When we first saw this villa, we completely fell in love. Boasting stunning views over the picturesque wooded hillsides of the Massif des Maures, this stone farmhouse has lots of space inside and out. Two of the single beds are up on a mezzanine level and younger children may need supervision on some of the staircases. That said, the kitchen is well equipped for family meals, and pets are welcome to join you. Sun loungers surround the infinity pool, and the large garden has room for alfresco dining. There's plenty of peace and quiet here, so we think you'll want a car for trips to Saint-Tropez, Nice, and Cannes.

Found in the small town of Cisano sul Neva, this home is ideal for those months when the temperature starts to rise. The interior feels cooling thanks to the tiling underfoot and the large doorways that let a breeze circulate inside when opened. There's also plenty of shade to be found even when the sun's at its highest — a covered terrace will play host to many a languorous lunch, while the flourishing garden offers plenty of secluded spots for an afternoon nap. That being said, there are enough perks inside the four walls if you're coming during the autumn and winter. An upright piano in the living room will keep musical guests occupied, while the hydro-massage bath requires no such talent to enjoy — just sit back and let the bubbles do their work. The local town and its pretty churches take fifteen minutes to reach on foot, while the seaside town of Albenga can be reached in the same amount of time in the car.

Well, those views over La Croissete and the stunning French Riviera speak for themselves, don't they? The spacious terrace is great for soaking up the sun, but it only has two loungers, so you may have to negotiate who gets them if you're a group of four. We love that the main bedroom opens onto the patio – perfect for a morning coffee. Inside, the decor is quite traditional, so it may not suit modernistas – having said that, it's been nicely done. We haven't talked about the location yet – it's excellent. La Croisette Beach and Promenade are just a short stroll away. Or discover all of the chic boutiques and restaurants in the heart of Cannes nearby.

There’s loads of space to stretch out – six ensuite bedrooms, a light-filled living area and a balcony  with sea views for your morning coffee or evening apéritif. The design is seriously polished (think marble, wood, and custom finishes), and the kitchen and bar are ideal whether you're rustling up snacks or hosting something fancier. You’ve even got access to a gym and spa in the building. Our favourite bit? The main bedroom has a walk-in wardrobe and a soaking tub – perfect after a long day of retail therapy.

Located in a charming resort, this is a comfortable 18th-century residence renovated in 2014. The property offers two apartments and is situated in a pedestrian area just 6km from the sea. The apartment is a modern and stylishly furnished 2-room apartment on two levels. The lower level features one room with a French bed and a shower/WC, while the upper level offers an open living/sleeping room with one bed, a dining table, satellite TV, international TV channels, and heating stove. The kitchen is fully equipped with a mini-oven, dishwasher, 4 induction hot plates, and electric coffee machine. There’s a sparkling pool and private tennis court outside, and a boules pitch too. But the place where you’ll really feel like French royalty? The terrace at sunset when the garden is gently lit up and the Mediterranean Sea dazzles on the horizon.

At this heavenly waterfront home in Cap d’Antibes, relax in style surrounded by the sights and sounds of the sea. Built in 1926 by architect Barry Dierks, this villa's guestbook is as storied as they come – Pablo Picasso, Noël Coward, and the Duke and Duchess of Windsor have all spent time here. If the illustrious history doesn't grab your attention, the sea views absolutely will. When it comes to first impressions, this villa in Les Adrets de l'Esterel takes the top prize. An in-person welcome over aperos, charming Provencal interiors and breathtaking sea views – we're sold. The heated infinity pool and the terrace’s loggia for alfresco dining are particular highlights. With five bedrooms over three floors, there’s plenty of space for all, and the separate apartment on the lower ground floor makes it ideal for multi-generational families. What’s more, there’s free access to local tennis courts, not to mention a bi-weekly market and great boulangerie in the village. Factor in the stunning beaches and idyllic Provencal villages within a twenty-minute drive (Nice airport is just thirty minutes by car too), and you’ll see why countryside bliss and Cote d’Azur glamour go hand in hand here.

Sitting in the centre of Saint-Tropez, this brutalist home has a truly enviable location, but we think its charms extend beyond where it sits on the map.

Only built in 2021, the interior is fresh and contemporary, and saved from the anonymity of over-ubiquitous minimalist design by the boldly patterned tiling underfoot, some eye-catching metallic light fixtures and the black-and-white artwork dotted across the walls. We've got kind words for the modern kitchen, which is all clean lines and sleek surfaces, as well as the terraces – not only is there a space on the ground level to dine in the open air, but the upper-floor balcony is fabulous for sunset-watching.

You'll find it remarkably easy to embrace the Provençal lifestyle here. The twice-weekly market at Place des Lices is just around the corner and there are beaches you can reach on foot, too. When the sky starts turning dusky, there's a wealth of bars and restaurants in the surrounding streets at which to pass your evening hours.


The Boys of Summer

This contemporary apartment is all about the location for us. There’s secure parking here, but if you don’t fancy driving on holiday, a car isn’t necessary. Many local hotspots are within walking distance and Antibes train station is a mere five-minute stroll away for adventures further afield in the Côte d'Azur. Walk to Old Antibes, the Picasso Museum or Gravette beach – there’s something for everyone here. And when dinner is calling, head to Juan-les-Pins. A stroll down the seafront promenade, lined with French eateries, awaits.
