We particularly love the covered terrace, it’s a wonderful place to start the day with your coffee. Or indeed, to toast the end of the day with a glass of something chilled, as the sun sets in the distance. Away from the apartment, you’ll find you’re perfectly placed amidst the pretty coastal town of Saint-Cyr-sur-Mer. Ramble the nearby historic streets before finding a sunny spot in the charming town square for a lazy lunch and some people-watching. When it’s time to change up the pace, head to the beach for sailing, diving, watersports, and swimming. Or squeeze in a round of golf at the famous Frégate golf course, with its breathtaking views over the island of Embiez. Whatever you choose to do, it seems impossible not to relax here.

Bandol is one of the most visited towns that lie along the Côte d'Azur, it's a fabulous spot where you can find some truly wonderful homes – case in point, this address is only a couple of streets over from the port. 

It feels remiss to start anywhere other than the wonderful palm-lined outdoor space, which, while modest in size, has both loungers for soaking up some rays and a Jacuzzi big enough to squeeze in seven. There's a contemporary sheen to the interior, from the Scandi-inspired furnishings and whitewashed walls to the modern kitchen dominated by clean lines and smooth surfaces. The bathrooms look as if they've been plucked out of a spa and we also love the hanging chair in the bedroom that is just the spot to get lost in a good book.

When it comes to filling up your itinerary, you're simply spoilt for choice. The golden sands of Plage du Grand Vala are a kilometre or so down the coastline and there's a great choice of restaurants around the port to head to come evening time. Once you've exhausted Bandol – which may take longer than you anticipated – Marseille is less than an hour away by car.

When you stay at this apartment in La Ciotat, you’ll be just steps away from the Sunday market. It’s also under a five-minute stroll to the Old Port and fifteen minutes from La Ciotat’s beaches. The home itself has been renovated by an architect and includes a large living-dining room with a sofa bed, which guests five and six will be sleeping on. One thing to note is that there's air conditioning in the living space and the main bedroom only. There is also a children's bedroom with a bunk bed off the main bedroom, so this place is ideal for families.

You'll find this gorgeous family-size cottage, surrounded by unspoilt countryside, at the foot of the typical Provençal village of Ventabren, is just about as sweet as it gets. If we could give a home a pass based on location alone, this address would undoubtedly get one. Not only does it sit within the Verdon National Park and a five-minute drive from the truffle markets of Aups, but it has a prime view of the mountain peaks of Massif des Maures.

Thankfully, the villa has a lot more riding in its favour other than this wonderful position. For starters, it really spoils guests when it comes to outdoor space. As well as a pair of terraces from which to admire the scenery, there's a huge garden complete with a petanque court, playground and a fountain to enjoy. Best of all, there's a swimming pool that offers a refreshing spot in which to relax during baking hot afternoons.

Once a sheepfold in a former life, the home itself is imbued with rustic charm, filled as it is with wooden ceiling beams, terracotta tiles and handsome antique furnishings. The main bathroom was once an old pigeon house – not something you get to write all that often – but today it's the very vision of relaxation with its cast iron bathtub.

When you're in the mood to see more of this beautiful landscape, there are ample walking routes in the surrounding national park, as well as opportunities for everything from climbing, paragliding, canoeing, rafting and horseback riding. This beautiful villa is the perfect place to relax and enjoy a holiday in Provence. It’s at the foot of Luberon in the countryside of Cucuron, perched on a hill. From its elevated position surrounded by vineyards and olive trees, you can admire far-reaching views. We love the heated swimming pool outside, and the bright and open style of the villa. Huge windows, plenty of seating, and a piano make the living room ideal for socialising. There are varied sleeping arrangements so the villa can easily accommodate large groups, with a quadruple family room that’s ideal for parents of little ones.

We love the communal facilities at this charming villa. There are three swimming pools, no less, including a wave pool, a spa, a restaurant, a supermarket, and tennis courts. You can also simply relax on the terrace shaded by the vine covered pergola and take in the countryside views. Inside, there’s a traditional French vibe, and the vistas from the main bedroom deserve a mention, too. Both bedrooms have air conditioning, which is handy for when the temperature rises. And when you feel like exploring, this villa is ideally placed. Port Grimaud is just a five-minute drive, while Saint-Tropez is also easily reached by car. Or let your host arrange a boat rental and explore the French Riviera’s turquoise waters.

With stone floors, a beautiful open-plan layout and striking scenery visible through windows on all three floors, your holiday will be off to a wonderful start in this beautiful little village.

Sink into the comfy couch indoors or settle on the shaded terrace outside to enjoy alfresco dining with beautiful weather and views. We love that multiple seating areas are spread across the main house, outdoor patio and a separate annexe, which is great for groups seeking to split off in their downtime.

Surrounded by the energy of mountains, this refurbished 17th-century farmhouse is the perfect place to lose yourself in the Luberon. Spend relaxing days here strolling the lush grounds around you – The gardens are partially made up of vineyards and olive groves. Or, take a few laps of the sparkling private pool surrounded by manicured lawn. On scorching summer afternoons, recline on the hammock with blue skies above, and have a light lunch at the stone dining table in the courtyard under the twisting grapevines. Indoors, you’ll find modern art adorning the walls, unique pieces of furniture and canary yellow walls that add a burst of colour. There’s a distinctly medieval feel from the thick stone walls keeping everything cool, to the wrought iron dining chairs and arched alcoves. We especially love the little library, where you’re sure to find something interesting – perhaps a guide to the numerous hiking trails in the area?

Indoor-outdoor living is encouraged through the open floor plan, which extends onto the large terrace for refreshments in the sunshine.

Sitting in the middle of a thirteen-hectare plot, this lovingly restored farmhouse is the ideal option for living the full Provençal fantasy.

Behind the ancient stone walls, you'll find a tasteful mixture of period features, like the fireplace, window shutters and ceiling beams, and more modern additions — case in point, the elegant bathtubs and contemporary kitchen. One of our favourite spaces is the cellar that has been converted into an apéro bar complete with a foosball table.

When the weather's warm and bright — not too rare an occurrence in this part of the world — there are plenty of ways to make the most of this. In the garden, you'll find a swimming pool and plenty of loungers that look out over the French countryside, but there are equally wonderful views from the two stone terraces.

The surrounding region of Luberon is both beautiful and peaceful, something that's easy to discover for yourselves with the amount of hiking and cycling routes that start from the grounds. The village of Saignon is a five-minute drive away too and offers a boulangerie, art gallery and a twelfth-century church.

With a beautiful view from the poolside and lots of traditional features inside, this stone villa in popular Provence has lots to shout about. Sun seekers will love the private pool – although there are plenty of shady spots for cooling off, too. While it may not be the most luxurious home in our collection, it exudes rustic charm and we love the added extras like the pool table, children’s play area and TV den. And when you’re ready to explore, fashionable Eygalières is just a twelve-minute drive away and picturesque St Rémy-de-Provence can be reached in twenty minutes.

In the heart of Saint Tropez, just a few metres away from the port and within walking distance of the beach, this townhouse couldn’t be better located. Restaurants are on your doorstep if you’d like to try out the local offerings, but if you’d prefer to eat in, the kitchen is well-equipped, and your host can arrange grocery deliveries for an additional fee. As the home is spread over three floors, we’d recommend this place to those who can easily manage stairs.
