Because there’s nothing worse than lugging your skis and poles awkwardly on your shoulder while walking like John Wayne in painful ski boots on black ice. In good snow conditions (this is one of the Alps' most snow-sure resorts, so that’s basically all the time) you can ski in and out of this stylish apartment. There’s plenty of storage for your skis here too, so that means you can go from pain au raisin to powder in no time at all. And that’s not all. Inside, the design of this home has been immaculately thought-out. Wooden walls and ceilings keep things nice and warm, and the faux-fur rugs, throws and cushions really ramp up the cosy factor. The bedrooms are playfully set out, with cuddly toy heads mounted on the wall in the children’s room, and luxuriously soft furry blankets in the master bedroom. And after a tough day on the piste, we can’t think of anything better than admiring the glorious mountain views at sunset before tucking into a huge pile of melted cheese (raclette and fondue sets come as standard) in the fresh and modern kitchen with a large wooden table, leather bench and pastel-coloured metal chairs underneath low-slung industrial-style lamps.
