Our favourite bit is the expansive roof terrace, the ideal place to gather for soaking up the Corsican sunshine. There’s also a relaxing chill-out area, with wicker furniture and beanbags overlooking the Mediterranean sea below. If you can tear yourself away from your home's many little luxuries, you're only a fifteen-minute walk from a sandy beach and the charming marina filled with bobbing yachts, while just outside your door, the Old Town offers up restaurants, bars and plenty of cultural attractions including the impressive Église St-Jean-Baptiste.

Locally, you may want to visit the old town of Ajaccio or perhaps you long to feel the sand between your toes – if so, you’re in luck, as Porticcio beach is just a short four-minute drive away. More like a hotel room than an apartment – it's important to note there's no kitchen or living area here. However, that private terrace overlooking the sea is a nice touch for morning cuppas, and there's a coffee pod machine to kickstart your days.

Base yourself along the Sardinian coast at this smart apartment set in the authentic port town of Olbia. While the sea-facing balcony overlooking the island of Tavolara and the Gulf of Olbia is impressive, it's important to note that this home has no kitchen or living area. But with the best of Olbia's restaurants just a short walk away for the freshest seafood imaginable, we suspect you'll eat out a lot anyway. Offering everything you need for a serene island break, this charming two-bedroom apartment is located close to the crescent-shaped white sand beach, gentle lapping waves and beach bars of family-friendly Lozari in Corsica's less-explored north-west corner.

In our opinion, a trip to Corsica is always a good idea. The scenery is exquisite, the food a marvel, and the beaches are something from a dream. We love this pretty stone house in the seaside resort of Moriani Plage – it’s a splendid base for a family or a group of friends. 

The house is simple and bright, with a neutral colour scheme that lends itself to relaxation. There’s plenty of room for everyone to gather together, whether it’s around the piano in the living room or in the dining room. When the sun is shining, you’ll want to be outside to enjoy every last second of it. Happily, there’s a wonderful garden here. Little ones will love playing on the lawn, while grown-ups might prefer sitting on the terrace with a glass of wine. There’s a hammock to doze in, and a barbecue for alfresco meals – we’d be buying some fresh seafood for sure. 

This home is in a quiet residential area so you’ll really be able to relax and unwind. That’s not to say that it’s a sleepy spot though – Padullela Park is across from the house, with its tennis courts and play area. Moriani Beach is a seven-minute walk from the house, and you can stroll for a gelato a couple of minutes away. If you feel like being a bit more active, you might try your hand at jet skiing or sailing. Hikers will love exploring the Costa Verde trails. There’s something for everyone here.
