This cute studio apartment, just a ten-minute walk away from Las Canteras Beach, offers the perfect base for lapping up the sandy shores, bars, restaurants and shops of Las Palmas. 

Located on the second floor, the space reveals stylish designs and modern home comforts throughout. We particularly love the floral wallpapers decorating the space, while further pops of blue and green reflect the natural environment and make relaxing here oh so easy. 

With little need to rent a car here, you'll be within easy walking distance from La Luz park, supermarkets and a wealth of wining and dining opportunities. Head to Las Canteras for an afternoon of sunbathing, swimming or paddleboarding, before catching the sunset with a cocktail at your beach bar of choice. 

Floral Breeze

A sophisticated studio in the heart of Las Palmas, this flat may be pocket-sized, but it's packed with style. Modern artwork, crisp cream walls, glossy wood floors – you definitely won't find any seaside kitsch here.

Start the day with a cup of coffee and a Spanish omelette prepared in the fully-equipped kitchen. If you need to attend to a few pesky work emails, pull up a chair and get down to business at the desk. Come evening, sprawl out on the white leather sofa with a glass of sangria and rest your feet after a day in the sunshine. 

And speaking of the weather, you won't find a sweeter spot to bask in the Gran Canaria rays than on Las Canteras Beach. And, even better, it's mere moments from your doorstep – about a minute's walk, in fact. The go-to place for surfing, sunbathing, swimming and snorkelling, chances are, you'll spend every moment with your toes in the sand. There's also an excellent selection of cocktail bars, beachfront restaurants and ice cream parlours nearby for those nights when you don't fancy cooking. What can be dreamier than that?

It Comes in Waves

Right on the beachfront at La Canteras, this home has a fabulous spot. Take in the fantastic Atlantic and La Canteras Beach views from this home’s sunny and dazzling whitewashed terrace. You can even spot Mount Teide in Tenerife in the distance. We love this outdoor space, it's ideal for an alfresco breakfast (whizz up a drink in the juicer to accompany some churros). Later, do some sunbathing on the sun loungers. Inside, there are more of those fabulous vistas through the large sliding doors.

In the afternoon, perhaps head to La Canteras  Beach, under a minute stroll away. It’s one of the best urban beaches in the world, and there are plenty of cafes and restaurants to sample in the vicinity too. Or, for a bit of culture, Las Palmas Cathedral is a ten-minute ride away. It’s a couple of minutes more to Casa-Museo de Colón, which documents Columbus’ voyages. 


Somewhere on a Beach

Surrounded by rugged desert landscapes dotted with cacti and offering panoramic views towards the Atlantic Ocean, this home just outside Tijoco Bajo on the island of Tenerife is the perfect escape for those looking for relaxation.
 
Inside, a calm, natural colour palette and a chic, minimalist decor will put you immediately at ease in the open-plan living space. We love the collection of leafy houseplants that brings that island feeling inside, as well as the large windows proferring ocean views. Kick back on the sofa with one of the books on the shelves or slide open the glass doors here to step out onto a private terrace. Equipped with a shaded dining table and chairs, as well as a barbecue, this is where you’ll want to gather for celebratory alfresco meals while feasting on the stunning views. You'll also find a day bed that invites you to catch up on your holiday reading between luxurious dips in the hot tub.
 
When you’re ready to turn in at the end of the night, the stylishly pared-back bedrooms beckon a blissful night’s sleep, as well as memorable wake-ups to ocean and desert vistas after pulling back the blinds. And should you need to catch up on work before getting down to the business of leisure, you’ll find a handy desk space in the main bedroom. 
 
When it comes to exploring the local area, drive six minutes to discover a taste of authentic Tenerife life in the village of Tijoco Bajo, or drive fifteen minutes to spend sunny afternoons at Playa de Ajabo. Hikers will love exploring the trails through the Barranco de Erques national park (a fifteen-minute drive), while families can enjoy a fun-filled day at Aqualand Costa Adeje, also fifteen minutes away by car. 


Nivaria

This stylish studio apartment's central location more than makes up for the lack of space. You're just a thirteen-minute walk from Las Canteras, Las Palmas' famous urban beach dotted with colourful wooden boats and lively waterfront eateries. It's an excellent spot for snorkelling, sunbathing and swimming in the Atlantic Ocean – we bet you'll spend every afternoon stretched out on the sand, watching the waves. If you fancy a bit of sightseeing, take a three-minute stroll over to Castillo de la Luz – a 16th-century fortress that now exhibits artwork – followed by a meal at one of the fantastic restaurants on your doorstep.

When you've had your fill of exploring, we think this light-filled flat is the perfect space to relax. Don't let the size fool you – it has everything you'll need and plenty of stylish features to boot. There's a modern kitchen with plenty of room to rustle up Spanish omelettes for breakfast and tapas for dinner, a lavish walk-in shower with a rainfall feature and a cosy turquoise sofa where you can kick off your shoes and unwind with a glass of Spanish vino. We also like the layout –wood panelling around the bed cleverly separates the living space from the bedroom, so although it's all-in-one, there are defined spaces to eat, chill out and sleep. 

Tides Made of Turquoise

Walk just metres from your apartment complex and you'll be on one of the most beautiful beaches in Gran Canaria. For those of you who love a beach holiday, this is the perfect place.

Waking up to the sprawling, golden sands of Las Canteras Beach is the perfect way to start your day. Sit out on the balcony with a coffee and a pastry, feeling the sea breeze kiss your skin and the salty air greet your nose. 

Wander down from the balcony and you'll find a neutral colour palette, brightened by colourful furniture and artwork. Flooded with natural light, it's a pleasant spot to share tapas, a bottle of wine or just to chill on the sofas with a film.

When the sea air tempts you outside, visit the plethora of vibrant bars and restaurants lining the shoreline. Head inland and you'll find a few lush, green parks and there's a top-class golf course just a few minutes away in the car.

The Changing Beach

This comfortable, functional apartment is nestled between two of Gran Canaria's beautiful black sand beaches in the eastern region of Telde. The amenities may be more basic than refined, but everything is all in order, with the living area making room for a dining table and flowing into a well-equipped kitchen. The sleeping areas are cosy and agreeable, as is the bathroom, while the private balcony is a pleasant addition catching plenty of sun. You'll be moments from the neighbourhood's popular bars and restaurants, while you'll also have the choice of Melenara to the north and Salineta to the south for a relaxing and unique day at the beach.

The Green Mirror

Hit rest and reset with Gran Canaria's year-round sunshine and vast golden shores at this smart townhouse offering up direct access to the sheltered beaches of Playa Pasito Blanco in a quiet residential complex.

Spend lazy, hazy mornings by the sandy beach, then beat the heat with a cooling dip in the complex's palm-fringed shared pool. There are sea view cabanas if the urge for a cheeky siesta takes over. Or head home for drinks on your private terrace overlooking the shared pool. 

Inside, you'll love the crisp, contemporary interiors that unite this three-storey townhouse. The place dazzles from top to toe in crisp white, while nautical stripes remind you the deep blue sea is never far away. Over in the pared-back, light-filled bedrooms, kids will love the novelty of the ground-floor bedroom with bunkbeds. While grown-ups can have that top floor suite with a private terrace all to themselves – the perfect spot for peaceful morning coffees to kickstart your day.

If little ones are still full of beans after a day at the beach, the shared playground will keep them happy. Then mosey down to the marina (a five-minute stroll) to gawp at the superyachts before dinner at one of the complex's restaurants. Or, for something a little buzzier, jump in the car for an evening in Meloneras (a five-minute drive). The beach bars and grill restaurants lining the Paseo de las Meloneras waterfront are just the spot for soaking up the sunsets.

Say a Little Playa

Looking for a smart bolthole in the heart of the capital that’s just footsteps from the beach? This fresh and contemporary apartment ticks the right boxes. Despite its studio set-up, the kitchen is well equipped to rustle up meals. Although, with the seafront tavernas close by for tapas in the evening sunshine, we suspect you might be eating out a lot. And while there’s no outdoor space to speak of, we don’t think you’ll mind with the famous Las Canteras Beach just 20 metres from your door.

Casa Maravillosa

Situated within a villa complex less than ten minutes' drive from Maspolamas, this recently renovated home will sing to those fond of contemporary design.

Large windows and glass doors bring plenty of natural light into the interior and this asset works particularly well with the wealth of reflective surfaces and stark white walls. There's a preference for minimalism in everything from the sleek kitchen to the pared-back approach to decoration, and we think the host has nailed it.

Besides, you might not actually be spending all that much time indoors, what with the swimming pool out in the garden, along with the barbecue and covered terrace complete with a lounge and alfresco dining table. Here, it's welcomingly easy to make the most of Gran Canaria's year-round warmth.

Elsewhere in the complex, there's a golf course 200m away from the home, as well as entertainment for children and a couple of shops and restaurants. You can also reach many of the beaches that run along the southern coastline of the island in under ten minutes' drive, while the Dunes of Maspalomas don't take much longer, either.
