This French château is situated on a working vineyard, with incredible views of the Arc Valley and Mount Sainte-Victoire. If you’d like to sample some of the local wines, your host can arrange a wine-tasting session. The home itself comprises a main house and a separate annexe, rented together. At full occupancy, four guests will be sleeping in single beds in the same bedroom – this room is best for kids who will love the colourful en-suite. The traditional decor here may not be to everyone’s tastes but we think most people will be won over by the views from the poolside. Location-wise, you’re surrounded by hiking trails and just 3 kilometres from the nearest town for shops, restaurants and bars.

You'll find this gorgeous family-size cottage, surrounded by unspoilt countryside, at the foot of the typical Provençal village of Ventabren, is just about as sweet as it gets. Slip into your private pool for a morning swim beneath the cypress trees, before preparing a French breakfast out on the furnished terrace. Under a pergola of vines, with a view of the fountain, we can think of nothing better than drinks and dinner alfresco out here with friends and family. 

Inside, it’s warm and welcoming, with pastel pink tones and rustic terracotta tiles. The chic, art-deco-inspired living room and dining area tempts cosy evenings spent snuggled up besides the crackling fire playing light-hearted games and drinking wine. 

But when it's time to head out, take a fifteen-minute drive to the beautiful city of Aix-en-Provence, boasting stone streets and cobbled squares overlooked by the Sainte-Victoire mountain. Locally, there's a hub of activity all within walking distance with a historic centre and breathtaking views of the Berre pond. You can also reach Marseille and it's sandy beaches in just thirty minutes by car.

It’s tucked away on a quiet lane right in the heart of Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, mere moments from the Wednesday marketplace, museums, boutiques, and wine shops. The historic home boasts magnificent 14th-century features including limestone architecture, exposed timber beams, and antique furniture. It’s been stocked with modern amenities including a Nespresso machine and hotel-quality beds, and with local touches like olive-oil toiletries. Best of all, there’s a private roof terrace that offers sweeping panoramic views of Provence. 

The Presbytery

We're not sure if BBC sent you here, but if you want a closer look at Mulberry House's kitchen, look no further than Rick Stein’s 'Secret France' featuring the smiley host making a delicious meal here — and were absolutely expect your to try to recreate it! This is a typical French hilltop chateau, but this doesn't mean it's ordinary. The casually welcoming atmosphere is a product of modern furniture and restored period features, the kitchen being the best example of this harmony. Still, we expect you to spend much more time around this home than in it. With the huge pool that's perfect for a morning splash and the futuristic loungers around it, a gorgeous dining spot under the pergola, and a breezy back garden, there are plenty of spots to socialise or reflect in peace. The host team that looks after this home is always available to help and organise those extra touches that will make your stay even more special. Think transport to football matches in Marseilles, babysitters, maid service, and more.

Mulberry House

This home has views over the small town of Le Beausset and the Provençal countryside from its large, vine-covered terrace. There’s also an interior courtyard – perfect for a morning coffee. The living room with its sliding doors is a great place to relax. We think it's ideal for families or friends, just note that towels and linen cost extra and that the second bedroom has a sofa bed. The location is fantastic too, with plenty of cafes, restaurants and shops on your doorstep. Or for a day by the sea, explore Saint Cyr sur Mer, 14 kilometres away.

This beautiful village house is the perfect place to enjoy a holiday in the Luberon region of Provence. The property is located on a hillside on the edge of Gordes, one of France's classified 'Plus Beaux Villages'. The Provençal valley views from the terraced grounds are incredible.

The house has been decorated with refined style and there's an authentic ambience across its elegant lounge, dining room and perfectly equipped kitchen with doors sliding open to the al-fresco dining terrace. Modern additions include air-conditioning throughout, a Sonos music system and Smart TVs in its mezzanine lounge and two of the three bedrooms.

Sleeping up to six guests, the bedrooms are gorgeous, one with a king-size double bed, wood-beamed ceiling and romantic rolltop bath, another with a queen-size double, sofa and en suite shower room and the third en suite with twin beds and lovely views through its little windows. 

Outside, the vistas of Provence will take your breath away whether you are enjoying a glass of Luberon AOC wine on the upper terrace or peacefully reading on the outdoor sofa beneath the poolside pergola. The swimming pool is superb for warm summer days when you don't wish to venture too far. We love the rustic charm of the terraced grounds with old stone steps, pretty pathways and swathes of summer colour.

When you stay at this apartment in La Ciotat, you’ll be just steps away from the Sunday market. It’s also under a five-minute stroll to the Old Port and fifteen minutes from La Ciotat’s beaches. The home itself has been renovated by an architect and includes a large living-dining room with a sofa bed, which guests five and six will be sleeping on. One thing to note is that there's air conditioning in the living space and the main bedroom only. There is also a children's bedroom with a bunk bed off the main bedroom, so this place is ideal for families.

This is the kind of holiday home that dreams are made of. This magnificent villa was a hotel in days gone by, hosting the likes of Virginia Woolf and Winston Churchill. Now it’s a spectacular holiday home that sits on a cliff, looking over the French Riviera. 

Tucked away within the Calanques National Park, this home feels like an oasis. The sweeping views out to sea and the verdant surroundings make it feel as though it’s a million miles from the rest of the world. In reality, it’s just a twenty-one-minute walk from the village of Cassis – you can wake up in paradise and be eating croissants at a cafe by the port in under thirty minutes. 

It really does feel paradisiacal. A huge terrace looks out over the water and to the small beach below – walking seven minutes down a private path will see you arrive at Plage de l’Arène. The heated swimming pool shares the same gorgeous Riviera view, which makes sunset swims all the more enchanting. Wherever you choose to watch the sunsets, you’re in for a marvellous show. We’d pop open a bottle of bubbly and take a seat on the terrace. As the sun sinks lower, the sky transforms into pastel-hued art. You’ll never want to leave.
