Where do we start with this great chalet? First of all, the views from the balcony are fantastic. There’s a garden with a hammock and a hot tub, too – perfect for relaxing in. Inside, there’s more to keep everyone entertained including a games room and home cinema – there's also a wine cellar. We should mention that one of the twin bedrooms is on the mezzanine floor and has sloping ceilings so it's probably more suited for children. There’s also a sauna to unwind in after a day of skiing. Speaking of which – there’s a ski bus almost on your doorstep, and the piste is just 1 kilometre away.

Located close to the centre of Les Gets, we defy anybody not to be impressed by this penthouse apartment that combines rustic charm and contemporary flourishes with aplomb.

Given the rather beautiful landscape around these parts, the architect has made the sensible decision to include as many windows and glass doors in the main living space as possible, which also has the added benefit of bringing in ample amount of natural light. During the winter months, you'll love gazing out at the mountain scenery with the fireplace crackling away beside you, but if the weather is a little warmer, you can opt instead to make use of the balcony terrace instead.

When it comes to the design, you can spot many typically Alpine aspects, like the wood finishes and stone floors, but there are a wealth of modern touches in the shape of bold artworks, chic furnishings and the deliciously minimalist kitchen. There's certainly some Scandi influence to be detected in the furniture, but the most Nordic feature of all has to be the three-person sauna that is sure to be a blessing after a long day out on the slopes.

In Les Gets, you'll find a few restaurants and bars to keep you refreshed, as well as a museum dedicated to mechanical musical instruments. Snow Front is a home for those who want more than just a comfortable place to crash for the night. To say it's inspiring doesn't truly do it justice, as this chalet is filled with gorgeous nooks where you can hide away from the world and watch the snowy landscape, or reconnect with your loved ones while warming up by the wood-burning stove. The variety of things to do in the village might keep you outdoors during the day, but warming up in the hot tub after a long day of skiing is an exquisite feeling, comparable only to the morning views from the balcony. The designated cook among you will have tons of fun in the well-equipped kitchen, and when the meal is ready, the whole tribe can dine together in the rustic dining area with more lovely views.

Our favourite spot has to be the swing chair – the view of the Alps are fabulous from both outside as well as inside. The large windows allow plenty of natural light – it really is a space you'll want to spend time in with your family or friends. When the alpine weather turns chilly, gather around the log burner with a glass of Génépi herbal liqueur.

This pretty village is perched on a south-facing hillside at an altitude of around 1200 metres, and it's 6 kilometres from Morzine. Col de l'Encrenaz, on the other hand, is 5 kilometres away – here you'll find many hikes like the "Tour du Roc d'Enfer" as well as snowshoeing and ski touring tracks. Alternatively, in the Summer, you can do some paragliding or mountain biking.

This cosy chalet shows off the idyllic views in every direction and makes an ideal base for anyone exploring the region. You'll feel right at home in this rustic hideaway, with the open-hearth fireplace, squishy sofas and wooden panelling creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. It's the perfect place to kick off your snow boots and unwind with a cup of hot cocoa and a good book.

Our favourite spot to soak up the sunshine (and the scenery) is the deck off the main bedroom. Enjoy a cup of coffee there in the morning before rustling up breakfast in the kitchen, then grab your skis and snowboards and hit the slopes.
