It’s all about the modernity inside and although the staircase is a slick design feature, the open steps aren't suitable for young children.

Surrounded by lush greenery, this Provençal farmhouse will delight sun worshippers and wine lovers alike. The outdoor pool is the real centrepiece, but the garden boasts plenty of other spots for kicking back with a glass of rosé, including a shaded patio with an outdoor kitchen for a spot of alfresco cooking. The interior isn’t quite as striking with some rooms feeling a little dated. But the space has, nonetheless, retained plenty of traditional charm with its exposed stone walls and beamed ceilings, making it a nice backdrop for cosy evenings in. And location-wise, you’re just a short drive from some of Provence’s most beautiful villages, so you won’t have to venture far to get a taste of local culture – and viticulture.

This beautiful village house is the perfect place to enjoy a holiday in the Luberon region of Provence. The property is located on a hillside on the edge of Gordes, one of France's classified 'Plus Beaux Villages'. The Provençal valley views from the terraced grounds are incredible.

The house has been decorated with refined style and there's an authentic ambience across its elegant lounge, dining room and perfectly equipped kitchen with doors sliding open to the al-fresco dining terrace. Modern additions include air-conditioning throughout, a Sonos music system and Smart TVs in its mezzanine lounge and two of the three bedrooms.

Sleeping up to six guests, the bedrooms are gorgeous, one with a king-size double bed, wood-beamed ceiling and romantic rolltop bath, another with a queen-size double, sofa and en suite shower room and the third en suite with twin beds and lovely views through its little windows. 

Outside, the vistas of Provence will take your breath away whether you are enjoying a glass of Luberon AOC wine on the upper terrace or peacefully reading on the outdoor sofa beneath the poolside pergola. The swimming pool is superb for warm summer days when you don't wish to venture too far. We love the rustic charm of the terraced grounds with old stone steps, pretty pathways and swathes of summer colour.

There are quite a few stairs to climb here, some rather steep, so it may not be the right choice for guests with reduced mobility.

This beautiful, single-level home consists of two separate parts, making it a great option for families and groups of friends who want their privacy. There are plenty of places for coming together and socialising too, with both indoor and outdoor dining, a large pool area and a lush garden. Tucked away on the outskirts of Lagnes, this charming home is the perfect setting for a Provençal escape with friends or family. What started life as two separate farmhouses has been remodelled into one free-flowing property, boasting richly decorated interiors that make the home feel truly lived-in – albeit by a French aristocrat rather than your average Joe. Stone fireplaces and framed art pieces abound but if that’s not your thing, there are four hectares of gardens to explore. Dive into the swimming pool, practise your forehand on the tennis court, or find a secluded spot under an olive tree and unwind in peace. 

You’ve got the option of hiring a private chef to take care of you, but if you’d rather put your own culinary skills to the test, you’ll need to venture into L'Isle-sur-Sorgue to stock up on ingredients. The town’s 18th-century waterwheels and picturesque riverside cafés make this far from a chore though, and we wouldn’t blame you if you ended up whiling away the rest of the afternoon here rather than rushing home.
