While there’s no shortage of great restaurants here, you can choose to stay in and rustle up light meals in the kitchen area and share them at the dining table. This is also a good spot to perch in case you need to catch up on some work during your stay.

Speaking of exploring, you’ve got plenty to see within easy reach on foot, including the Sacré-Cœur (eight minutes away), the Moulin Rouge (also eight minutes away) and the Musée de Montmartre (seven minutes away).

Speaking of sightseeing, you’ve got countless points of interest within easy walking distance, including the Sacré-Cœur Basilica (ten minutes), the iconic Moulin Rouge (fifteen minutes) and the Musée de Montmartre (eight minutes).

We wouldn't want to bamboozle you into thinking that this home is larger than it actually is. In fact, it's rather – as the French say – petite. That being said, it could well be ideal for a couple or solo traveller looking for a simple base in a good location.

Behind the front door, the recently renovated space is bright and inviting, thanks in the main to the row of tall windows lining the walls that can be opened on warmer afternoons for some Juliet balconies. There's a simplicity to the design and the lounge area especially will be a relaxing spot after returning from a day of sightseeing. To be truthful, we don't think you'll be cooking much in the very limited kitchenette, but many might not see that as a major issue given you're in the middle of one of the most culinarily celebrated cities in the world.

The home's location is the big draw, with the quintessentially Parisian neighbourhood of Montmartre easily reached on foot, as well as the buzzy bars and cafes of Pigalle to the south. And with Place de Clichy metro station three minutes' walk away, it's just as convenient to travel over to the famous attractions in the heart of the city.

This petite apartment is full of light. It boasts a glass roof and windows that look out onto the greenery of Cimitière de Montmartre, making it a tranquil home-from-home. The combination of glass and a mirrored panel makes the space seem bigger than it is, too – though it’s worth pointing out that there’s only one bedroom so at full occupancy, two guests will sleep on the sofa bed in the living room. As a bonus, there's even a view of the Eiffel Tower – it can't get much more Parisian than that.

If you're looking for a prime location within walking distance of the charming cobbled streets of Montmartre and the Sacré Coeur, then this apartment is ideal. You'll find a number of eateries and bars in the area and green spaces such as the Parc Clichy-Batignolles - Martin Luther King. Back at this home, we love the large French doors that open to the Juliet balcony. This place is a lived-in home, so expect some of the host's personal belongings around – if that doesn't bother you, it does help give this apartment a homely vibe.

You’ll find this one-bedroom apartment just a short walk from the Sacré-Cœur Basilica and the Montmartre district. If you want some green space there are several parks nearby and, of course, plenty of restaurants and bars. Save some energy for getting up the stairs back to this home as it’s on the third floor with no lift. Once there, you’ll find a cosy room with French doors to a Juliet balcony. Guests three and four will be sleeping on a sofa bed in this room at full occupancy. This place is ideal for a family or couples looking for a fantastic address.

Cosy and comfortable for two, you’ll find this apartment in the heart of Montmartre. The open plan living and kitchen area feels quite spacious courtesy of the cathedral ceiling – by contrast, you’ll need to mind your head on the sloping ceiling of the bedroom which is tucked in the eaves. The courtyard is a quaint spot for a glass of wine of an evening, albeit shared with the building’s other guests. And while there’s no oven here, you’re surrounded by restaurants, so dining out is always on the menu.

Large groups seeking a superb location in Montmartre, look no further. This apartment is a mere seven-minute walk from Sacré-Coeur and ten minutes from the Moulin Rouge. When you want to leave the heart of artsy Montmartre, you need only stroll four minutes to hop on the metro at Abbesses. This light-filled home is perfect for families and groups of friends, with a bright open-plan living and dining space that’s ideal for socialising. Two guests will be sleeping on a sofa bed in that space, so their privacy will be limited. For this location, we can forgive that though. 

Bohemian Belle

This simple studio apartment in Montmartre is an ideal base for couples seeking to explore the streets of Paris. With limited storage space, we think this home is better suited for those who travel light – good thing there's a communal laundry room here. The double bed is made up of two singles pushed together, and the kitchenette is compact – you won't get up to much cooking. But we like the large windows (although the view isn't the greatest) and the location is fabulous. You're close to charming eateries, museums, and parks – not to mention the iconic Sacré-Cœur is also within walking distance.

The Paris Songbook

Tucked between Montmartre and the Batignolles district, this apartment provides a fresh city sanctuary in a fantastic location. Outside, you can stroll to cafes, restaurants, shops and iconic sights like the Sacré-Cœur. It’s also extremely well connected with great public transport links making it easy to explore further afield. Back at home, you can unwind on the private terrace or in the cosy living room. Remote workers will also appreciate the dedicated desk space in the bedroom.

It’s not often that we put a bathroom in such high esteem – its marble sink and rainfall walk-in shower just a few of the highlights. After exploring every corner of this apartment, it’s time to explore the area. Your locale is awash with bars, cafés, boutiques, and galleries. But a six-minute walk away, you can discover the entire city from the Lamarck - Caulaincourt metro stop.

Just a short stroll from the cobbled streets of Montemarte, we love the stylish living space here – a perfect base for exploring Paris. Nearby you'll find the Sacré Coeur, along with the bohemian Abbesses and Rue Caulaincourt streets. Back at home, the balcony, while not offering much of a view, is a pleasant spot to catch some sun with your coffee. And although the location is brimming with spots to dine in, the kitchen is well equipped for cooking.

The kitchenette is better equipped for light bites, but with the endless number of restaurants on the doorstep, mealtimes won’t be a problem. Our favourite feature was the private courtyard – it’s the ideal spot to enjoy a nightcap. Best of all, getting around is easy – the Lamarck–Caulaincourt metro station is just a short walk away.

A beautiful four-storey house with unique views of Montmartre's Sacré Coeur, this home is full of vintage objects and artefacts that the owners have bought and accumulated over the years. Each double bedroom is set on its own floor with a beautifully designed en-suite bathroom and sitting area, making it the ideal spot for a family or group of friends who would benefit from a little bit of privacy. The eclectic array of artwork fills the home with vibrancy and offers a creative nod at the creative district of Montmartre in which the home resides. Meander around the cobbled streets, stopping at the traditional brasserie cafes as you pass the local bakeries, cheese shops and florists until you eventually wind up at the Moulin Rouge, just a fifteen-minute walk away. Based in such a stunning location, it's safe to say you'll get the quintessential Parisian experience here, and with such rare views, visible from almost every window in the villa, it will be hard to tear yourself away when it's time to leave.

Dreamy views await at this Montmartre apartment. Pad out to the terrace, and the sweeping vistas of Sacré-Cœur are sure to wow you. You'll have your pick of panoramic seating areas across the two outdoor areas and the hot tub is a sweet bonus. Inside may not be quite as eye-catching as the scenery, but it works well for families and groups. Two living areas promise plenty of space, while the kitchen has all the essentials to rustle up meals at home. That said, Montmartre's cobbled streets are fringed with cafes, eateries, and local shops. You're also close to a metro stop for adventures further afield.
