In the centre of Las Palmas, this sleek studio apartment puts trendy restaurants, pavement cafes, buzzing bars and endless shops on your doorstep. It’s a city packed with things to do, from exploring the 15th-century cathedral to spotting sharks at the aquarium and wandering the botanic gardens. What's more, Las Canteras Beach with its impossibly blue water and long sweep of sand is just a five-minute stroll away.

Retreating back to your apartment is a delight as sunlight streams in through the big corner windows – just what you want in the land of sunshine. The palette of turquoise and white is refreshing and bright, embracing the holiday vibe. Although it’s a studio, there’s plenty of space with a sofa to relax and a full kitchen for meals at home. That’s if you’re not too busy exploring the myriad eateries on your doorstep.  

Tropical Fish

Perched high above the shores of Las Palmas' famous Las Canteras Beach, this apartment's terrace is a seaside show-stopper. Whether you're lolling about on the sun loungers with a cocktail and a good book, sharing alfresco tapas around the outdoor table or chilling out in the stylish living area with the windows wide open, the rolling tides and clear blue skies paint a postcard-worthy backdrop. 

It's downright dreamy – you can hear the waves crashing below you and feel the salt kiss your skin. And it's no surprise that the sunsets are unmissable. Better still, the communal swimming pool provides a refreshing place to relax when you don't fancy a dip in the sea – and it's got stunning panoramas to match.

When you're ready to venture out, the golden sands are a mere one-minute stroll away – spend your days lounging in the sand and splashing in the sea. Grab dinner and drinks at one of the waterfront restaurants or pick up some local produce and rustle up something tasty back at home. For a change of scenery (though who would want to leave that view behind?), Catedral de Santa Ana de Canarias in the historic district is a sixteen-minute taxi ride away.

Sapphire Horizon

Walk just metres from your apartment complex and you'll be on one of the most beautiful beaches in Gran Canaria. For those of you who love a beach holiday, this is the perfect place.

Waking up to the sprawling, golden sands of Las Canteras Beach is the perfect way to start your day. Sit out on the balcony with a coffee and a pastry, feeling the sea breeze kiss your skin and the salty air greet your nose. 

Wander down from the balcony and you'll find a neutral colour palette, brightened by colourful furniture and artwork. Flooded with natural light, it's a pleasant spot to share tapas, a bottle of wine or just to chill on the sofas with a film.

When the sea air tempts you outside, visit the plethora of vibrant bars and restaurants lining the shoreline. Head inland and you'll find a few lush, green parks and there's a top-class golf course just a few minutes away in the car.

The Changing Beach

Situated within a villa complex less than ten minutes' drive from Maspolamas, this recently renovated home will sing to those fond of contemporary design.

Large windows and glass doors bring plenty of natural light into the interior and this asset works particularly well with the wealth of reflective surfaces and stark white walls. There's a preference for minimalism in everything from the sleek kitchen to the pared-back approach to decoration, and we think the host has nailed it.

Besides, you might not actually be spending all that much time indoors, what with the swimming pool out in the garden, along with the barbecue and covered terrace complete with a lounge and alfresco dining table. Here, it's welcomingly easy to make the most of Gran Canaria's year-round warmth.

Elsewhere in the complex, there's a golf course 200m away from the home, as well as entertainment for children and a couple of shops and restaurants. You can also reach many of the beaches that run along the southern coastline of the island in under ten minutes' drive, while the Dunes of Maspalomas don't take much longer, either. 

Joy & Jubilance

Not that you’ll necessarily be taking many trips – with its outdoor swimming pool, private gym (with enough equipment that nobody will be left waiting), sunken jacuzzi, massage & beauty room, sunset bar – we could go on – you’ll be wrestling with the thought of just staying at home.

Though if you do wish to visit the local area, you won’t be bored. With the Teno mountain range, sandy beaches like the chic Playa del Duque, entertainment and fine dining all nearby, you’ll want to balance your home comforts with your adventurous streak. 

This home is perfect for groups of friends and families, being stretched over several floors and with plenty of space. Replete with plenty of artwork and silver-coloured furniture, the home feels almost futuristic, and it provides a great backdrop as you mingle with your guests in the various living spaces and dining areas.

Villa Amore

Surrounded by rugged desert landscapes dotted with cacti and offering panoramic views towards the Atlantic Ocean, this home just outside Tijoco Bajo on the island of Tenerife is the perfect escape for those looking for relaxation.

We love the collection of leafy houseplants that brings that island feeling inside, as well as the large windows proferring ocean views. Equipped with a shaded dining table and chairs, as well as a barbecue, this is where you’ll want to gather for celebratory alfresco meals while feasting on the stunning views. When it comes to exploring the local area, drive six minutes to discover a taste of authentic Tenerife life in the village of Tijoco Bajo, or drive fifteen minutes to spend sunny afternoons at Playa de Ajabo. Hikers will love exploring the trails through the Barranco de Erques national park (a fifteen-minute drive), while families can enjoy a fun-filled day at Aqualand Costa Adeje, also fifteen minutes away by car.

Sandy Shores Hideaway

Admire the incredible views of La Canteras Beach from this home in Las Palmas. We love the enclosed balcony with its sea vistas. Inside, large windows allow light to flood in – take a seat on the comfy grey sofa and plan your day. Then, whip up an orange juice with the juicer and prepare a tortilla de patatas for breakfast before heading out to the beach.

Considered one of the best urban beaches in the world, the golden sands of La Canteras are under a two-minute stroll. Rent some sun loungers and spend the day here – there are plenty of cafes and restaurants to sample in the vicinity too. Or, for a bit of culture, Las Palmas Cathedral is a ten-minute ride away.


La Canteras Vistas

This stylish studio apartment's central location more than makes up for the lack of space. You're just a thirteen-minute walk from Las Canteras, Las Palmas' famous urban beach dotted with colourful wooden boats and lively waterfront eateries. It's an excellent spot for snorkelling, sunbathing and swimming in the Atlantic Ocean – we bet you'll spend every afternoon stretched out on the sand, watching the waves. If you fancy a bit of sightseeing, take a three-minute stroll over to Castillo de la Luz – a 16th-century fortress that now exhibits artwork – followed by a meal at one of the fantastic restaurants on your doorstep.

When you've had your fill of exploring, we think this light-filled flat is the perfect space to relax. Don't let the size fool you – it has everything you'll need and plenty of stylish features to boot. There's a modern kitchen with plenty of room to rustle up Spanish omelettes for breakfast and tapas for dinner, a lavish walk-in shower with a rainfall feature and a cosy turquoise sofa where you can kick off your shoes and unwind with a glass of Spanish vino. We also like the layout –wood panelling around the bed cleverly separates the living space from the bedroom, so although it's all-in-one, there are defined spaces to eat, chill out and sleep. 

Tides Made of Turquoise

Set just a few steps from the capital’s stunning Las Canteras Beach, the location of this modern studio apartment is bang on. When thoughts turn to food, there are heaps of tapas bars and restaurants in the buzzy streets below. Or rustle something up back at the apartment – despite its studio set-up, the kitchen is well-equipped for cosy evening meals. The lack of outdoor space might not appeal to some, but we can let that slide with the beach and seafront bars so close to serenade the evening sun. 

Waterfront Walkin' Shoes

Sitting in a privileged position above the rolling waves of the Atlantic, this laidback and inviting home is an excellent choice for a solo traveller or couple looking for a cosy base on the island of La Palma. We loved the considered use of colour, especially the wash of warm tangerine in the bedroom and the vibrant splash of azure in the living space.

You’ll begin your mornings with breakfast at the bistro set on your internal patio before heading onto the balcony to bask in a cool ocean breeze. When it’s time to stretch your legs, slip on your sandals and take the ten-minute stroll to the black sands of Santa Cruz de la Palma Beach. Or if you’re keen to soak up a little culture, visit the Balcones de la Avenida Marítima and the Calle O’Daly, no more than a fifteen-minute walk from your building. 

Tangerine Splash

In the quiet coastal resort of Callao Salvaje, this villa is just a fifteen-minute walk from the black sand of Ajabo beach. Here, you’ll find plenty of restaurants, bars and places to hire windsurfing equipment. Within the back garden, a terrace lined with columns is a classy spot for alfresco lunches and you’ve got a sea view in the distance from poolside loungers. It’s surprisingly flashy inside, with a marble-clad lounge perfect for those that like to entertain in style and ornate archways leading from the lounge, to the grand dining room, to the kitchen and out onto the terrace.
