You’ll be within easy reach of this popular resort’s best restaurants and bars, but before you hit the town, you might want to enjoy a quiet apéro on the petite but perfectly formed balcony. Surrounded by greenery, this is a laid-back sanctuary on the doorstep of a chic, upscale holiday resort. 

Down The Wooden hill

This apartment, situated in the heart of Deauville in Normandy, is full of charm. The white walls reflect the natural light that’s ushered in through the windows, so despite its size, it feels like a light, bright space to spend quality time with loved ones. And with a variety of outdoor activities available, why not try your hand at sailing, fishing, windsurfing, paddleboarding or horse riding?

Spirit of Normandy

Situated in the heart of the French countryside, this rural gîte offers a private and tranquil place to call home for those looking to escape the pressures of daily life. A short stroll from the charming village of Villers en Arthies, you'll find local shops and restaurants, while the surrounding fields provide a scenic backdrop for your afternoon walks. And, if you're looking for a little excitement, the lodge is approximately an hour's drive from thrilling Paris. 

Back at home, days begin with a cup of coffee out in the garden, complete with a patio dining area and barbecue for those cosy meals at home. Stepping inside, you'll find a comfortable living area, cocooned by rustic wooden beams, brick walls, and sloped ceilings. Sink into one of the squishy sofas with a good book, as natural sunlight pours in through the skylights overhead. With stylish furnishings, homey decorative details, literature and board games, you and your family or group of friends will soon fall settle into this quaint country abode.

The home is packed with modern charm – we absolutely love the muted colours and dried grass vases that invoke a sense of peace and calm, along with the minimalistic furniture that gives the home a contemporary feel. Your private terrace provides a lovely place to sit and get some fresh air with your morning coffee, while the dining set makes a great place to gather for champagne cocktails in the evenings and meals prepared with fresh produce from the daily local market. 

Deauville Darling

Overlooking the Mayenne River, this newly renovated apartment is the perfect setting for a group getaway to the charming town of Laval. Don’t let the understated exterior here fool you – inside is a modern home cloaked in warm, wooden tones and fully equipped with all the amenities you need for a comfortable stay in the heart of western France. Go for a picnic in Perrine Garden, soak up some local history at Château de Laval, or treat yourself to a gentle stroll along the river before heading home for a relaxing evening in with the rest of your entourage. We don’t know about you, but we can’t think of a better way to spend the day. 

Rousseau's Sanctuary

Nested in the heart of Normandy's gastronomic riches, Pivoine is a rustic retreat that will best suit those who want to slow down and smell the flowers. The estate of the chateau is perfect for long walks and doing absolutely nothing by the pool, while the interior promotes socialising via the regal antique furniture. The nearby town of Bourg-Achard also has a lovely bakery that delivers bread and pastries on demand – and everyone can wake up to the smell of croissants in the morning. 

Pivoine

This magnificent home in the Normandy landscape has a long history – and now lucky guests can add their own chapter to the manor's story. Whether your volume will be a family reunion, a glorious countryside retreat or even a fabulous wedding is entirely up to you. 

The house is situated on the site of a medieval building dating back to the 11th century and was completed on the eve of the French Revolution. With 350 acres of land, along with the main house, an orangerie, and a farm, there's plenty of space to roam on this sprawling estate. Challenge your friends to a round of pool in the games room, sip wine in the sunny garden, or settle down with a good book in the library – however you want to spend your days, this home can cater to your every desire. And, when evening rolls around, you can serve up a delicious meal in the formal dining room,  created just for you by a private chef using local ingredients. 

From here, you can wander into the village of Le Merlerault in just ten minutes to pick up fresh produce at the weekly market or taste some Normandy cider at the wine cellar. A fifteen-minute drive will bring you to the city of Seés, with its Gothic cathedral, and a twenty-five-minute drive will take you to the Parc Naturel Régional du Perche, where you can hike through the picturesque parkland. 

La Belle Rose

We can see why this French country estate has been featured in a raft of interior design magazines. Inspired by mid-century modern architects, the layout, furnishings and finishes are not what you necessarily expect from these traditional buildings, but they complement them perfectly. There’s a main house and an attached barn, as well as two independent guest suites (one also has a sauna). Step into the gardens and you’ll find a wood-fired Nordic bath and a pétanque court. There’s also a greenhouse growing seasonal crops and an outdoor kitchen with a wood-fired pizza oven. Set in a small village within the Vexin Nature Reserve and just an hour from Paris, you’ll have plenty to see and do during your stay.

Hidden Splendour

When nothing but an actual French chateau will do Cosmopolitan Castle comes to the rescue. This lavish home has hosted a few famous faces, from Aga Khan and the Dalai Lama, and now you. With fourteen bedrooms that can accommodate up to twenty-eight guests, this is a perfect place to accommodate a large family gathering or a wedding party, but you can also use it as a a luxurious base to explore Normandy. Places to see theatre easily accessible from here include the Landing Beaches, the Bayeux Tapestry and Monet's Garden — but there's so much to see around here that we'd rather just let you get on with it. When you're not out and about, relax on the vast estate that surrounds the chateau. You can walk in the gardens, splash around in the pool, play ping pong, work on your tan, read in the salon, or socialise in one of the living rooms. When you need some intimacy, retreat to your bedrooms, all of whom are big, quiet, furnished with beautiful antiques. 

Cosmopolitan Castle

Surrounded by scenic valley views overlooking the apple orchards used to produce the region's cider and calvados exports and the grazing cows in the fields. This 17th-century estate presents a magical setting from which to explore the best of Normandy. 

Positioned just a fifteen-minute drive from Honfleur and 30 kilometres away from the sought-after beaches of Deauville, it is also the perfect base to discover the Bayeux Tapestry, Monet's Garden, and the historic landing beaches. 

As you enter the home's grounds, you'll first be welcomed by a hedged garden and an abundance of traditional Normandic charm and character seen throughout the exterior of the farmhouse. Inside is just as enchanting, as while original features remain faithful to the home's heritage – modern designs and amenities pave the way to a comfortable and memorable stay. 

So after a day of discovery amidst the local countryside, sit in front of the fire and soak it all up with a glass of Calvados on the rocks while you ponder the space's fascinating history. Rumour has it; the neighbouring chateau has even played host to guests such as the Aga Khan and the Dalai Lama.
