The views are the true winner at this coastal property on the Côte d'Azur, with vistas stretching over the Maritime Alps and the Mediterranean Sea. It's worth noting that there is no air conditioning here, so expect it to be hot during the warmer months. And, while it doesn't have its own pool, it is just a 1,000-meter walk to a sandy beach. Just a twenty-minute walk from the centre of Sainte-Maxime, you can reach shops, restaurants, and the beach on foot, however we recommend hiring a car if you’d like to see more of the French Riviera.

The balcony is west-facing, so although you won't get direct sunlight at breakfast, you'll have a fantastic sunset view over the Mediterranean. Plus, a second balcony in the main bedroom offers a bit more privacy for those travelling with friends or family – just note you'll need to pay for linen and towels. With the beach just a few minutes' walk away, you'll probably spend more time outside than inside. Sainte-Maxime is a charming resort, but if you want to explore further afield, Saint-Tropez is just 15 km away.

Only built in 2021, the interior is fresh and contemporary, and saved from the anonymity of over-ubiquitous minimalist design by the boldly patterned tiling underfoot, some eye-catching metallic light fixtures and the black-and-white artwork dotted across the walls. We've got kind words for the modern kitchen, which is all clean lines and sleek surfaces, as well as the terraces – not only is there a space on the ground level to dine in the open air, but the upper-floor balcony is fabulous for sunset-watching.

You'll find it remarkably easy to embrace the Provençal lifestyle here. The twice-weekly market at Place des Lices is just around the corner and there are beaches you can reach on foot, too. As the home is spread over three floors, we’d recommend this place to those who can easily manage stairs.
