

Comes the Dawn

At the foot of the majestic Montgo mountain, this villa is set within impressive grounds. Offering a private pool, hammock and alfresco seating, you can take your pick of outdoor spots from which to enjoy the panoramic views of the Alicante countryside. With plenty of open green space, the kids have somewhere to run around while the adults relax nearby. Close to the historic centre of Jávea Old Town, narrow streets offer a great family day out, but if you’d like to visit the beautiful Arenal beach then a car is recommended. 

Scenic Slopes

With its secluded setting and old-style finca ambiance, this home is a beguiling getaway on the outskirts of Jávea. The luxurious country house features nature-blending interiors, with each room taking inspiration from its surroundings. Textiles in terracotta, rust and burnt orange complement original stone and wood features, while blue-green accents of the bed frame, shower curtain and sofa, tie in with the verdant gardens and turquoise pool. We were particularly taken by the Majolica pottery that lines the kitchen walls. Outside, there are umpteen options for alfresco dining, all boasting knockout views of the undulating landscape. Spend your time relaxing on the shaded daybed, watching the sun set among the lemon trees or enjoying a private moment on your bedroom’s patio.  If you fancy it, Arenal beach is less than a fifteen-minute drive away. But it won’t be long until you're back home on the terrace living the good life –  barbecue lit, glass of Priorat red in hand, watching the palm trees sway in the breeze.

Movin' On Up

This charming villa with views of the Montgó, otherwise known as the Elephant, is a great setting to spend quality time with your loved ones. With mostly ensuite bedrooms, a private pool and a room to work out in, it has a lot going for it. We like the various sunny and shaded outdoor seating areas – with the poolside marquis being our favourite spot. The centre of Beniarbeig, with its shops and restaurants, is within walking distance of the villa and the nearest beach of Denia is only a short drive away. 

Views Of The Elephant

Each with their own entrances, modern kitchens, and stylish living rooms, this home is actually two: one apartment and one house, perfect for couples or grown-up families. Sharing the same outdoor space, the homes are both blessed with stunning vistas across the rolling Spanish countryside. Chill out underneath one of the straw-covered parasols, soak up the sun on a lounger, or fire up the barbecue and dine on the balcony to catch the last rays of the day. Offering up privacy when wanted, both homes are self-contained and sport a fresh, summery style. Adults should reserve the larger space and its open-plan living area, which sports cowhide rugs, sensual prints, and cosy leather sofas. But it's easy to come together as a group, outdoors or indoors – this is communal living, with a Spanish edge.

Rosemary Rocks

This spacious and well-located villa is a good option for a family or group of friends wanting to holiday in Denia, Costa Blanca. There's a fully equipped kitchen and comfortable living room area to relax in – albeit a little dated in terms of decor. Equipped for all seasons, there's a fireplace for cooler evenings and air conditioning for the summer months. We love the lawned gardens surrounding this family-friendly home – they boast superb sea and mountain views and include a large private pool and BBQ area too. While you can explore the local area on foot, we suggest a car for ease – Parc Natural del Montgó is less than 2km from the villa.

Waves & Water

Among the rolling hills, spanning vistas, stunning views sea views and that of the nearby town of Javea/Xabia, this home offers breathtaking scenery regardless of where you might look while being just a stone's throw from everything the town has to offer, including a golf course, restaurants, bars, and sandy beaches, where diving, sailing, surfing, and sunbathing are expected. 

Within the home, expect bright, open spaces, a relaxed atmosphere, and all the calm and tranquillity that a Spanish getaway of this calibre could possibly provide. Spend your days dining on lush local cuisine in the amply-equipped kitchen, soaking up hot Spanish rays on sunbaked terraces, and cooling off before dinner in the villa's private pools. When looking for a little time to yourself with your favourite book, the opportunities for cosy nooks know no end. This is a home to be enjoyed by all the family and provides the perfect backdrop to a truly unforgettable getaway.

Sunflower Sonnet

A short drive from the beach, this villa is placed on the residential outskirts of Dénia, which boasts a medieval castle in the city. A scenic golf course is less than four kilometres away, perfect for a nine-hole round before a barbecue lunch at home. With its serene outdoor space surrounding the private pool, we think this will be a hit for families seeking a balanced holiday. Sensible bonuses include ample parking, a work desk, and varied services if you fancy a treat.
