Located on Spain’s eastern coast, in the illustrious and historic city of Gandia, lies this apartment offering the best of city living and a coastal retreat. Open up the large windows as you fire off some project notes at the desk before tucking into a slice of Tortilla Espanola at the breakfast bar. We think a car will allow you to make the most of your location, though you’ll have to find street parking. This charming villa with views of the Montgó, otherwise known as the Elephant, is a great setting to spend quality time with your loved ones. With mostly ensuite bedrooms, a private pool and a room to work out in, it has a lot going for it. We like the various sunny and shaded outdoor seating areas – with the poolside marquis being our favourite spot. The centre of Beniarbeig, with its shops and restaurants, is within walking distance of the villa and the nearest beach of Denia is only a short drive away.

From the moment you open the door and let the kids race through the villa to pick their beds, you'll feel completely at ease in this beautiful beachside villa. Located between Valencia and Alicante and just 10km north of the port of Dénia on the Costa Blanca, you're spoiled for options when it comes to day trips if you'd like to explore further. Whether you're after a slice of culture and cuisine in Valencia, want to experience Alicante's legendary nightlife, or keep things low-key in Dénia's old town, there's something for everyone.

Smack bang in the heart of delightful Dénia, this no-fuss apartment is perfect for couples or solo travellers looking for some rest and relaxation on the Costa Blanca. Inside, the place strikes a balance between comfort and function. There’s a compact kitchen equipped for quick meals and a quiet bedroom to ensure a peaceful sleep night after night. But it was the view that was our favourite part. We could’ve spent hours on that modular chair, watching the palm trees sway and the boats to and fro from the harbour, only breaking our gaze to open a bottle of Rioja as the sun sets. Spend mornings exploring your locale – you’re a ten-minute walk from the Dénia Castle and eighteen minutes from the Marineta Casiana Beach. If you’re feeling curious, take the twenty-minute drive to Parc Natural del Montgó for stunning hiking routes or catch the ferry from the port to the dazzling Balearic Islands.

There's a fully equipped kitchen and comfortable living room area to relax in – albeit a little dated in terms of decor. Equipped for all seasons, there's a fireplace for cooler evenings and air conditioning for the summer months. We love the lawned gardens surrounding this family-friendly home – they boast superb sea and mountain views and include a large private pool and BBQ area too. While you can explore the local area on foot, we suggest a car for ease – Parc Natural del Montgó is less than 2km from the villa.

Leading right onto the golden sands of Playa de Levante, stroll out onto the beach, where you can position yourself for a morning of Mediterranean sun and fresh air. 

Meander back to your apartment, grab a takeaway pizza at a local restaurant, and enjoy lunch at the dining table with the salty air breezing through the gaping doors. It's plain to see that somebody with a real eye for design has worked their magic on this townhouse found in the coastal town of Calp. Everywhere you look inside, there are tasteful touches, from the dining table made from a repurposed door and the unashamedly bright colours on the walls to the sheer range of objets d'art dotted about the home.

We're also happy to say that there's plenty of substance behind this style. The sleek black kitchen not only looks the part, but it's also well-equipped for whipping up a feast. We're also fond of the terrace, which has views out over the rooftops and verdant hillsides beyond.

When you're ready to get to know the locale a little better, you'll be surprised at how much there is to see. All of three minutes' walk from the home is Torreó de la Peça, the centuries-old defensive walls built to protect the town from marauders. Arena-Bol beach is a ten-minute walk, while further along the coastline, it's possible to head up to the top of Penyal d'Ifac in just over an hour on foot for some incredible views. 

Art Lives Here

This is a villa that will have even the most hard-to-please guests grinning. A lot of that is down to its fabulous views of the glistening Mediterranean and Isla del Portitxol, but special praise also goes to the peaceful swimming pool surrounded by treetops and the covered terrace complete with an alfresco dining table. Although some of the bathrooms are a little dated, we've only got kind words for the three-level layout – we particularly love the main bedroom with a sea-facing balcony. To top it all off, you don't have far to venture for beautiful gold-sand beaches, either.

What’s better than waking up to a fresh cup of cafe con leche? Perhaps only waking up to your morning brew accompanied by vistas over the Med. At this characterful home, you’ll have the perfect backdrop and morning pick-me-up, courtesy of your hillside vantage point and your own coffee machine. Split over three levels, this terraced house combines clean lines with traditional touches such as terracotta floor tiles and wood furnishings, lending the space a distinct sense of place. The real show-stealer, though, is the upper terrace, which makes the perfect spot for breakfast (pan con tomate, anyone?) or dinner with a view. If you visit the fish auction that takes place every afternoon in Javea’s bustling port area – just a 15-minute drive away from your perch in the coastal district of Balcón al Mar. This holiday villa has its own heated pool and great views of the sea from its balcony. Spread over two floors, it might not be the best choice for less mobile guests. With bikes available for free and a range of children's equipment available to rent, we think this home is great for families with young children. Within a twenty-minute walk, you'll reach the nearest beaches and central Moraira, known for its historic castle and great restaurants.

A scenic golf course is less than four kilometres away, perfect for a nine-hole round before a barbecue lunch at home. Sensible bonuses include ample parking, a work desk, and varied services if you fancy a treat.

It is based in the beautiful region of Javea in Alicante, just a short drive from the stunning Parc Natural del Montgó, ideal for those looking to explore some Spanish nature. Here, you'll find a stunning private pool, as well as a hot tub for resting weary muscles after long hikes in the hills. The historic town of Javea, with its many shops, restaurants and tapas bars, is a 10km drive away and if you fancy eating in, your host can help arrange a cooking service so you won’t have to lift a finger.

Stick around to watch the sunset from Mirador 2 on the Port to Cap de Sant Antoni hiking trail – the views are pretty hard to beat.

Just 5 kilometres from the sandy Playa s'Arenal and surf school, the outdoor hangouts don't have to stop at this home. There's a sprawling garden and a private pool to enjoy in your downtime. Overlooking the countryside, the upstairs terrace is the go-to dining spot. You won't have access to the unoccupied parts of this villa. But it's best suited to families of up to six, as long as one guest doesn't mind sleeping on a pull-out bed. With an open-hearth fireplace, cosy winter getaways are on the cards, too.

White-pillared and glass-fronted, this spectacular villa juts out of the mountain like a princess-cut diamond on a gold band. Sharp lines and clean spaces characterise this modern home, from the cavernous living room with its all-cream furniture and UFO-shaped skylights to the bright bedrooms. Artwork, in stark contrast, is bold with huge colourful prints hung in each room. We won't be surprised if you miss all those details, however, as it's the views that will have you enraptured. Looking out over the Mediterranean ocean, the home has floor-to-ceiling windows for uninterrupted panoramas – from the master bed when you wake up to your mid-afternoon soak in the standalone bathtub. Head out for a closer inspection, with a blue infinity pool to make you feel like you're floating, while the upstairs balcony is unbeatable for watching the sunset.

Spicy Red

First and foremost, you'll have access to a private pool and garden, complete with shaded sun loungers for the ultimate relaxation. When lunchtime arrives, there's a patio dining area, equipped with an outdoor kitchen and a barbecue for easy home cooking. Inside, all four bedrooms are bright and comforting, with two rooms benefitting from sliding doors that extend out to the garden. Location-wise, you're well placed for a coastal retreat here, with the Costa Blanca just a short drive away, including Altea Beach which lies within 5km of the villa. 

A House of Blues

Jutting out on the coast, between Alicante and Valencia, the region of Cap Martí offers rugged coastlines, marinas, and rocky shores with panoramic views. While you might want to simply gaze out from one of the many miradors, small towns are also peppered across the area. This Adsubia home is just an eleven-minute drive from beaches like Platja del Portixol, but you don’t even need to go that far to relax in the water.

As soon as you arrive, it’s hard to ignore the huge private pool set on an elevated terrace, surrounded by an elegant balustrade. In these vast grounds, you can also wander through the lawns of your lush garden, where colourful native flowers climb stone walls and palms sway in the breeze.

If it gets too hot, sip chilled local wine under the shaded terrace. You might fancy a siesta in the bamboo dining chairs in the heat of the day, but as the evening chill sets in, the interiors are truly welcoming. Rich and rustic, dark wood is the dominant feature of the decor. Beams, chunky pieces of furniture, and traditional shutters invite you in for a night by the fire.

Pink Iris

Not far from the golden sand beaches and secret coves of Costa Blanca, this home is a slice of serenity on the Spanish coast. Thick wooden oak beams, white arched walls, and pastoral paintings give the space a traditional feel. There are some quirky stylings too: the candy pink bathroom with its jet tub feels very 50s, as do the cream sofas in the large living space. There's oodles of space for groups, though we suspect most of your time will be spent outside. Nab your spot on a sun lounger by the long pool or wander through the verdant gardens to find a stone pergola – perfect for siestas. There are several good restaurants within easy walking distance, but with such a peaceful location, we prefer to stock up on local goodies and feast while seated on the wrought-iron furniture back at the home.

Palms Reach

Enjoy a sublime stay at this spectacular holiday villa, based just a 10-minute drive to Arenal beach. This bungalow offers plenty of space for the whole group to spread out and relax, along with bags of Spanish style that make it feel fresh and elegant. It also features a stunning outdoor space, with a lawned garden that little ones can run around in, plus a stunning outdoor pool that sparkles in the sunshine. There’s also a covered terrace that makes a great spot for alfresco dining, or sundowners with loved ones.

Wake up on sunny mornings and head outside to lay on a lounger with a freshly squeezed orange juice and a good book. As the heat rises, get some shade under one of the leafy trees, or cool off with a swim and a splash in the pool. If you want to venture out, head to Arenal beach for sunbathing and sea-swimming, or tee off at Javea’s golf course, based just 5km away. Head home and fire up the barbecue to grill some Spanish chicken and dine all together around your alfresco table. In the evenings, gather on your shaded terrace and toast to your beautiful getaway.


Sparkling Opal

The sunny Costa Blanca will feel even more magical when you stay at this whitewashed villa. Nestled in the residential area of Pinosol and surrounded by palm trees, the characterful home is equipped with a large private pool, serene garden and comfortable, air-conditioned interiors. Whether you're cooling off in the living room or soaking up the heat by the pool, there's plenty to appreciate in this corner of paradise.

You can reach the famously beautiful coastline in a little under ten minutes. Start at Jávea's historic centre, filling up on freshly-prepared seafood, then wind your way down south to discover other-worldly beaches and hidden coves. Return at the end of each day to your tranquil home, where you can watch the sun go down as you sip sangria on the terrace.

The Great Palm

This stylish pet-friendly apartment lies on the coast of Altea, overlooking the harbour. On the fifth floor with lift access, this home is a great base for exploring the promenade, beach, and cultural sights. There's always the chance of hearing some noise from neighbours, so if you're a light sleeper it may be worth packing earplugs. With a communal garden, the sea right on your doorstep and the whole of Altea to explore by car, you can't get much closer to the action.

A Nautical Horizon

The views from this modern and stylish home are simply sublime. You'll be treated to vistas on all sides of the hills of Moraira and the Costa Blanca. Sit with your friends or family at the table on the terrace, and watch the sea sparkle in the distance. Better yet, take a quick wander downhill to the sandy strand, taking a dip in the water and drying off on a deck chair. Head back up to the home for a quick siesta on the sofa – keep the French doors open to let the sea breeze soothe you to sleep. When you wake up, freshen up in the swimming pool before sundowners on the terrace – the views of the sunset on the horizon leave a lasting impression.
