“It was the most magical place we had ever been”, say the current owners about their first trip to La Belle d'Ardèche, and we have to agree with them. The chateau has been standing since 1175, and these walls have some stories to tell — tales of buried treasure, revolutions, and artistic genius. As soon as you enter this beautifully restored home, you’ll be swept up in the enchanting interiors of virgin blue and naked stone, surrounded by ivy-strewn gardens and a private pool. But with all good stories, there’s more to this place than you first might assume; venture a little further and you’ll discover a “disco cavern” hewn into the rock, an art workshop in the loft, and everything you need to create your own tales in this unique home. 

La Belle d'Ardèche

In the midst of the oak trees, terraces and rows of vines you’d expect in a remote Provençal wine estate, this sprawling villa helps guests slow down their pace of lift. Spread out across a main house and an annexe, there’s plenty of space for large groups. The interiors mix rustic stone walls with warm, characterful details, while outside a pool, boules court, and terrace dining invite easy days in the sun. When you’re ready to venture out, stroll estate trails, sip wine from the domaine, or play a game of tennis just minutes away. 

Rural French Bliss

Dating back to the 17th century, this historic villa is a true gem in the Provençal hills. You’ll have panoramic views of the surrounding countryside, with cypress trees and old stone maisons dotting the landscape. Drop your bags and head straight outside to the upper terrace, where you’ll find a shaded patio with an outdoor table and a spectacular view. Then, descend to the lower terrace, where a private pool and loungers await. Inside, exposed stone walls and wooden beams convey the home’s age and history, while modern amenities ensure that your Provençal getaway is a comfortable one. And when you’re ready to head back inside, you’ll find the warm and welcoming bedrooms (each with its own bathroom) provide the perfect sense of sanctuary. 

Days can be spent hiking, cycling, sightseeing and admiring the atmospheric charm of nearby towns such as Saint-Ambroix and Barjac. You’ll also find the spectacular city of Avignon is less than an hour’s drive away – making this the ideal destination for an inspiring day trip. 

Maison Rouge

This sixteenth-century château evokes images of fairy-tales and magic spells. Set within a five-acre park of the Cevennes mountains, this is an idyllic setting for a special occasion or simply a much-needed family holiday. This sunny sanctuary is in a quiet residential area, yet within easy reach of some of the gems of Provence. It’s just five minutes by car from the riverside city of L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, which is nicknamed the Venice of Provence and known for its antique shops (it has more than anywhere else in France). When you’re not hunting for vintage finds or touring hilltop villages and vineyards, the house is a peaceful place to recharge your batteries. There’s a pool to cool off in and space to sunbathe, while indoors you’ll find a well-equipped kitchen, two comfortable bedrooms, and two bathrooms, both with a walk-in shower.

The Sunshine House

Built in the late 17th century, this majestic old house in the upper Ardeche consists of two substantial wings linked by a 20-metre-long hall on the upper floor with galleried mezzanines and a covered balcony. And with whimsical surrounding gardens framed by far-reaching views across the valley and up to the mountains – prepare to inhale a breath of fresh air upon arriving here. 

Find abundant natural beauty everywhere when roaming around the romantic setting of this home's gardens. There's a private heated swimming pool, a secluded courtyard and plenty of shaded spots under the willow trees to relax in utter serenity. Enjoy long lunches at the alfresco dining area, or gather on the terrace for an aperitif and evening barbecue as the sun sets over the valley. 

Inside, the house combines traditional antiques with Indian furnishings, alongside rich silk curtains and stone-tiled flooring. Traditional wood-burning stoves can be found in the kitchen and dining hall. Meanwhile, the games room in the vaulted semi-underground cellar features table tennis and a library of books to get stuck into in the study hall. 

When you're not losing yourself in the garden's scenery or the house's traditional charm, Ardeche offers an endless array of outdoor activities, including canoeing and kayaking (twenty minutes away at the main base). For more gentle waters and swimming opportunities, the sandy beach offers a more relaxing way to enjoy the blissful scenery of the Ardeche river too. 


Under the Willow Tree 

With its view of Mont Ventoux (the highest peak in the Vaucluse), this four-bedroom villa is blessed with beautiful scenery. The pool sits among lush greenery and is a sunny spot for a swim, while the shaded terrace is great for an al fresco lunch or late afternoon aperitif. The bedrooms are simply styled and comfortable – one opens onto the terrace so you can go from snooze to sunbed in a flash. When it’s time to explore further afield, your nearest neighbour is the town of Vaison-la-Romaine, which is famous for its Roman ruins and medieval cathedral.

Villa Ventoux

Set on a stunning country estate in the heart of Barbentane, this 18th-century house features an array of charming original features and modern amenities that guarantee a luxurious stay filled with memories. Wander around the hectare of grounds, where you'll find an abundance of fauna and flora amidst the rosemary and thyme gardens. Unwind on the surrounding lawns surrounded by Provençal plants, or better still, take a seat on the terrace shaded by the ancient trees.

The interior of the house has been sensitively restored. Classic features, including wooden beams, an open hearth and ornate tiles are maintained whilst modern finishes complement its original charm. There are plenty of spaces dedicated to relaxation inside the home - a serene living room with plush sofas or a calm master suite opening out to a Juliette balcony. We highly doubt a rainy day here, however, the pianist of the group can soundtrack evenings in front of the crackling fire if a shower does show.

Leisurely afternoons are best spent in the pool or lounging on the south-facing terrace. Come evening time, gather around the Mediterranean-style dining room for a chef-cooked dinner with the region’s best ingredients. End the evening with a few games of boules as the sunset unfolds.

Located around fifteen minutes from the centre of Avignon, you'll be within a short drive of an array of national parks and picturesque streets lined with boulangeries and local restaurants.

Provence Montagnette

This quintessentially French château welcomes you to spend a serene holiday with family and friends. This house sits on the site of an old 15th-century castle that was destroyed in the French Revolution, so it’s steeped in history. It’s located in Jaujac, a medieval village packed with character, and set on an extinct volcano. You’re also within easy reach of the stunning Monts d'Ardèche when you want to be immersed in nature.

The home itself is packed with characterful charm, too – we adore the wooden beam ceilings and exposed brickwork that make it feel like a classic French countryside cottage. The wood burner fireplace invites you to sit with a mug of hot chocolate on cold winter evenings, while the private outdoor pool is a great place to cool off during summertime stays. We also love the covered terrace, featuring a dining area where you can feast on local cuisine while watching the sunset. 


Castle's Footprint

Tucked in the golden triangle of the Luberon, this Provencal farmhouse is all about peace, charm and postcard views. You’re just minutes from Roussillon, Gordes and Bonnieux, yet surrounded by nature and quiet. Inside, original wooden beams and warm tones give the home timeless appeal. Step outside to take in the sweeping views of Mont Ventoux from the pool or enjoy meals in the courtyard. There’s a ping-pong table, basketball area and children’s swing set, perfect for keeping little ones entertained.
