Where do we start with this great chalet? First of all, the views from the balcony are fantastic. There’s a garden with a hammock and a hot tub, too – perfect for relaxing in. Inside, there’s more to keep everyone entertained including a games room and home cinema – there's also a wine cellar. We should mention that one of the twin bedrooms is on the mezzanine floor and has sloping ceilings so it's probably more suited for children. There’s also a sauna to unwind in after a day of skiing. Speaking of which – there’s a ski bus almost on your doorstep, and the piste is just 1 kilometre away.

The variety of things to do in the village might keep you outdoors during the day, but warming up in the hot tub after a long day of skiing is an exquisite feeling, comparable only to the morning views from the balcony. The designated cook among you will have tons of fun in the well-equipped kitchen, and when the meal is ready, the whole tribe can dine together in the rustic dining area with more lovely views.

Bedrooms are simple and on the bottom floor, ensuring a good night's sleep before taking the ski bus (600m from the home) or setting off on a hike. There's only one deadline to adventures, and that's being back at the balcony for sunset over the snow-capped peaks.

Nestled five kilometres from La Giettaz, this home is nestled in its own secluded piece of paradise. The drive to reach the chalet may not be the easiest, and snow tyres and chains, as well as a 4x4 vehicle, are a must, but it’s worth the effort. Surrounded by nature, this is somewhere you can truly switch off – and, step inside, and you’re met with a contemporary yet homely space. When you’re ready to hit the slopes, experienced skiers can ski straight from the chalet via a blue slope – otherwise, it’s a mere 1.5 kilometres to the lifts at Le Plan.

Calling all skiers – this chalet is just 50 metres away from the slopes in La Praz de Lys. With a heated boot room and ski storage, you'll have space to stash your gear after a long day on the mountain. The hammam is ideal for warming up and relaxing sore muscles, while the panoramic balcony offers the perfect spot to enjoy a mug of hot cocoa in the shadow of Mont Blanc. Inside, the design is exactly what you would expect from a mountain retreat – lots of exposed wood and cosy furnishings. Whether you're after excellent hiking in the summer, fantastic skiing in the winter or just a relaxing getaway in the mountains, there's something for everyone here, especially with the gondola a twelve-minute walk away, a free ski shuttle service and the restaurants and shops in town only six minutes by car.

This cosy chalet shows off the idyllic views in every direction and makes an ideal base for anyone exploring the region. You'll feel right at home in this rustic hideaway, with the open-hearth fireplace, squishy sofas and wooden panelling creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. It's the perfect place to kick off your snow boots and unwind with a cup of hot cocoa and a good book.

Our favourite spot to soak up the sunshine (and the scenery) is the deck off the main bedroom. Enjoy a cup of coffee there in the morning before rustling up breakfast in the kitchen, then grab your skis and snowboards and hit the slopes. When your toes feel frosty and your muscles are sore, head back home to a roaring fire and some delicious cheese fondue around the oak dining table before snuggling up for a family movie night in the lounge.

If you love nature, you'll love this brand-new chalet located in quiet Nantaux. We adore this stylish home's picturesque setting. Admire the alpine plants, meadows and pine trees that surround the abode or relax on one of the wooden balconies. Our favourite spot has to be the swing chair – the view of the Alps are fabulous from both outside as well as inside. The large windows allow plenty of natural light – it really is a space you'll want to spend time in with your family or friends. When the alpine weather turns chilly, gather around the log burner with a glass of Génépi herbal liqueur.

This pretty village is perched on a south-facing hillside at an altitude of around 1200 metres, and it's 6 kilometres from Morzine. Col de l'Encrenaz, on the other hand, is 5 kilometres away – here you'll find many hikes like the "Tour du Roc d'Enfer" as well as snowshoeing and ski touring tracks. Alternatively, in the Summer, you can do some paragliding or mountain biking.

This stylish little studio apartment is right in the heart of historic Annecy. From your doorstep, you can step out into streets lined with wooden-shuttered buildings, where cafés spill out onto the pavement. An alpine town, Annecy is flanked by snow-capped mountains and perhaps the most picturesque spot is the stone Palais in the centre of the Le Thiou River – the view of which is best enjoyed from the riverside restaurants and gelaterias, a five-minute walk from this apartment. Although it’s a studio, the apartment itself feels spacious and it has plenty of character courtesy of the exposed brick wall and hardwood floor. A wall of windows lets in plenty of sunshine during the day and a room divider separates the living and bedroom area from the dine-in kitchen. There’s even a stylish, Scandinavian-esque desk if you want to work remotely. If you want to get around the compact town of Annecy in a flash, your host provides complimentary bikes for sightseeing.

This beautiful chalet is in Le Grand Bornand, 300 metres from the traditional church. Best of all, you’ll be just 300 metres from the ski bus stop and 450 metres from the gondola. When you’re not skiing, you can soak your aching muscles in the Jacuzzi and soothe them in the sauna. In summer, when you can hike and cycle, the delightful garden is ideal for children. There’s also a games room and an office that overlooks the living area below.
