Carefully and creatively decorated, this home in Deal is, well, kind of a big deal. Not only is it close to the seafront, beach and pier but it’s got a private  south-facing garden complete with subtropical plants and two seating areas to enjoy. Its indoors are just as tempting too with plenty of bespoke details, including heritage paint, a terrazzo worktop in the kitchen, a cosy wood burner and underfloor heating to keep your toes toasty all year round.   In this eco-conscious household all hand washes and shower gels are refillable, natural and organic. Little ones will enjoy sharing the bunk beds in the third bedroom, while we’re certain grow-ups will relish a soak in the tub – perhaps with a glass of wine – after a busy day spent on the coast. 


Art Dealer

Make yourself at home at this stately country estate. Look past the manicured lawns and four-poster beds, and you’ll find a surprisingly family-friendly retreat. There's nine acres of grounds to explore including a fenced playground with a wooden fort and a lily pond, shared with a neighbouring property. Perched along the White Cliffs of Dover, it’s a dream for cyclists and walkers too, but if the weather doesn’t play ball, the hot tub and games room will keep everyone entertained.

The Kent Manor

With so much to discover about the rich history and nature of Kent, it would make sense to base yourself in a somewhat historic setting. A twelve-minute walk from Martin Mill train station, in a tiny village of the same name, this home is not only ideal for history buffs, but anyone who is a fan of a tipple. Built in 1610, this traditional boozer hosts locals every evening, but can also play host to four guests in its private apartment. Above this working pub, pick up a pint of English ale to sample before making your way around this striking abode. You’ll find rich leather sofas, vintage upholstered armchairs, a gramophone, Persian rugs, and cabinets and shelves full of curios. A truly unique stay, this home really transports you back hundreds of years, steeped in British tradition and exactly the eclectic vibe you’d hope for. Finish your pint in the back garden, with its picnic benches and lush lawns, where you'll probably find yourself chatting to one of the regulars. If you fancy an escape from pub life, drive ten minutes to Dover – visit its medieval castle, or admire its iconic White Cliffs.

English Barleywine

Taking up the two floors of a Victorian townhouse, this home has a lovely view of Deal Castle out through the window. Inside, there's plenty to hold your attention, too. The white walls and wooden floorboards work very well with the ample amounts of natural light that come in through the windows on either side of the long, open living space. There's a charming collection of nautical-themed pieces of artwork and trinkets dotted about the space, as well as a pair of bathtubs that are sure to tempt you upon coming back through the front door after a long day exploring this quaint seaside town. The pier is eight minutes' walk along the pebbly beach and you'll spot some of the wide array of restaurants and pubs that Deal has to offer along the way.

The Fossil Collector

Stepping into this cottage immediately makes you feel at home. Exposed wooden beams, soft neutral colours, and cosy furniture give this home an easygoing but cheerful feel. When you enter the ground floor, you'll find the warm living room with an impressive book collection. Pick one out for the trip, perfect for curling up on the sofa or when you're catching some rays on the beach, which is just a seven-minute walk away. The French doors open up to a Juliet balcony, inviting in a beautiful natural light. Breakfasts around the dining table are particularly lovely as the morning light glows over you, not to mention the beautiful garden view you have. 

Steps take you down to the lower ground floor, where you have a twee and colourful kitchen. The patio doors lead out to the enchanting garden, covered in bright foliage. In the warmer months, or whenever if you wrap up warm, the garden is a beautiful place to enjoy meals, drinks, or simply just to sit and enjoy the peace. Despite being just a three-minute walk away from Deal High Street, this home is away from the hustle and bustle and remarkably quiet. Ideal for a quaint seaside getaway. And you're mere steps away from the French deli, perfect for picking up indulgent breakfasts. When it comes to dinnertime, Deal has an array of local and international restaurants right on your doorstep. Or, fire up the barbecue at home for a relaxed evening in.

The Bookkeeper

Quaint and magical in equal measure, this sweet Victorian cottage is a fabulous hideaway. Located in the heart of Deal, this home has tranquil spaces for you to enjoy a little rest and relaxation. Feel the warmth of your morning cuppa between your hands in your delightful walled courtyard garden. Surrounded by greenery and capturing the sun, you’ll forget there’s a vibrant town on your doorstep. 

For days spent relaxing at home, this cottage is a bookworm’s dream – after all, reading is dreaming with open eyes. Shelves stacked with classic literature invite you to browse the spines, pull out a book and sink into the armchair to get lost in a story – if you’re anything like us, you could spend days, not just hours, in this comfortable spot, escaping to other worlds. Another feature that ticks a box for us is the rolltop bath. Pour a glass of wine and enjoy a little quiet time, soothing your muscles and simply relaxing after a day spent exploring the coast.  

Small but mighty, this little cottage packs a punch, beautifully bringing together a sense of calmness with the buzz of the surrounding landscape. 

Dream With Open Eyes

Friends, couples, and small families will feel right at home in this coastal apartment. Just minutes from your doorstep lie the golden beaches of Ramsgate, while the town's selection of shops and trendy eateries are easily reachable on foot. The cosy patio has space to sit with a morning coffee or an alfresco lunch, and both bedrooms benefit from en-suites. You'll find street parking outside, but day trips are a breeze even without a car. Bus stops and Ramsgate Rail Station are within walking distance, offering regular services to Margate, Broadstairs, and the charming city of Canterbury.

Seafront Seafoam

If you’re looking for an elegant home set beside the seaside, rich in history, your search is over. Walk the purple floral path towards the bold front door, step inside, and you’ll be met with the same class as this home's Naval beginnings. Tastefully decorated with sparkling ceiling lights and velour sofas, you’ll feel completely at home and enjoy the little bit of luxury sprinkled on top. With manicured communal gardens wrapping around the building, enjoy your morning coffee taking in their green beauty from the private patio as the sun rises overhead. Our favourite feature is the striking clock tower perched above the building, as another reminder of this home’s past. 

Set over three storeys, you’ll find a wonderful open-plan living area on the middle floor – simply perfect for a little sociable downtime with loved ones and with sea views from every window in this home, you are in for a real treat. Just a stone's throw away from the coastal promenade, for an evening out you can stroll into Deal and take your pick of seafront restaurants or quaint pubs, if you fancy a night off chef duties. You’ll rest easy as you close your eyes at night, with comfortable and classy bedrooms and a mind full of lovely memories from your day. 

Below the Clock Tower

Located in the picturesque village of Ash, this farmhouse is a gorgeous escape, best suited for a large family or a group of friends who love the Kent countryside. The architecture hasn't changed much since the house was built well over a century ago, and you can still see a variety of period features, even though the home has recently undergone a careful refurbishment. This is most obvious in the homey kitchen with its hanging pots and pans, supported by a beautiful vaulted ceiling, as well as the antique fireplace in the living room. Thanks to the size of the garden, everyone can find their little spot and relax alone, or get together for an alfresco meal freshly cooked on the barbecue. But our favourite space has to be the library, where you can browse the host's wide collection of titles and pretend you're the Lord or Lady of the manor. There's a local pub just a few minutes away if you're in need of refreshment, along with a village shop. Plus, with the medieval town of Sandwich just a ten-minute drive away, along with a nearby golf course and wildlife park, there's plenty to entertain the whole family. 

Tudor Grace

Style meets comfort in this wonderfully located apartment in Margate. Designed in a chic, boutique-style manner, the whole space feels brilliantly modern while retaining a sense of vintage charm that so aptly reflects Margate’s seaside fame. We love the bright living room with its large windows that provide the most spectacular sunset views across the Winter Gardens and out towards the sea, best enjoyed on the sofa with a glass of wine or through the handy telescope provided. Full of fun decorative details that subtly nod to the coast, this space is made for relaxation and easy-going socialising. Our other favourite spot for sea-sighting is in the beautiful master bedroom where an armchair invites you to curl up on it with a good book and enjoy the rolling of the waves from yet another angle. Factor in the sunny kitchen and the sparkling blue and white bathroom and you’ve got everything you need for a blissful coastal break. Outside of your home, you’re just a six-minute walk from the Turner Contemporary art gallery, an eight-minute stroll from the Main Sands beach, while the Dreamland Margate amusement park is fifteen minutes on foot from your door. 


Atlas Sands

Get your fill of fresh coastal air at this welcoming cottage in Deal. An idyllic seaside getaway, it has everything you need for a relaxing stay. From its wood floors to its cosy fireplaces and contemporary decor, it’s all set to invite you into its warm and comfortable embrace. The farmhouse-style kitchen is where you’ll want to begin your days over hearty breakfasts and hot cups of coffee before catching some rays in the courtyard garden. Then grab your swimming costume and towel for an afternoon at Deal’s pebble beach (a four-minute walk away) or soak up some history at Deal Castle (also four minutes away on foot). Mosey around Deal High Street’s eclectic blend of shops (eight minutes) and take a day to visit Margate, a thirty-minute drive away. After whiling away your hours soaking up the sea air, come back home for sunset drinks in the garden. Then finish the night off with a relaxing soak in the freeform tub before retreating to your bedrooms for a blissful night’s sleep.


Deal Me In

Have you ever had a bath under the watchful eye of an albino lioness? Well, us neither, but that's about to change because we can't wait to book a stay at this outlandish beachside home. Once inside you'll find it hard to believe this was once a 19th-century fisherman's cottage - the owners have done an extraordinary job transforming in into an East London-style design palace with statement House of Hackney-style wallpaper, taxidermy animals, sculptural lighting and artwork that you'd expect to see in the Saatchi Gallery (we're talking Tracy Emin and Peter Blake originals). But for all the provocative design choices, this home is wonderfully liveable - style has certainly not been prioritised over comfort. In the bedrooms, King-sized beds are perfected with exceptional Egyptian cotton bedding. In the living room, we loved the butter softness of the velvet sofas - they're an absolute dream to relax on. And that zinc bathtub next to the lioness guarantees the most luxurious - and memorable - soak of your life. With so much going on inside it's easy to forget that this home has an unrivalled location right on the beach at Kingsdown (the sea views from the master bedroom are divine), but for an unforgettable beach escape, this dramatic home is impossible to beat.
